Psychedelic 1950s Wedding: Craig & Melanie

My Beautiful Bride

January 10, 2014

When wedding photographer Michael of My Beautiful Bride told me that Craig and Melanie were one of his most adventurous couples yet, I took it with a pinch of salt. But then I saw their wedding day portraits where they got into a bath of water - fully clothed - with their dog! Not that's something you don't see everyday. If, like Melanie, you're not bothered about keeping your wedding dress pristine, you totally need to do something like this. How fun!

New Year, New Productivity

Kat

January 7, 2014

Time management and productivity tips are littered all over the internet. In fact it might be one of the most searched for topics, but it's still something people always ask me about. 'Getting shit done' isn't rocket science though and just like anything difficult, there's no magic bullet answer or one trick that will transform you into a productivity wizard. While getting sucked into social media, crap on the telly or Pinterest are all key factors, it is your overall mindset that really needs to change if you're going to be your most productive self.

Claudia Rose Carter

January 6, 2014

As the weddings showcased on this blog show, there are a million different ways to say "I do". A large family gathering, a small DIY affair, or a budget friendly backyard bash - the possibilities are endless. While wedding blogs are great for showing you style inspiration when planning your own big (or small!) day, I'm yet to see one actually publish a really comprehensive guide on how to physically plan a wedding.

Gasp

January 6, 2014

Abbie and Chris were married at The Stables in Brinkburn Briory, a unique venue that really helped to set the tone of their day. "I think the venue for us was probably one of the most unique parts of our wedding", Abbie told me. "There hadn't been many weddings before ours there and the derelict building next to the priory has featured on the TV show 'Most Haunted'. It was a beautiful place for pictures."

January 5, 2014

Becca and Chris were married at Larmer Tree Gardens on the Dorset/ Wiltshire border. They wanted their day to be small and stress-free so they only had nine guests. "We didn't have a theme for our wedding, we just picked things we loved, without thinking too carefully about whether they would match," began the bride. "That's why I wore an art deco dress, the car was from the 1950s and our entertainment was a Mariachi band mash-up! The main thing was that we wanted our love of travel to come across, so we had a lot of map bunting, colour, and a global influence to our food and music."

High School Prom Wedding: Elizabeth & Juan

2 and 3

January 3, 2014

Elizabeth and Juan wanted their December wedding to be just like a High School Prom. "Our wedding theme helped everyone get in to the Prom spirit, attendees dressed in prom attire, and we went absolutely crazy with balloons", began the bride. "Our wedding party was such a mixed, motley crowd. We wanted everyone to have fun and use their own style for their outfits. We wanted to run screaming from the traditional thing and my's dream came true with my perfect pink dress. Our officiant even wore a purple prom dress!"

Epic Las Vegas Elopement: Ainsley & Sebastien

Janneke Storm

January 2, 2014

When I featured Ainsley and Sebestien's engagement shoot in September I dubbed it "the coolest engagement shoot to date". I was pretty sure that their wedding would be suitably kick ass too but nothing (and I mean nothing!) could have prepared me for this. While I was hanging out with their wedding photographer Janneke Storm in Queensland, she started to tell me more about their upcoming elopement in Las Vegas. I made her promise then and there to send me the photos to blog afterwards. Luckily for me (and you!) she did.

Congratulations you're engaged! If you're new around these parts I'd like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR and a big fat hello. I am so excited to meet you. This is going to be one of the most awesome / stressful / exciting / fulfilling / hair-tearing (delete as appropriate) rides of your life and I for one can't wait for you to get started. I loved planning my wedding so much that I made it into my career. Gareth & I were married in April 2008. I started this blog to document the journey and I haven't stopped since. That's me at the top by the way, doing what I do best, lying around in glitter and confetti!
