Ahh Spring, it always makes me want to clear up, clean things and get my shit together! So what’s been going on this week? Well, not much in terms of particularly exciting activities… unless you count organising my desk exciting. I mean I know *I* do. I’ve cleared the meaningless clutter, surrounded my computer with crystals and candles and put a vision/ inspiration board on the wall. It’s all looking very pretty and colourful I have to say!
Other than that I’ve really just been cracking on with writing issue 4 (OMG!) of the magazine (issue 3 comes out April 30th and issue 2 is still available for sale). SO ALL GOOD THINGS.
I hope wherever you are, your day is filled with sunshine, flowers and love!
Happy Thursday! This week was awesome, what with it being my birthday and all. I was well and truly spoilt by Gareth! On Tuesday I woke up at 7.30am and saw a card in a rainbow envelope by my side of the bed. Written inside was this lovely message (ha!) but also the first clue for a treasure hunt for me to find my present!!
I jumped out of bed and starting dozily wandering around the house finding clue after clue until I opened a unassuming brown box at the end of our bed (which had gone unnoticed for days, yeah we might need to tidy our bedroom a bit!) and inside was the leather jacket from Whistles that I’d not so subtly been harping on about for weeks! The boy did good.
We didn’t have any concrete plans for the day, but I knew I wanted to get out of the house otherwise I’d end up working! We decided to hop on the train to London where we went for afternoon tea at Sketch (the pink gallery room is even more amazing in real life!) followed by a meander though the daffodils in Green Park, a stop off to see the Queen at Buckingham Palace, a leisurely stroll down the Southbank and finally a sushi supper. The sun was shining and it was a perfect, perfect day!
If you enjoy seeing my personal life snaps, you should totally follow me on Instagram by the way! I try to post something everyday and I can promise plenty of adorable cat pictures.
OK, Thursday treats time! Here’s the rest of the stuff that’s been amusing me over the past seven days:

I’ve been on a rainbow kick. I’ve actually been feeling a bit down in the dumps, which might just be because of my impending 31st birthday next week (WHAT?! How did I get so OLD?!) or it could be just one of those things… But either way, I’ve been tackling my blueness by throwing some rainbows at it!
I hope you’re feeling all full of the joy of spring, and less of a grump-a-puss like me. I want to wish you a fabulous Thursday and an even more eggggscellent Easter weekend. I’ll see you on the flip side, megababe.
I am very much looking forward to this weekend because Ronnie and Sophie are coming to stay. On Saturday we’re having a ‘crafternoon’, which we totally take the piss out of ourselves for saying, but it’s going to be suuuuper fun!
We’re going to be working on some DIY projects that I’ll be featuring on the blog soon. As you probably already know, I am DIY-phobic (AKA I suck at it) so I’ve had to call in the reinforcements. It’s all good though because one of them involves cocktails!!I’ve been ferociously scouring Amazon for ingredients all week and getting very excited over things like edible glitter and rose flavoured syrup!
Oh! And last weekend was quite monumental too because Gareth did a skydive! He is notoriously difficult to buy gifts for because he really doesn’t care about material things and never wants anything (except, like, motherboards and graphics cards and boring techy computer equipment which I really can’t buy for him!) So, for Christmas I decided to get him an experience instead of just pointless bits of junk that will sit around our house, and for some crazy reason I thought of a skydive.
He said he wasn’t nervous beforehand (yeah right!) but once he’d done it he was high as a kite on adrenaline and said it was the most amazing thing he’d ever done! If you’re looking for a unique gift for something that’s tricky to buy for (and a bit of an adrenalin junkie!) then I can totally recommend.
Aww so cute in his purple jumpsuit!
So how have you been? What are your plans this weekend?
PS Issue 3 of the print magazine is very nearly ready to go to print! It’s on sale April 30th and if you own a wedding business and would be interested in advertising be sure to get in touch!
Greetings and salutations from my spare bedroom! As many of you will know, I’ve had a busy couple of years travelling so much with The Blogcademy. Pretty much every other month I was packing my bags and heading off somewhere else.
It’s been awesome, and I loved seeing so many new places and meeting so many amazing people. However when I got back from my last trip a couple of weeks ago, I realised I wouldn’t be hopping on a plane again until September! Weeeeeeeeeeird. Our next live workshop is in London in June so all that requires from me is a 20 minute train journey! I’m actually really looking forward to being at home though. There’s a lot going on with Rock n Roll Bride, so having my feet firmly on UK soil for a while is no bad thing!
Spending the majority of the last seven days in my sweatpants, in front of my computer, means I’ve found plenty of internet-ty things to keep you entertained this afternoon too. Enjoy!
Last week I spent five glorious days in Las Vegas. While a lot of people claim that a couple of nights in Sin City is more than enough, I couldn’t disagree more! I had a great time and could have stayed for a month! I’ll be writing all about my trip in epic detail soon (including sharing all about the David Copperfield and Britney Spears shows – both were incredible!) If you’re planning to marry or honeymoon in Vegas you are in for a treat.
To whet your appetite, here’s a silly little holiday video we made of our adventures. Yes, we danced a LOT!
Aww we had so much fun! Right now, I’m back in my office, catching up with approximately 10364 emails, making plans for issue 3 of the magazine (gosh it comes round so fast!) and planning some fun DIY projects which I’ll be sharing on the blog over the coming months. IT’S ALL GOOD.
Talking of the magazine, have you got issue 2 yet? What do you think? I’d love to see some selfies of you with it on Instagram and Twitter. Make sure you tag me (@RocknRollBride) in the photo and there are extra bonus points for any with puppies in… after all there are cute canines on the cover (surely that’s got to be a wedding magazine first?) My favourites will be published in the next issue which is out in May.
I have so much internet-ty goodness for your this week, so grab a cuppa (I’m drinking mine out of my new flamingo mug!) and dive in!
