The beautiful wedding of Anna and Luke took place at Victorian Marriage Registry, Melbourne followed by a casual lunch at Golden Orchids Malaysian Restaurant (where they had their first date!) and an evening reception at North Fitzroy Star. Nothing about this wedding was traditional. Wedding planning messes with your brain. Even if you’re the most laid-back human alive, your subconscious will still find ways to throw curveballs at 3am. Don’t panic: pre-wedding dreams aren’t omens, they’re just your nervous system running dress rehearsals for all the big stuff - love, money, family, visibility, identity. Basically, your brain is binge-screening your anxieties like it’s Netflix.Read more...

This week I was invited onto BBC Radio 4 to talk about a photographer who scammed a bunch of couples by taking their money and either not showing up, sending someone else (who they then had to pay again!) and/or never delivering any photos. Luckily, situations like this are very rare, but she shared a few tips on how to avoid it happening to you. There was so much more I wanted to say on air, so I'm taking matters into my own hands and leaving the rest of my advice here!Read more...

There’s something magical about saying “I do” under twinkling lights in your own backyard. A backyard wedding can feel warm, personal, and unforgettable, but only if it’s done the right way. From the post-pandemic engagement gap to the ever-mounting cost-of-living crisis, it’s hardly surprising that the wedding industry is having a tough time.
