Last weekend I packed up my hot pink suitcase, hopped in the car with
Ronnie and Craig and drove down to Southampton to get the Ferry to the Isle of Wight! Alongside Sophie and Gareth (my Gareth was at home on kitty watch/ a DIY mission) we spent the weekend in The Scout Hall, an amazing converted – you guessed it – scout hut, pretty much in the middle of nowhere! It. Was. Amazing.
Oh and in case you’re wondering, #
IOWWANKERS was our truly hilarious Instagram hashtag for the weekend. Aren’t we a hoot!?
I’ve never been to the Isle of Wight before, but we picked it for a little getaway because we wanted somewhere remote, and completely away from our everyday lives. Some of you might remember that
our beautiful friend Jo passed away last February, and as awful as that was, the whole situation really shook us into action and made it realise how important it is to make time for your friends. Even when everyone is stupidly busy, it’s so vital. In fact I think it’s more crucial to do it when you’re busy. It can be so easy to assume that everyone knows how much you care about them, but unless you show and tell them, they might not.
So we did just that. We played board games, watched all three Back to the Future movies (my idea of heaven!), drank wine, cried a little, laughed a lot, took photos of the sunset, went for 2am walks in the pitch black, meandered down the beach and played mini golf on Sandown Pier. It was the perfect weekend away. So perfect in fact that I didn’t turn my laptop on once!!
I also made a little video. It’s silly and pointless, but I love it.
Today, I’d love to encourage you to plan that trip with your friends. The one you’ve been talking about for ages but have never found the time for. There is
always time. Even if it’s just one night, one afternoon, one hour… please, make the time for your friends. Weddings & Weddingy Things

Thursday Treats: Christmas Shopping & Colourful Weddings
December 6, 2012
Happy Thursday my little muffins! The weekend is nearly upon us as we're edging closer and closer to the big C... oh yes I am so excited for Christmas already. We haven't got our tree up yet but - and this is a big but - I have managed to start my Christmas shopping which is always a huge weight off my shoulders. Does anybody else get Christmas shopping anxiety!? I never want to be the one to buy the rubbish gifts! Anyway, I've broken the seal this year and - shock horror - I've actually been enjoying it. I am on the look out for gift guides for geeky, picky and very specific long haired men though. Gareth is impossible to buy for! Any ideas?
Thursday Treats: Blissful Spa Days, Koala Cuddles and Surfing Beach Babes!
October 31, 2013
Well, Queensland you certainly haven't disappointed! After a 24 hour journey (London to Dubai to Singapore to Brisbane) I touched down in Australia just before 1am on Sunday morning. I was dreading having such a long flight but I need not have worried. I flew with Emirates, who I’ve never experienced before, and they were amazing! The planes not only had wifi (!!) but power outlets behind every seat… which, when you’re a computer addict like me is a total revelation! I spent most of my time in the air obsessively devouring Homeland episodes (my latest TV obsession) and writing – bliss!
Thursday Treats: OMG Australia, Here I Come!
October 24, 2013
I have no idea what's in store for me over the next three and a half weeks. Having such a packed schedule recently means that I've had little to no time to research much of what Gala, Shauna and I will be getting up to while we're down under. Thank goodness for Virgo friends who obsessively arrange everything on your behalf! All I do know is the week before our first class in Brisbane I've been promised a spa day, surfing lessons, koala cuddling and zip-wiring through a rainforest. WHAT!? Oh you bet ya I'll be reporting back on all this stuff when I return.

It's been a busy few weeks in Rock n Roll Bride Land. This week I attended the Perfect Wedding Awards and today I'm at the 30 year celebration of Sassi Holford party. Last week I was invited to party on the pier with Choccywoccydoodah. Oh it's such a hard life being surrounded by such fabulous yumminess...
(honestly, I'm knackered...it's a good knackered though!)

Wooohooo guess where we're flying off to today!? Yeah I know, I'm subtle aren't I!? Gareth & I are off for 2 weeks and I couldn't be more excited. We've hired an apartment, we're gonna hang out with Gala & Mike (I'm well excited to meet Mr. Darling!) and Megan & Dave who are flying in from Omaha to see us. Thursday Treats – 26th July 2012: Hello Sunshine!
July 26, 2012
Wow, what a scorcher this week has been! I ain't complaining (honest!) but my productivity has gone waaaay down. That glorious sunshine outside my window has just been too darn tempting. I did purchase the brightest neon orange dress known to man though. I am seriously excited to wear blind people in this baby!
I also found out this week that I'm going to be featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine! I don't usually mention my press features here anymore but this is a really exciting one. I'm going to be profiled in their 'So you think you want my job?' section and oh boy I can't wait. Squeeeeeal!
But the biggest news of the week is that a truckload (literally) of copies of issue two of the Rock n Roll Bride print magazine are being delivered to our house tomorrow!! I know, I KNOW It's taken so flippin' long to get this project completed but oh boy it is gonna be worth it. I have a new found respect for anyone in the magazine industry. How they manage to pull together monthly editions is beyond me! Issue two is bigger, better and even more glorious than the first. Again, we've ordered a limited print run, so be sure to pop by the blog 9am on Monday to find out how you can get your hands on a copy! HOLY GUACAMOLE I MIGHT EXPLODE.

October 25, 2012
Gee wizzola what a fortnight! My jet-lagged brain is currently struggling to catch up with life let alone put any kind of semblance of sense into writing some blog posts, so I apologise in advance if this post is a little...chaotic.

Well last week I had a rather exciting letter through my door informing me that I'd be nominated for a Perfect Wedding Award! Now I know awards are not the be all and end all... but hell, I'm not gonna lie, I really want a shiny trophy to put on my mantelpiece!
To vote for me and a plethora of other UK suppliers in the awards, simply click the button below. Voting is opening until 6th August 2012 and the winners will be announced in the magazine out on 5th September... Plus there's even a fancy awards dinner...and I like dinner...and awards... (OK promise I'll shut up now!)
