Don’t worry I haven’t booked in for a nose job… I’m talking about giving Rock n Roll Bride a facelift!

The blog has had the same logo and branding for over five years now, and with the magazine taking off like it is I felt it was high time for for a spot of TLC. Shauna and I have been going back and forth on some ideas and believe me when I say it is looking utterly incredible! Watch out wedding magazine world, Rock n Roll Bride is coming for ya!

Things are also chugging on excellently with the next issue of the magazine by the way. Remember, its’s on sale September 3rd and you can pre-order a copy right now. Over half of the stock we have allocated for online orders have already sold so if you’d like to snap one up and have it shipped directly to you, order it today!

Okey doke, here’s a round up of all the internetty things that I’ve been loving this week:

Thursday Treats: Watch Me on Ireland AM Tomorrow!

Sam Hurt at Photography farm (8)

Sam Hurd

As you read this I’m on route to Dublin where I’ve been invited on to Ireland AM, Ireland’s version of This Morning, tomorrow! I’ll be on around 8.15am so Irish babes, set those alarms!

It’s been a busy week. On Tuesday Gareth and I popped down to the Photography Farm (it’s fast becoming my home away from home!) to model for Sam Hurd‘s workshop for wedding photographers. Sam is a FANTASTIC photographer from the US so when we were asked to do it I jumped at the chance without even consulting Gareth – whoops! Luckily he was as up for it as I was. He’s getting to be a right poser you know (not quite as bad as me but that would be hard..!) Shooting with Sam was the most fun and I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos he took!

Then Wednesday I was on MOH duties again going to see more potential wedding venues with my sister. It’s SO FUN seeing how their wedding ideas are coming together already. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is going to be the coolest wedding ever. I’ve been spending all my extra time firing off enquiries to caterers, florists, photographers and videographers… believe me when I say I am very organised about this shit – ha!

I hope you’ve had a good week, take a load off and enjoy some Thursday Treats whydontya!?

Thursday Treats: I’m a Rock n Roll Bride Because…

Lisa Jane Photography

Helping my sister plan her wedding is taking over my life! OK, I’m totally kidding, but I have thrown myself wholeheartedly into the process. The first port of call has been finding a suitable venue, and goodness isn’t that bit hard? We’ve been looking high and low for somewhere to host a festival style wedding around Berkshire/ Oxfordshire that doesn’t cost the earth and isn’t already booked up for next Summer and it’s proving tricky, but we’ll get there! I found the whole venue finding thing the hardest part of planning our wedding so I guess nothing’s changed there. If you too are having a venue search nightmare, I feel your pain!

In less stressful news, don’t forgot you have until Sunday to enter to win a pair of tickets to the National Wedding Show in London. The prize also includes VIP access to my Q&A and the meet and greet, plus you’ll get to take home a signed copy of Rock n Roll Bride magazine. All you have to do to enter is comment on the post completing the sentence “I’m a Rock n Roll Bride because…” easy!

I hope you’ve had a good week. Here are some extra lovely things to occupy your brain for a while…

Thursday Treats: The Bearded Bad Ass

harnaam and rocknrollbride

Guess who I hung out with this week?! The amazing Harnaam Kaur aka the Bearded Dame aka the flower beard bridal lady aka my new best bad ass friend! After I featured her shoot and I realised she lived in Slough, which is literally 20 minutes from where I live in Reading, I emailed her almost demanding that we meet for coffee. Well, that quick coffee turned into a four hour gossip sesh, shopping marathon and lunch date! Now only is she hella inspiring — I could listen to her talk for hours — but she’s totally hilarious, humble and just flat out lovely!

But the excitement didn’t stop there, in other news this week my baby sister Rachel got engaged!!! I’ll be honest, I’ve already been sending her links and ideas every single day and have started booking her wedding dress appointments with gusto! I’m trying not to get carried away but it’s hard not to. This is going to be the coolest, most awesome wedding ever!

Congratulations Rachel and Jamie! (Here they are modelling at the Photography Farm a couple of years ago – totally bride and groom material right!?)

Thursday Treats: London to Marrakesh to Rome to Florence!

copyright Lisa Jane Photography

London to Marrakesh to Rome to Florence. It’s been a busy few weeks of fun and adventure and even though our luggage got lost on the way back to London and I still don’t have it back (grr!) I couldn’t have had a better time if I tried! If you’ve been considering Morocco or Italy as honeymoon destinations you have to do it. I’ll be sharing all my top tips, including where we stayed, shopped, ate and visited, for both places really soon.

Taking a two weeks out when I have so much going on work-wise right now might have been a bit daunting (read: it was VERY daunting) but I’m so glad I did it. Work can always be caught up on, life can not!

I actually took a major break from being online while we were away too. I hardly replied to any emails and I pre-scheduled all my blog posts so I didn’t have to do anything pressing. I took the opportunity to soak up unfamiliar cities, to lie by pools, to take thousands of photos, to buy questionable gifts and to eat and drink nearly everything in sight – it was glorious! And I got to do it all with two of my very best friends. How lucky am I?

Marrakesh really is as vibrant and colourful as you’d expect…

And Italy is just as magical!

I’m back in the UK now and I’ve hit the ground running! Shauna and I are working full steam ahead on the magazine design for the next issue. We have some surprises up our sleeves too, I can’t wait for you all to see it! Remember, if you’d like to pre-order a copy you can do so right now. It costs £4.99 (including free postage if you’re in the UK) and we ship worldwide.

Thursday Treats: Life Is About to Get Cray

venice beach rocknrollbride made u look photography (18)

made u look

I thought I’d quickly fill you in on what I have planned for the next few weeks. It’s going to be MENTAL.

First up, its the Blogcademy workshop this weekend (13th and 14th June) in London! I can’t wait because the UK workshops are always so fun and colourful. This time around we have the amazing babes at Bespoke Bride decorating the space and Anges de Sucre providing us with delicious treats. Her flavoured marshmallows are heaven in sugar form so believe me when I say it’s going to be an amazing class!

The workshop is technically full, but if you’d like to come along, I’m pretty sure we can make an exception squeeze you in. Have a read of our syllabus over on The Blogcademy website and feel free to drop us an email if you have any questions. Remember, this is the only European live date we are doing until at least this time next year, so book in now or forever hold your peace!

Then, after the class Gala, Shauna and I are going on a whistle-stop trip to Marrakesh, Rome, Florence and Venice. It’s going to be busy but so amazing, and I can’t wait!!! Have you been to any of those places? We have just have a couple of days in each city, so I’d love if you could let me know any must-sees and dos! Be sure to follow me on Instagram if you want to join in with my travel adventures.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL. I have some seriously exciting news to share with you on Monday. It’s taken a while to get things organised enough to be able to finally reveal what’s been going on, BUT IT IS BIG. Be sure to pop by the blog first thing on 15th because you won’t want to miss it!

Oh, before I forget, have you joined the Rock n Roll Bride Facebook group yet!? There’s over 2500 people in there and it’s so awesome. The girls and guys in there really are incredible. They’ve all be helping each other plan their weddings and it makes me feel all warm and glowy inside. You need to come and join the party!
