Romantic & Intimate Elopement on a Sierra Nevada Mountaintop

This wedding is exactly what you’d expect if two beautiful ski and snowboarding instructors met on the top of a mountain and fell in love. And that’s what happened! Germán and Vero met in a cable car on a trip up to the top of the mountain, and so years later, they decided to say their I dos at the very same spot. SWOON.

“After a while and many adventures together, distilling love and happiness without parallel, Vero declared her love to to me”, Germán told us. “And we promised that our wedding would be such a wonderful adventure, and we would unite together, and surrounded by the most important guest in our day… Sierra Nevada, at 3000 metres high, where it all began.”

Spiritual Seductive Tulum Elopement Inspired by Mother Nature

Are. You. Ready?

Jacqueline and Dougal’s elopement in Tulum was next level. I don’t often use the word ‘sexy’ because it usually makes me want to vom, but this wedding was undeniably sexy in a brilliant and powerful way, harnessing the earth’s natural energy for their traditional Mayan ceremony.

“Our theme was Mother Nature and essentially being tied to the earth and the universe.” Jacqueline explains. “It was held at the beautiful Cenote Azul by Playa Del Carmen, which was so dreamy and special. As soon as we arrived at the cenote, we were instantly calm and overwhelmed with joy and happiness. It’s such a spiritual place and there was so much good energy.”

Intimate Bohemian Beach Side Vow Renewal in Gran Canaria

Fittingly for last week’s heatwave, we have Kenzi and Joel’s romantic beach elopement on the blog today, and it is HOT. They took to Gran Canaria to renew their vows in an intimate ceremony, the photos of which are an absolute bohemian dream.

Gran Canaria Wedding Photographer SuperWeddings accompanied them to the beach to capture the passion between the couple. Having first met them at a workshop, Sebastian says “Everyone was so excited at how cool they looked. Kenzi was just stunning, and Joel had the coolest beard and tattoos on the island for sure.”

A Sophisticated & Sexy Wedding in The Philippines: Francis & Mayone

It’s unusual for me to blog engagement sessions, but when I saw Francis & Mayone’s (potentially NSFW!) I really could not resist. After sharing that, I hoped that their wedding might be as awesome (and that they’d send it to me too) and oh boy did they deliver! Glamorous and elegant, personal but spectacular, sexy but sophisticated, these guys sure know how the pull off a wedding in style!

The couple have a long distance relationship, with Francis living New York and Mayone working as a make up artist in the Philippines. “We have a long distance relationship”, wrote Francis, the groom. “I’m based in New York and she’s from the Philippines. We met 5 years ago in the now defunct Friendster. I go home to the Philippines just once a year and so we make the most of it whenever I’m there. Unfortunately, we’re still living separately even though we are now married. Hopefully by the end of next year I can move back to the Philippines permanently. It’s easier to communicate now with FaceTime and Skype and stuff but I really miss her. Oh and by the way, she’s 8 weeks pregnant now. We conceived a month before I left the Philippines!”

Playful, Retro Boudoir

I don’t feature that much boudoir photography, which doesn’t mean that I don’t like it, it means that I don’t like most of what I see of it. However when a session like this one from Sergio Mottola lands on my desk, boy do I approve! Sexy, sensual and girlie without being overtly so. That’s what I love. The shoot almost has a playful, retro tone and you can’t argue that that is way too Rock n Roll for words.

Stop Staring

Jacquie & Robby’s fun yet sexy engagements were sent over to me today. I instantly fell in love with her funky style (her ‘Leopard Lolita Dress’ is by Stop Staring she got it from Daddy-o’s) and their ‘poking-fun’ attitude – gotta love that ‘RIP Rob’ graffiti behind them!

“We had these pictures taken in March 2010 on the outskirts of Baltimore, Maryland” Jacquie explained. “We explored the area and happened to come across the graffiti that said “RIP Rob” and although I usually hate that old idea that once a man is married his life is over, but I couldn’t resist taking a picture seeing that my fiance name is Robby! Also, we stumbled across that old red car and we loved the pictures near the car so much, we used one for our save the dates. If you take a look at the pictures of us near the car, you will notice that a train went by while we were shooting. That day seemed like it was really meant to be.”

Steampunks!

A little bit fashiony, a little bit boudoir – this Steampunk themed photo shoot sent me weak at the knees! Inspired by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland, Sherlock Holmes, New Orleans and Dita Von Teese, photographer Kamila couldn’t wait to put together a shoot like this.

Tasteful, Elegant & Edgy Boudoir

Prompted by my own soiree  into the art as well as the fiery debate on the issue on Eastside Bride, I’ve been thinking about boudoir shoots a lot recently. So, it was almost certainly meant to be that I laid eyes on these perfect examples of tasteful boudoir on Kiss the Groom yesterday. Elegant, classy, edgy, ethereal and sexy all at the same time. Yes, I am definitely pro-boudoir…just as long as it’s done right.

Goth Gal in the Snow

I trust you had a good Christmas and Santa was nice to you? Down my chimney fell a swanky new 18.5″ wide screen monitor (droooool) a Fuji Instax, a PINK Vivienne Westwood bracelet and an ‘eco cup’. These are my favouritest presents. Santa obviously knows me very well – that I am a total blogging and photography geek, that Vivienne Westwood makes me happy and that I drink way too much coffee! I am muchly looking forward to playing with all my new toys and will certainly be scanning in some of my Instax shots soon. Was Santa just as good to you?

Anyway, it’s nice to have you back, it’s been lonely without you dear reader. Although I am going to keep blogging between now and new year, the posts maybe a bit sparcer than usual. I’ll still be here, plugging along though, so please don’t hesitate to still get in touch if you need too.

The winter submissions have poured in over the festive period so I’m going to get right back into it with this snowy graveyard shoot from Jeffrey Chan Tin. Bridal shoots in graveyards always seem to provoke some kind of controversy (who knows!?) but how can anybody argue that these images aren’t ridiculously stunning? I really do love the snow…

The Real World

I know I get seemingly over excited with everything I blog, but when Rock n Roll Bride gets to bring you exclusive first shows of weddings like this can you blame me?!

Audra & Bryan’s wedding is modern, sexy, uber stylish and crazy full of love! The event took place at Me by Melia which was recently the home to the cast of The Real World. Andra looks stunning in her cute dress which she got from Nordstroms.

Enjoy little ones…
