Casual Melbourne Wedding: Anna & Luke

The beautiful wedding of Anna and Luke took place at Victorian Marriage Registry, Melbourne followed by a casual lunch at Golden Orchids Malaysian Restaurant (where they had their first date!) and an evening reception at North Fitzroy Star. Nothing about this wedding was traditional. The bride wore a non-wedding dress from theoutnet.com, the cakes and desserts were made by their loved ones instead of a wedding cake and instead of an expensive wedding car they either walked or caught taxi's from place to place.

Well this is something I didn't ever think I'd post - a shark themed wedding! I love nothing more than being surprised by the weddings that land in my inbox and Kelly and Jack's was certainly one that did that. The celebration was held at Tybee Island Wedding Chapel. "Our wedding theme was sharks with an explosion of everything we love!" began the bride. "We had bold bright colors with accents from things like mermaids, tattoo imagery, and of course, more sharks!"

Last year I attended, spoke at and organised more live events than ever before. While hard work, they are also incredibly rewarding and so much fun to do. I'm thrilled that doing them is such a huge part of my business now. The Blogcademy in particular has changed my life so much! The first live events I hosted were parties for blog readers and people in the wedding industry, I then moved on to doing small afternoon-long, in-person blogging workshops before launching The Blogcademy with Gala and Shauna in 2012. Needless to say I've learnt a lot of lessons about what does and does not work when putting on events.
