Bold and Bright Galaxy-Inspired Bridal Shoot

Am I going to hear collective groans if I tell you today’s styled shoot is out of this world? OK, probably deserved, but you’re going to replace those groans with gasps when you see it in all of its dark and celestial beauty!

The shoot was styled by Cathy at Boelle Events, who wanted to push boundaries (a cause we can get totally behind!) “The idea for the shoot came from wanting to rethink ‘celestial’ styling and show that you can still go big and bold and create a daring, unique and sophisticated look”, she explained.

“As a venue stylist I’m always trying to show that you take any theme and really run with it. I wanted to play on the moody and magical colours associated with space so decided to work with deep blues, golds, magentas and blacks which were brought to life by wild flowers and vibrant crystals.”

If you’ve got Issue 22 of the magazine (it’s on sale now, so do go grab it!) you’ll notice the stellar backdrop Cathy used to showcase the gorgeous Legend Bridal Designs dresses. “It’s important for me to show couples that you can step away from the traditional dress and styling and still have something utterly gorgeous, but unique to you,” Cathy explains.

Both models are wearing Legends Bridal Designs, showing a gorgeous light and dark interpretation of the theme. One of the models is wearing a divine plunge neck dress in black sparkles and star embellishments around the waist (not to mention the pentagram ribbon lacing at the back!) whilst the other is wearing a super cute white lace two-piece with an angular bodice section and full skirt. Peep the little star freckles by Rebecca Anderton too!

Rustic, Beer Themed Wedding with a Temperley Wedding Dress

Charlie and Duncan were lucky enough to score a gem of a venue for their wedding – Outfields Farm in Bedfordshire. Usually used for holiday accommodation, they had their reception in the barn usually used as a bunk room, and the whole bridal party were able to take over the holiday cottages adjacent for the whole weekend. Many of their other guests camped on site too. As it wasn’t an advertised wedding venue, happening to belong to Charlie’s bridesman’s parents, they’re convinced they managed to achieve what they wanted from their big day for a third of the price of hosting it in a manor house or country club!

Being able to stay over the nights before and after the wedding meant that there was a real party atmosphere for the whole weekend, not just the day itself, which is just what Charlie and Duncan wanted when they began their planning. The couple took their inspiration from the rustic charm of the venue itself and their love of relaxed days spent in pub gardens with friends, family and dogs. They wanted it to be as personal as possible, and the input of so many friends and family ensured the day was completely tailored to their tastes and passions by those who knew the couple best.

Rustic Romanian-English Barn Wedding (with A Parrot Ringbearer!)

Andreea and Steve’s rustic luxe tipi wedding was a perfect blend of Romanian and English cultures with a Midsummer Night’s Dream feel. Read on to see the best, most ethereal bridal hair you’ve ever seen, and a parrot ringbearer. Yep, you read that right!

It’s easy to see the Midsummer Night’s Dream influence on this wedding. Andreea’s hair is incredible on it’s own – long and flowy and such a GORGE shade of red – but woven with flowers it’s basically the fairy princess hair of dreams. Andreea’s stunning wedding dress was from Natalia Vasiliev, the perfect middle ground between a fuller skirt and being able to actually move on your wedding day – just look at the movement in that skirt!  She finished her look with a necklace and earrings that belonged to Steve’s late mother, and Jeffrey Campbell ‘Lolita’ shoes. Her bridesmaids also wore flowers in their hair to match their trailing bouquets,  and cornflower blue dresses to tie in.

Their hand-fasting ceremony was held outside in front of a wooden frame covered with stunning blue and lilac flowers by The Luxe Design Co. After an emotional first look, Andreea’s dad walked her down the aisle in his full ceremonial outfit. They were also accompanied by by Andreea and Steve’s pet parrot, Jay, who came down the aisle on Andreea’s shoulder!

The Big Lebowski Inspired Wedding Powered By Nature… and Tacos!

Kelly and Buck were married in September in an outdoor ceremony at Riveredge Nature Centre in Wisconsin, with a barn reception at the same venue.

Kelly, a print maker and paper artist extraordinaire, met Buck through her best friend Molly. They soon discovered a shared love for drawing, and Kelly, who works as an Admissions Counsellor for a Milwaukee art college, encouraged Buck to pursue his passion for drawing professionally. Buck picked up an apprenticeship and now works as a tattoo artist.

Heavily inspired by creativity and nature for their decor choices on the day, Kelly, together with best friend Molly created all the paper florals by hand; the reception decor, the bouquets and the flower crowns from crepe paper. Place names and table numbers were displayed with handwritten delicate paper leaves. The couple also included deer in their decor, with antlers on the top table and adorable an golden deer cake topper too.

Modern Winter Witch Californian Wedding

Kelly and Oscar describe their wedding as “modern winter witch themed” and we’re inclined to agree. Their beautifully moody day was inspired by witch practices including herbalism, crystals, tarot and the importance of natural, balanced elements.

“These elements weren’t just for show,” the couple explain, “but are things of importance to both of us. Having all the elements present, that the building had openings in all directions (north, east, south, west), crystals to bring good energy and spirits into the area, herbs to chase away bad energy and spirits, celebrating the cycle of life by having both living and dead pieces; all of these details were intentionally brought in to not only create a fun ambience for the guests, but to include things of deep meaning and importance to us.

Festival Wedding with Celtic Druid Ceremony & a Spray Painted Dress!

Coleen and Gavin’s jawdropping wedding day was held at their farmhouse in Margherafelt, Northern Ireland. The ceremony was performed by a druid and the full-day reception was essentially a festival, with 25 acts over three stages (yep, you read that right!). And on top of that, just wait til you see Coleen’s spray painted rainbow dress!

“We hold this little festival at our farmhouse every year, and thought it would be the perfect place to have our wedding,” Coleen explains. “All our friends and family will already be there and we’ve always said that we wanted an outdoor wedding. What could be more perfect than having it at our own home?”

Having their wedding at home meant they could totally personalise the details of the day and make it unique to them. “We had an old Celtic ceremony done by The Order of The Druids in Ulster that took place in a stone circle,” Coleen continues. “We had a stone marking each of the compass points and an element at each direction: a small bowl with earth in it, a small fire pit burning charcoal, incense for air and a bowl filled with water. We were blessed at each compass point by the druid, who then joined our hands together with the cord, and then together we lit our hand fasting candle, which is re-lit every year on our wedding anniversary. At the end of the ceremony, everyone tied gifts to the branches of the tree as an offering, and we all had a good boogie to Groove is in the Heart by Deelite. Everyone laughed, cried, and spoke of how beautiful and unique a ceremony it was!”
