Gemma's 'Suits and Sequins' summary of her wedding to Guy is very apt, as in true Sinatra style they did things their way. Their Peckham wedding, shot by megababe Devlin Photos, was emotional and incredible from start to finish, from that sparkly green wedding dress (swoon) to the 'Silly Old Beans' sign they were married under, and the story behind their couples' amazing portraits...

a-Stone Wedding & Lifestyle

April 18, 2017

Sandra and Hendrik were together for 12 years before they were married. They met in August 2004 at a funfair and distinctly remember the smell of popcorn filling the air. They wanted to recreate their first meeting at their wedding, so decided it should be funfair themed. They also wanted their wedding day to be a celebration with their loved ones while listening to great music and, of course, with the smell of popcorn in the air again.

Moments Captured

August 29, 2016

Laura and Andy's August wedding had it's own fun fair! "We wanted an alternative theme but done in a grown up way" said Laura. "When we first got engaged, we sat down to brainstorm all the things that make us ‘us’. We hadn’t been to many weddings, so we were able to let our imagination run wild! Our main viewpoint was that we wanted our guests to come away not just thinking ’that was the best wedding ever’ but ’that was the best day ever!"

Leila and Jake were inspired by their mutual love of music for their wedding. That, and the groom loving the fun fair! The wedding took place in Malibu, California. "To others our wedding might have looked unique or alternative, but for us a couple it was just who we are", began the bride. "We are both pretty heavily tattooed and pierced and we met outside one of his shows in California (he is a professional drummer)."

A Theme Park Wedding: Shirley & Elijah

Kat

April 30, 2012

Shirley & Elijah love going to theme parks and Disneyland so when it came to choosing a theme for for their wedding it was the obvious choice. "Our wedding was full of vibrant colors," the bride wrote. "We went for the overall theme of a theme park called 'Shirlijahland'. Every aspect of the wedding played off this. Our food was an upscale version of carnival food and our flowers were inspired by wands, pin-wheels, and lollipops. My dress and the dresses of my bridesmaids were fun and whimsical. We wanted people to be blown away and to share in a part of our quirky personalities."

September 12, 2011

I don't think I've ever featured a wedding from Lithuania on the blog before, but I'm pleased to say that's all about to change...and if there are more Lithuanian weddings as awesome as this one I want to share them as well please! Alma & Aleksandras' wedding was sent to me by their planner Laura Vagonė. "I met these two six months ago, both of them are photographers so wanted to have wedding in some special and at an interesting place. I‘ve offered them an old carousel park and they loved the idea. The ceremony was held at 8am and officiated by the the father of the groom. We had amazing party and the guests were invited to try carousel. They were happy as kids, trust me. We also had a live band playing the whole time. Everything was so great that I‘d like to share that colourful joy with you!"

Regula & Bruno’s Abandoned Fairground Wedding Portraits (Part Three)

Kat

August 10, 2011

So part one was spooky, part two was cute and part three is just...well...a whole other level! Could an abandoned fairground in Belgium possibly be the coolest photo shoot location ever? "The day after our tea party reception we went on a adventure to an abandoned fairground that I used to visit as a child when it was still open," Regula told me. "I suddenly thought about it a few months ago and wondered what had become of it. I have some vivid childhood memories of it. Bruno and I wanted to go there as we love the creepy and romantic forgotten world feeling about it. We have a thing for the strangeness of old fairgrounds and fairs, hence the rock candy and candy apples at our reception. When I told our photographer Sassy of it she was so excited we decided to make a trip together."

August 9, 2011

Being a wedding planner herself, newlywed Michelle knew exactly what she wanted for her British Summertime wedding to Jodie. In the 18 months of their engagement she spent hours crafting and painstakingly putting together their vintage and craft themed day. "I wouldn't change a thing!" she explained. "We had so much fun planning the day, we did everything from choosing the playlists to writing our vows and designing the picnic menus."

Tiffany & Brandon – Embracing the Fun

Kat

March 16, 2011

"We wanted to get pictures that captured our personalities," bride-to-be Tiffany told me. "We began calling around photographers in Orlando and almost all of the photographers that I loved were way over budget. I was very upset, and had to come up with a plan. Since I was a student photographer at one point of my life, I loved having models/couples/babies doing photos for my portfolio, and I usually didn’t charge as much as professionals. So, I posted advertisements at the local art schools and craigslist looking for a student photographer who would like to do our wedding. I received an email from Nick Suivski, student at the University of Central Florida and savior of my wedding."
