I've got a bit of a triple hitter for you today - a feature in 3 parts. I was sent some images by Jonathan Canlas that he took at one of his world renowned photography workshops entitled Film is Not Dead, which was held last month in San Diego. He sent over shots of 3 equally gorgeous and totally Rock n Roll couples so I'm going to feature them all. Here we go with couple number one - Stacey & Chris.Read more...

If you're a regular reader of Rock n Roll Bride I'm sure you'll already be aware of the amazing Emma Case (she shot the image that I'm currently using as my blog header/my 'Punk Rock n Roll Bride' shoot) and Lucy Ledger Designs. Lucy makes gorgeously creative vintage-inspired stationary (I've also been lucky enough to feature her before as well as meet her in actual real life!) After Lucy saw Emma's work on Rock n Roll Bride she got in touch asking if they could get together to do a promotional shoot for her vintage stationary company. Hello!? Match made in vintage Rock n Roll heaven or what!?Read more...

I was excited when I featured Olivia & Mark's engagement session a few weeks ago (they are another Rock n Roll Bride couple and found their photographer Lisa Devlin on the blog) but when Lisa sent me in their wedding the other day I was even more excited! I really do have the best readers don't I!? "Olivia & Mark are originally from LA and wanted to give their friend's and family a quintessentially English experience for their wedding" Lisa told me. "When we woke up in The Cotswolds to the sound of lashing rain, I thought they were going to get the full glory of a British Summer and it would be wellies all round. Their optimism was infectious and everything was set up for an outdoor ceremony in the grounds of Barnsley House, although some bin bags were left on their paper lanterns until the last moment. This has got to be one of the most gorgeous venues in England and the sun came out as Olivia crossed the lawn with her Dad, causing Mark to well up. I loved that she went for full-on glamour with lashes and deep red lips, it went well with her dramatic dress. Her close friend, Josh was the 'bridesmaid' and did such a stirling job, I'm thinking of hiring him for other weddings."Read more...

Sarah & Ben, have been married for 4 years and wanted to do a vintage rustic themed anniversary shoot in a park. I love Bryan & Claira's adorable rustic, homespun wedding. It was held at Hill Country Village, which is right out in the middle of the country that surrounds Shreveport, LA. "It has an old grocery store, a couple old farm houses and this big brick venue where we held our reception. The wedding itself was outside amongst all of these fun old buildings" Claira told me.Read more...

There ain't no one that 'did it their own way' as much as Ted & Tamara. "Our budget 'tree of life' themed day was filled with love" they began their email to me last week. "With a limited budget, I set out to make our special for us with simple tree stumps found along the Mississippi River. Our bridal party wore simple summer-loving attire that are so 're-usable'. My J Crew dream dress was found on ebay for $80. Orchids sang, yellow petals danced, willow branches waved all around us. Pure bliss." The couple only spend $2000 on their perfect wedding day. "When I started dreaming up my wedding," Tamara continued "we were going to be starting a new life together. I always think of trees as representing life and when Ted found the perfect pieces of driftwood from the Mississippi River for us to use we knew that was what sort of wedding we wanted. We wanted a ceremony to be sweet, meaningful with a fun casual atmosphere."Read more...

One of the greatest things about my job as a blogging maestro is all the wonderful people I get to meet...and it's even better when we get to meet in real life! The delightful Emma Case is down in London for a few weeks and so emailed me and suggested we meet up go out for Sushi. Now, those that know me will be well aware that I'm not one to say no to Sushi! We met up last Tuesday and immediately hit it off, talking non-stop about wedding planning, photography, blogging, husbands, proposals, flowers, music...you know the drill! I was particularly excited to hear about some fabulous weddings she's shot over the past few weeks and lucky for you I got first dibs on sharing them all with you (score!)Read more...

I am literally dying over Steve and Caitlin's personal, intimate wedding. The wedding took place at The Wilder Mansion in Elmhurst, Illinois, which at one point, used to be the Elmhurst Library. Steve & Caitlin drew from this (and their love of books) for some of the detail themes. They made library catalogue cards as their escort cards and each table was named after a different book. They had old photos of their families going back generations scattered throughout the mansion, and also had a room full of antique games for guests to play. They decided to save money was by creating their own bouquets and they actually used fake flowers! Caitlin's dress was from J.Crew and the bridesmaids each chose their own black dress.Read more...

Oh squeeeeal! I'm not sure I can say anything more intellectual about Luke & Charis' wedding, in fact I think only 'squeeeal' will cover it. So. Much. Awesome! "This couple was married in a barn at Sharon Rose Farm in Greenville SC" photographer Anna told me "The bride is a hair stylist, the groom is a drummer - so the music and the style was fabulous and original. I thought what was so rock n roll about this wedding was that the bride made surprise stick-on tattoos to replicate her new husband's favorite tattoo on his arm, and all the guests had a mini tattoos during the reception just like the groom!" Charis wore a dress from David's Bridal and she asked her bridesmaids to simply pick their own black dress. When Charis and her bridesmaids walked into the venue someone said, "It looks like an anthropologie catalogue just walked in!" The ceremony and reception were held in a beautiful red renovated horse barn. It was such a nice mix of rustic farm, elegant chandeliers and vintage flare. There were mason jars with wild flowers, and baskets of peanuts on cocktail tables as guests mingled and sipped lemonade before the entering the barn. An old typewriter was used as a to write notes to the bride and groom, and a sweet bird cage to put them in. Just sit back and enjoy these - I know you will! The UK is seriously on fire this week and I've got another fantastic British wedding so share with you. However this one is extra extra special as Sally & Peter actually found their photographer, Kate, through Rock n Roll Bride! Woo to the Hoo! Kate talked all about Sally & Peter and their wonderfully eclectic day on her own blog: I am in actual love with Sally's purple shrug and woolen gloves. What a ridiculously stylish and wonderfully quirky couple. I love it all! Thanks to Kate for sharing this wedding and I am so happy that in a small way I was a part of it! The second UK wedding of the day is Clare & Dean's classically beautiful rustic, vintagey romantic wedding. They employed the talents of my good friend Penny Merricks of Tigerlily Weddings to plan their day to perfection. Didn't she do a fabulous job? "I made all the invites that featured vintage lovebird stamps and 'to have and to hold' ribbon from Cox & Cox" Clare told me. "Also I handmade the luggage tags for place cards with same vintage bird stamps and ribbon. I asked friends and family to collect glass jam jars for months, and we covered them with lace and ribbon for tea-light holders. A designer friend of ours also made the booklet that contained the history of the barn, order of ceremony, pictures of our parents and grandparents on their wedding days, the menu and the last page contained a quiz about us both... also using the same vintage love bird stamps." Even though the couple wed in the UK, the bride bought her dress at David's Bridal in Dallas (hello exchange rate!) Her shrug was from Cornelia James and her shoes were Peto by Rainbow Couture. Clare's vintage style matching pearl and diamante necklace, bracelet and earrings by Dulcie Angel and her diamante hair clip instead of a tiara fwas rom Glitzy Secrets. Stand by, hold onto your hats and behold the post of a million photos! Coined by photographer Noa as The Most Beautiful Wedding Ever (and yes, I pretty much agree!) It doesn't get more Rock n Roll perfect than this! Sommer & Dan's wedding took place in an old mill is Somerset, New Jersey which is owned by Dan's parents. The bride wore a 1950s prom dress from Ebay and snakeskin Kate Spade shoes. The groom rocked it in a custom suit with spiderweb lining and the bridesmaids looked the part in leopard print shoes. To top off the day, Bruce, the family pet rooster, served as ring bearer and apparently he did a great job! Thanks to Siobhan for sharing this awesome wedding with us...Ooooh I adore my readers! Bridget & James got married at a glassworks in downtown Louisville, KY. Doesn't their yellow colour scheme invoke a perfectly joyous feeling?! Love the orange/yellow and black combo of everything. Bridget's awesome polka dot dress came from Unique Vintage but was altered a little by her Mum who tweaked the fit and added the polka dot sash.
