If you're anything like me, on a Friday you're tired and ready for the weekend so I thought I'd ease you into your last working day of the week with a bit of fairytale magic... I know how much you all loved the 'baby bunny' photo shoot that I blogged last week, but are you all ready for part two...shot in PARIS!? This is fairytale escapism on a whole other level. If the bunny shoot made you squeal, I think you're just about gonna die when you see this...Read more...

It's been a busy week as ever in Rock n Roll Bride Land. On Tuesday I trepidatiously tip toed by way into The Dorchester Hotel, London (seriously way too posh for me) to give a quick talk at the Mark Niemierko Academy for wedding planners about getting featured & how to create a great blog for their businesses. I also got to spend a few hours hanging out afterwards with friends who I certainly don't get to see as often as I should which was loooov-er-ly.Read more...

"We have always been passionate about music which was a key inspiration for us," newlywed Hannah told me. "We also wanted it to be a relaxed party atmosphere to reflect our laid back personalities. We started this off by designing and making contemporary informal invitations which used some photos from a photo booth to tell a mini story, we also designed a modern logo which we then used on all of our stationery."Read more...

Shavonda & Naomi both wore white for their elegant but funky wedding in Sacramento, CA. Shavonda actually wore two dresses - the first, a customised gown from WToo (loving the short front!) and for the reception a sexy short number from BCBG Max Azria. Naomi's suit was a mix of trousers from New York & Co, a vest from Bebe and a shirt from Express. The wedding was held at Beatnik Studios, an amazing studio space in downtown Sacramento.Read more...

After a church ceremony at St Peter's & St Paul's Church in Hampshire, Lisa & Ric had a very British wartime themed wedding at Broad Half Penny Down Cricket Club, Hampshire - the world's oldest cricket club. "Life never goes the way you plan it," the bride wrote. "I always dreamt of finishing uni, finding love, getting married and starting a family. The conventional family - we are not! I am 12 years younger than Ric, and also about 12 inches taller! Ric is frequently away with work and moved me to the south of the country, away from all my friends and family. Oh and how could I forget our 2 year old son - Bear. This was definitely not what I had planned. When Ric finally proposed, I was on cloud 9 and I knew that our wedding day wasn't going to be a 'normal' one. For example - I couldn't decide what engagement ring I liked, so I have three! We also had a best woman instead of a best man, we 'high fived' at the altar instead of the kiss, and our son screamed through most of the ceremony then was racing his toy cars down the aisle with chocolate down his nice white shirt."Read more...

They found award-winning photographer Svetlana Batura to be perfect for the job. What wonderful images they created!Read more...

Holly & Patrick were married in Brighton. They didn't really stick to a particular theme for their wedding, they simply included things they love. They wanted to keep the day simple and stress-free, as the bride explains, "We didn't have a theme, and we didn't say anything had to be a certain way. My dress was handmade on me, through chatting, drawings and ideas, by my friend Aimee who trained at London College of Fashion. Patrick chose his suit because he was definite that he wanted a 'mod' suit. It was all done very organically, and it was perfect. Somebody suggested I wear a long sleeve, high necked dress to cover my tattoo but I declined the suggestion and went for as low a back as possible."Read more...

If you're anything like me you'll be a little bit bored of the usual crop of wedding fairs. I'll be honest, I do go to a lot of them as part of my job but it is very rare that I really love love love what I see. It takes a lot to impress me I tells you. "Our inspiration came from our wish to have a wedding that was different to any we had been to and our main focus for the day was to try and make it as fun as possible for all the guests," newlywed Jo wrote. "We wanted to have an informal day that just felt like a party. We both like antique decorations and I have always wanted a vintage dress because I wanted something different and not something that you might see someone else wearing at another wedding. I also loved the idea of my dress having a history and making someone else day special before mine. In the same way as I love the fact that the diamond in my engagement ring belonged to Charlie’s Great-Grandmother."Read more...

The Beatles brought Lauren & Ben together, so it was fitting that they wanted their favourite band to influence their big day. Ben is from Liverpool and plays in a Beatles cover band as George Harrison and while working on reception at the Soho Grand Hotel in New York in March 2010 Lauren met the band when they played a gig there. However the couple did not want their wedding to be too obviously Beatles themed, so instead they simply added a few subtle touches to the day. Lauren explains, "Our inspiration for the wedding was glamour and sophistication, with a whimsical, retro, playful twist. We had a live string trio play during our ceremony -with a solo of "Come What May" - the love theme from Moulin Rouge {which also tied in the glamour/whimsy/love theme of the day}. The strings {violin and viola} added a sophisticated, lovely, untraditional, more dreamy atmosphere to the ceremony {especially walking down the aisle to them!}"Read more...

Music is the language of us all. It is the Great Mood Bringer, the Atmosphere Creator, the Immortal Setter of Tones. It’s what makes us cry at the start of Up, and at the end of Forrest Gump. It gives you the power to bring every guest to their feet, or have them sobbing in the aisle. And when you’re crafting your wedding day ‘experience’, it’s the most powerful tool at your disposal - more than the speeches, styling, and stationery combined.Read more...

There was a moment, not too long ago, when it felt like the bridal industry might finally be waking up. In 2020, the push for inclusivity hit a much-needed tipping point. The Black Lives Matter movement forced many of us to acknowledge what had long been true: representation in bridal - especially for Black, mixed and non-white couples - was sorely lacking. Around the same time, body diversity started to gain traction too. Brands began hiring larger models, offering extended sample sizes, and showing dresses on more than just one very specific body type.Read more...

So how do you navigate wedding planning and all the inevitable stresses that it brings while keeping yourself as healthy as possible? Yes, you can take the outlook that most alternative wedding suppliers promote of ‘your day, your way’ and try to make the planning as fun as possible but this only really is the first step when you have a long-term condition.Read more...

By now, you’ve probably seen those viral “wedding recap” reels on TikTok or Instagram – the ones that somehow appear just hours after the ceremony. The ones that make you go: Wait, how did they already post that?! Well, there’s a good chance a wedding content creator was behind it. A wedding content creator is a service provider who creates primarily video content on their phones. The idea is you have a skilled person who is capturing all of the moments of a wedding, candidly. That is also the person, a couple would put in charge of recreating any trending videos or transitions, lip syncs, etc. They often provide clips in a quick turn around, so the couple can share their wedding “in real time” or within a the few days after, on their social media. Some wedding content creators even offer a wedding day takeover, so they really are posting the wedding day in real time. We spoke to Falon Mei of Vegas Wedding Content Creator all about this rising, and sometimes controversial, new trend.Read more...

Set against the dark timber of a black barn, Gabrielle and Ross' wedding day featured textured florals, stone-cut signage, and a timeline designed to feel relaxed.
