A Wedding With No Theme

Kat

September 17, 2009

The only theme behind Sarah and Dominick's wedding was to be themselves, to rock out and of course to not hide their tattoos! As photographer Lindsey revealed: The wedding had no theme. It was simply a young, hip, tattoo covered couple. What really made this wedding rock was the fact that the bride and groom were both tattoo covered (complete with each inking the other's name on their arms) and they were completely in love. The bride and groom, as well as myself, are complete individuals in word and deed. Therefore it was a perfect fit. The venue was a simple restaurant in Princeton and not a frilly wedding hall. It was a down to earth affair, with the bride wearing a blue engagement ring, and the first dance was to the Grateful Dead. The focus remained on the individuals getting married, and not about wedding day fluff. Thanks Lindsey, you rock...

Smilebooth

September 16, 2009

A photo booth at a wedding is pretty much guaranteed to result in some pretty fab photographs, but a smilebooth by Our Labor of Love takes the idea to a whole other dimension. These guys are probably one of the first photographers I remember seeing doing the quirky, props-led style photo booth and I'm sure like me you've seen many others follow suit since. This set has got to be one of my favourite's ever - Stephanie & Wil are such a awesome couple and fun guests who were clearly up for it! Thanks so much to the wonderful Whitney & Jesse for allowing me to share these with you all! Credit: Our Labor of Love

If you want to see some of the most beautiful floral details and centrepieces ever plus some pretty damn stunning beach portraits then you've certainly come to the right place! Meghann & Edwin planned their Steampunk-Victorian-Beach-on a budget wedding with help from all their friends and family - DIY was the name of the game! I am totally in love with all their decor ideas and the beautiful floral details - this wedding proves that you can make anything look bloody amazing if you have the time and patience to do it yourself. They spent only about $200 on flowers and decor and went to The LA Flower Market the day before to get the blooms. Meghann explained:

Christina & Justin had a personal ceremony in Kona (it was just the two of them - you can't get more intimate that that!) and then followed it up with an amazing photo session with the lovely Marina. She wore amazing red shoes. He wore kick ass snakeskin boots. I looked at these and melted. Marina I heart you..thanks for the sharing! Credit: Red Heart Photography

I am on a blogging roll this morning hey? Can't stop now though, I've got Keith & Rachel's amazing engagements to show you. The couple (who I swear to God should be models) will actually be getting married at the exact location of this shoot. Keith is a tattoo artist and did the awesome sleeve on Rachel's arm. I was shocked to hear that Corin's photography had never been blogged before - it is stunning! I am super excited to be the first wedding blog to share her work with the world. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of her.

Tequila In Hawaii

Kat

September 4, 2009

Husband and wife team James & Bev just sent me these stunning Kikaua Point Beach wedding from May this year. I actually spotted some of these images on one of my many hunts for damn cool weddings and in fact begged them to send me the images of Amanda & Rob's big day. Me? play it cool?...certainly not! The couple had a Don Julio Tequila toast right after they said 'I do' (now I don't really know what this is, but I can only imagine it involved Tequila shots after the vows!) and Amanda wore are beautiful traditional Hawaiian dress called a mu'umu'u as her wedding gown and quite frankly looked stunning. A huge thanks to Bev & James for sending me these and letting me share this stunning wedding with you all! Credit: James Rubio Photography

The Tiny Bride

Kat

I literally adore photographer Sarah Pukin's way of wording these images. I really can not compete. Enjoy this and enjoy these gorgeous images! The Tiny Bride. Once upon a time there was a girl who met a boy. The boy was in a band - when he saw the girl his heart grew and he knew she was the one. The girl gazed up at him and thought “could this be love at first sight?” As the boy came closer the girl reached her hand out - as he grabbed it they both knew that they were soul mates. They fell deeply in love. As time passed the boy and the girl got married and here are a few pages of their story. Thanks Sarah. You rock! Credit: Sarah Pukin Photography
