Brendan and Cheyenne come from Reno, Nevada which, by their own admission, is known for it’s super-speedy drive thru weddings and wild nightlife. “This didn’t really fit us,” explained Cheyenne. “We wanted something small and intimate, and we wanted to take our time and make it special in our own way. We love to travel together, and I've always been totally drawn to the ocean, so we decided on Hawaii.”Read more...

They met in 2010 when she was dating someone else, but Rachel and Zac finally got together when that relationship ended in 2012. Living in Los Angeles they would go to bars together with mutual friends and eventually they made it official! For their June 2019 nuptials they decided on a destination wedding in Hawaii. The day was held at Paliku Gardens at Kualoa Ranch, a beautiful location with the most stunning panoramic views of the mountains and ocean.Read more...

Oh I do love seeing a bride who's brave with her wedding outfit. Mind you, if I had Stephanie's figure I'd most likely be wearing a jumpsuit every day of my life! She married Ben in February at a cottage that they rented in Kauai, Hawaii.Read more...

When wedding photographer Trish Barker emailed me back in October telling me she'd just shot Gene Simmons' vow renewal and asked if would I like to feature it, well, I just about died. To say this is the ultimate Rock n Roll wedding is a massive understatement. I am ridiculously honoured to be sharing this bad ass and beautiful ceremony on Rock n Roll Bride today!Read more...

Marina & Phil wanted a small and intimate destination wedding in Maui. They love to travel and adore the water so a ceremony at Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm followed by an after dinner boat cruise was perfect! "We love the outdoors", Marina wrote. "In particular, we love picnics with a great view. That's what we ended up doing - a wonderful picnic on a mountain on a tropical island. We laugh that we could not decide whether to get married on a mountain or on a tropical island, so did both. We also decided to have our wedding on the 4th of July because we wanted fireworks!"Read more...

As a colour fiend (and unapologetically so) its unusual for me to fall head over heels with such a neutrally coloured wedding. But as soon as I laid eyes on Timothy & Sherra's intimate ocean view ceremony and dramatic portraits on the beach I knew I had to blog it. The day was held at the Four Seasons Resort in Hualalai where the couple were married on the beach with just a few witnesses.Read more...

When it came to shooting Rachael (from Maui) and Tim's (from Florida) engagement shoot, where else could be as perfect as on the beach? "These guys are all about the beach and rock the surf style," said photographer Wendy Laurel. "I mean who else wears their bikini on their engagement shoot? The shoot was at one of their favorite beaches on Maui, Ironwoods, and in the Honolua Valley (next to the famed Honolua Bay). Both places are on the upper west side of Maui where lots of good surf and a large surf community can be found."Read more...

Quay & Jory were married under a giant tree, on the beach in Maui, Hawaii. "The wedding was very non traditional," photographer Molly Marie told me. "It was a gay wedding, almost everything was DIY, both girls love tattoos, and planned the entire wedding themselves. The wedding was not for anyone else but them, pure love. However they knew family wouldn't be able to attend easily as they are from Eau Claire, WI, so photography was a very important part of the wedding to them."Read more...

Although vintage inspired weddings are exceptionally popular, the 1960's is an era I don't see replicated as often as I'd like. However this all changed when Rosa & Doug's incredibe wedding landed on my desk. I swooned, I let out a little squeal and I emailed them back right away saying "yeah baby!" The wedding took place at Don the Beachcomber, a bar on Huntington Beach, CA. Rosa wore a custom dress by Dolly Couture, made especially for her and inspired by a genuine vintage dress pattern she'd seen in a 1963 copy of Modern Bride. The bride's accessories and jewellery were all vintage and mostly found on eBay.Read more...

I think you're going to love Kim & Paul's wedding - its the perfect post for a gorgeous sunny Monday like today! The couple, from Colorado, got married at Ke Iki Beach Bungalows, on the North Shore of Oahu. They went diy crazy and did a lot of the wedding themselves - from the flowers (which they bought wholesale) to the homemade veil. "We really wanted our wedding to be a 'non-wedding wedding' that was as unique as we were and at the same time have a super fun beach party!" Kim told me." We also wanted to involve our family and friends... so thankful we have so many creative people in our lives to help (flowers, hair, make-up, firecrackers!). Even though I didn't buy one bridal magazine or try on any dresses, I definitely perused the wedding-porn online that was tailored for the independent thinking brides. We didn't want to give in to the 'wedding industrial complex' and doing things the way they are "suppose" to be. I think that I've always been a non-traditionalist which is why I chose to forgo the cliche white dress and khaki Hawaiian beach wedding for one that was more colorful, stylish, elegant but still casual enough for the beach. We had an amazing time with all of the special people in our lives in a place that is very special to us."Read more...

I have featured the work of Marina from Red Heart Photography a number of times recently, every time she sends me something I am stopped in my tracks! Christina & Justin had a personal ceremony in Kona (it was just the two of them - you can't get more intimate that that!) and then followed it up with an amazing photo session with the lovely Marina. She wore amazing red shoes. He wore kick ass snakeskin boots. I looked at these and melted. Marina I heart you..thanks for the sharing! Credit: Red Heart PhotographyRead more...
