Monika & Jeff's engagement session took place in the desert. Their photographer Tom Fowler was keen to explore an outside/inside theme as well as showcase the couples personalities through the props they chose.

Engracia & Andy got married in Flagstaff, US but had their wedding portraits taken in Marrakech by Andreas Holm. "We both love to travel, but didn't want the hassle of figuring out the paperwork for getting married outside of the United States," they told me. "So instead we had a very small ceremony with our closest friends and family in our home town right before we took off to celebrate, just the two of us, in Marrakesh. Even though we didn't get married in Morocco we still wanted our wedding photos to be taken there... I was dead set on having wedding photos on a camel in the desert. It was the perfect location for our wedding/honeymoon...it's exotic, romantic and the vibrant colours and people made a perfectly contrasting backdrop for our wedding photos - even though it was raining."

Susan wanted to get back into her wedding dress for a memorable photo shoot for her anniversary. When she married Jesse 10 years ago they had some trouble with their photographer (who, ahem, ended up in jail) so although they received some 4 x 6 prints, they didn't manage to get an album or any photo enlargements made. They were also pretty unhappy with the portraits of Susan from the images they did get, and none of them showed off her beautiful dress in all it's glory.

Tara & Travis met at The Burning Man festival in 2007, so where better than to be wed than the very festival that brought them together? The ceremony, which they wrote themselves, took place under the Bliss dance statue in the middle festival and was performed by a close friend of the couple. The theme for the wedding was Denim and Diamonds/Cowboy Chic. The couple did everything themselves and due to the festival location, had very laid back attitude to the 'formalities' of a wedding, "We had a good old fashioned BBQ for everyone - no one was turned away" they explained.

I am seriously so in love with Laura & Colin. What an utterly gorgeous pair, with an utterly gorgeous e-sesh (although these shots were actually taken the day after their wedding) at Salvation Mountain. I've blogged about this amazing place before. The 'mountain' in the Californian desert is a 50 foot mountain, made totally of local adobe clay and paint. The 79 year old creator of this national treasure, Leonard, lives on site alone in his truck (!) and his piece of art has been a work in progress for over 20 years!

You might recognise the utterly gorgeous singer and actress Kestrin Pantera from her 'Three Dresses & The Wedding of the Century' (part 2 here) wedding which exploded all over blog land a in May. Well how lucky am I? It turns out she's a Rock n Roll Bride fan and so sent me this totally awesome and slightly crazy photo shoot that she did recently.

The term 'Trash the Dress' is thrown about a lot in this industry so it's nice to see a shoot where I can comfortably call it a 'real' Trash the Dress shoot - boy is this David's Bridal number destroyed! The shoot took place at Dry Lake Bed in Las Vegas, Nevada and the theme was Superman and Lois Lane having a great time (!) Eric, the groom is a huge Superman superfan and their wedding theme was actually, Superman Chic (which you can see for yourself here.) "Honestly, we just wanted them have a great time and I think that definitely shows" photographer Mike explained. "We believe they are a Rock n Roll couple because Nichole destroyed her dress and at the end of the day, she decided to shadowbox it and hang it in their house as their own personal work of art. Her dress will never be locked away in a box, it will always be on display for all to see and that is pretty rockin'."

When Christina & Mitch turned up to their engagement session with their beloved '68 Corvette in tow, photographer Clayton Austin was instantly inspired and channeled Steve McQueen as the idea behind the shoot. As a little bit of a petrol head myself, I can totally relate to how Clayton described the day.

There is something a little bit spooky about this day after session and I can't put my finger on exactly what it is...maybe it's the dark lipstick vs the pale skin (very stylish don't ya know!?) or maybe it's the vast annd slightly creepy abandoned location. A few months ago, photographer Jennifer Williams' sister found this gorgeous vintage dress in a thrift store for $10. Being the helpful sibling that she is, she knew it would be perfect for a photoshoot and so bought it right away. Jen wnt on to tell me the whole story: The minute I saw it I couldn't wait to plan a shoot centered around it! I couldn't get those old images of Bonnie and Clyde out of my head from the old 1967 movie. Most of my inspiration was centered around that, although I mixed and matched decades into my own take on vintage fashion. Then I found out we had permission to shoot at this salvage yard and the shoot became this beautiful classy take on grunge. As weird as it sounds, that is the best way I can describe it. A Day In The Life

As soon as these images landed in my inbox early this morning I was desperate to blog them right away! First off the couple are ridiculously beautiful (but that, of course, goes without saying), secondly I have never seen such a gorgeous set of images where it is just the two of them, no barriers, no props, just the newlyweds being themselves. In fact I'm not even sure I've ever seen an 'in bed' style shoot used as part of a day after session. I love it. The photographs are so intimate and so personal yet done in such as way that there is no element of sleaze...I don't even feel voyeuristic looking at them They really are just art. Art and love. We then move onto the bulk of the shoot, where living in Odessa, Texas (a place where there is apparently 'nothing ') doesn't seem to have made these images anything less than breathtaking. The train, the graffiti, the river, the tree. The gorgeously intimate style continues only this time with a back drop that tantalises the senses all by itself. Giddy With Bloggy Excitement

OK so I'm pretty much giddy with excitement over sharing this Las Vegas engagement session and wedding sent to me by photographer Holly Jones. Chronologically it makes sense to start with the engagements right? I am c-c-c-crazy about Teneisha's pink dress and yellow shoe combo and of course the Neon Graveyard makes for a completely awesome backdrop. EEEK I can't wait to show you the wedding later - she has the most gorgeous green, polka-dotted dress!
