Crimbo limbo week (the week between Christmas & New Year) is a weird on in the blogosphere. Posts are few and far between and most bloggers take a well earned break or simply post yearly round up articles. So 2013′s first edition of Thursday Treats is a little on the ‘lite’ side… but no need to fret, by this time next week I’ll have amazing linkable blog posts coming out of my ears!

Until then…

Wahh! Welcome to the last Thursday Treats of 2012. I’ll likely be spending most of next week laying like broccoli (or something more festive sounding). So yes, apart from a couple of 2012 round up posts (what was your favourite wedding that I blogged?) I’m actually talking a full week off! Let’s go out with a bang shall we?

What are your plans for next week my little Christmas puddings?

Thursday Treats: I Think I’m a Christmas Scrooge

in Thursday Treats | Written by

Dear reader I have a terrible confession and I hope you’ll still love me after I admit this but…

I think I’m a Christmas Scrooge.

I’m not a huge fan of Christmas trees (they make a mess), I don’t like turkey (too dry), Christmas pudding (gross) or mulled wine (vom)… BUT I do love glitter, tinsel, brussel sprouts (go figure), crackers (& the silly hats), snow and presents (giving and erm… receiving). HO HUM. I think maybe it’s the forced joyfulness. I’m generally a very joyful and positive person but I definitely don’t like being TOLD to be joyful!

I do however get VERY excited on Christmas morning. I’m always the first up in our house (5am is standard) but it’s the build up that bugs me. Maybe because in my shopping telly days the Christmas set went up in the first week of October and by December 25th I was sick of the sight of all things festive. I was actually exactly the same with the Royal wedding now I come to think of it. I was ‘well over it’ beforehand but on the morning of the big day I got up excitedly and watched the whole BBC coverage from start to finish squealing “I love weddings!” at every opportunity.

Are you nearly ready for Christmas? What do you like and not really like about this time of year (seriously, does anyone actually LIKE turkey?!)

In wedding-land this week it’s full steam ahead. As always there’s been some pretty epic weddingness and I wholeheartedly approve.

Thursday Treats: Christmas Shopping & Colourful Weddings

Happy Thursday my little muffins! The weekend is nearly upon us as we’re edging closer and closer to the big C… oh yes I am so excited for Christmas already. We haven’t got our tree up yet but – and this is a big but – I have managed to start my Christmas shopping which is always a huge weight off my shoulders. Does anybody else get Christmas shopping anxiety!? I never want to be the one to buy the rubbish gifts! Anyway, I’ve broken the seal this year and – shock horror – I’ve actually been enjoying it. I am on the look out for gift guides for geeky, picky and very specific long haired men though. Gareth is impossible to buy for! Any ideas?

How’s the wedding planning going? Are you taking a bit of a break from it for Christmas or forging full steam ahead? Either way, I’ve seen some seriously pretty around the interwebs this week. It seems there’s been a lot of super saturated and really colourful weddings being blogged, which suits me fine – they’re my faves! I know some of these gems will inspire you too…

Until next week…

Kate Moss for Vanity Fair

Happy Thursday gorgeousness! I’ve been having a fantastic time away from my computer this week – yep I’ve done really well staying away. In fact once you get into it it’s really not that difficult! Of course I couldn’t abandon you completely so I had to pop back for a little while to share some lovely clicky links with you all. I hope you enjoy them.

Have any of you been having a digital detox this week too? How have you been getting on?

Thursday Treats: Decorating & Deliberating

Happy Thursday you gorgeous creatures. I hope your week has been as fabulous as possible.

I’ve spent most of my time indoors. It’s oh so glamorous being a blogger don’t you know! For the most part Gala, Shauna and I have been ferociously emailing back and forth about all things Blogcademy. There’s lots of excitement flying around and so much to organise before January (and beyond!) but it’s all just really awesome. As you know, the first date sold out in 24 hours and already more than a third of the tickets to the second event have been snapped up, so if you’re deliberating joining us… in the nicest possible way – hurry up!

Gareth has also been decorating our living room – which is very much overdue a revamp! I can’t wait for it to be done. We’ve also (nearly!) finally agreed on some wallpaper (he still needs a bit of convincing but I think it’s perfection!) and furniture which, believe me, is an achievement in itself! I really can’t wait to have a living space that is uncluttered, nicely decorated and that we’ll actually enjoy spending time in. What a treat!

And in other news, today I’m off to Brighton to go to the Oh My Honey launch party for her new wedding dress collection. I’ve had a little sneak peek already and it’s pretty fab so I can’t wait to see them in the flesh. Cocktails, canapes and wedding dresses? Ahh it’s not all hard work!

Oh! And happy thanksgiving to all my American friends and readers. Don’t stuff yourselves with too much turkey ya hear!?

So what’s been going down elsewhere online then..?
