Beth and Zac wanted their wedding to be relaxing and described their wedding theme as 'fun, festival like, colourful, DIY and eco-friendly. "My main inspiration was the big BBQs and garden parties my parents had when I was growing up – everyone could just relax, help themselves to food and drink and just have a good time!" explained Beth. "I've never really like being the centre of attention, or feeling like I'm causing a fuss (table service in a restaurant is awkward enough for me) and Zac has never been one for formalities. So we both knew we wanted something relaxed and easy going."Read more...

Sarah and Ben hired a small farm in North Wales as their venue. As vegans, serving a vegan menu was of the utmost importance, so they self-catered the whole event! Lucy and Jack wanted their wedding to have a music festival vibe, but indoors. They hired Old Thornes Hotel in Liphook and were married in August. "We called our wedding WedRock" said the bride. "It was a celebration of us, our love of rock and metal music, and just having a good time with our family and friends. Music was a huge inspiration. Jack and I have been to so many gigs and festivals together, we’ve literally lived our lives to music. It was important to us that it featured all of the songs we love that hold memories of some very special times we’ve spent together."Read more...

Bunny and Sarah were married at Burning Man Festival. Their theme was based on their Disco Jelly art car that they made for their camp. "Getting married at Burning Man was very unusual!" said Bunny. "The environment and elements, such as heat, wind and dust (sometimes all at the same time!), made the wedding very different and challenging. During the ceremony a dust storm came, but we didn't thinking about pausing for a second. It made our moments very raw and unforgettable."Read more...

Jess and Dan got married in Manchester in July. They met in Brighton Pavilion Gardens, where Dan also proposed, in 2009. A major reason for them getting married was due to Dan being diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2015. “We'd been talking about getting married for a few years already” said Dan, “but a big life threatening illness does wonders for making you do things more promptly. On hearing the news of my illness, Jess asked me (still in my hospital bed) if we should get married. I said 'of fucking course' and the rest is history.”Read more...

Nicky and David were married in East London. They had a relatively small budget of £5000 but they were able to make it stretch by avoiding wedding specific items wherever possible. They even skipped the wedding car, choosing to get the train between their ceremony and reception venues.Read more...
