May 8, 2014

Jo and Tony were married by a small lake on a friend's property in Denmark, on the south coast of Western Australia. The bride wore a dress from an op shop (she actually only decided the morning of the wedding what she would be wearing, after several changes of clothes!) and clear wellington boots! Tony wore an outfit also put together that morning from things he already owned or could borrow from friends. As you can probably tell this was the lowest of low key weddings!

Nordica

April 16, 2014

Marissa and Lauren were married in the gardens of St. Anne's Academy in Victoria, British Columbia. They wanted their wedding to be intimate and frugal, except when it came to their photographs. They knew those had to be incredible so they booked the AMAZING Nordica Photography who flew over from Stockholm to shoot the day. The made the picnic baskets themselves, including almond stuffed figs which were grown, dried and made by Marissa's grandmother in Portugal. "Two red ripe cherries joined together, what better symbol of partnership? Red also means strong and passionate love. The sweetness symbolises happiness and the joined top symbolised commitment and togetherness. It became our logo for all of our stationary and guest favors. It was the background detail for the whole event."

I have something really beautiful and unusual for you today, I just know you're going to love it! Kristin and Ky were hitched at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Florida. Their outdoor wedding was made as colourful as possible with the addition of paint... lots of paint! The bride wore a full face of geisha-style face paint, her dress was splattered with it (which she did herself), they painted each other as part of the ceremony and they had an artist on hand to do their guests too!

Steven and Beth were married at Penarth Fawr Medieval Hall in June. Their reception was held in a marquee in the grounds of Gorwel Cottage, a holiday rental with sea views over Cardigan Bay and Pwllheli harbour. They didn't have a huge budget and so they homemade as much as they could including the flowers and stationery. They also had an afternoon tea and evening BBQ as their food which was a lot cheaper than many of the other options that they looked at.
