I am very much looking forward to this weekend because Ronnie and Sophie are coming to stay. On Saturday we’re having a ‘crafternoon’, which we totally take the piss out of ourselves for saying, but it’s going to be suuuuper fun!
We’re going to be working on some DIY projects that I’ll be featuring on the blog soon. As you probably already know, I am DIY-phobic (AKA I suck at it) so I’ve had to call in the reinforcements. It’s all good though because one of them involves cocktails!!I’ve been ferociously scouring Amazon for ingredients all week and getting very excited over things like edible glitter and rose flavoured syrup!
Oh! And last weekend was quite monumental too because Gareth did a skydive! He is notoriously difficult to buy gifts for because he really doesn’t care about material things and never wants anything (except, like, motherboards and graphics cards and boring techy computer equipment which I really can’t buy for him!) So, for Christmas I decided to get him an experience instead of just pointless bits of junk that will sit around our house, and for some crazy reason I thought of a skydive.
He said he wasn’t nervous beforehand (yeah right!) but once he’d done it he was high as a kite on adrenaline and said it was the most amazing thing he’d ever done! If you’re looking for a unique gift for something that’s tricky to buy for (and a bit of an adrenalin junkie!) then I can totally recommend.
Aww so cute in his purple jumpsuit!
So how have you been? What are your plans this weekend?
PS Issue 3 of the print magazine is very nearly ready to go to print! It’s on sale April 30th and if you own a wedding business and would be interested in advertising be sure to get in touch!
Greetings and salutations from my spare bedroom! As many of you will know, I’ve had a busy couple of years travelling so much with The Blogcademy. Pretty much every other month I was packing my bags and heading off somewhere else.
It’s been awesome, and I loved seeing so many new places and meeting so many amazing people. However when I got back from my last trip a couple of weeks ago, I realised I wouldn’t be hopping on a plane again until September! Weeeeeeeeeeird. Our next live workshop is in London in June so all that requires from me is a 20 minute train journey! I’m actually really looking forward to being at home though. There’s a lot going on with Rock n Roll Bride, so having my feet firmly on UK soil for a while is no bad thing!
Spending the majority of the last seven days in my sweatpants, in front of my computer, means I’ve found plenty of internet-ty things to keep you entertained this afternoon too. Enjoy!
Last week I spent five glorious days in Las Vegas. While a lot of people claim that a couple of nights in Sin City is more than enough, I couldn’t disagree more! I had a great time and could have stayed for a month! I’ll be writing all about my trip in epic detail soon (including sharing all about the David Copperfield and Britney Spears shows – both were incredible!) If you’re planning to marry or honeymoon in Vegas you are in for a treat.
To whet your appetite, here’s a silly little holiday video we made of our adventures. Yes, we danced a LOT!
Aww we had so much fun! Right now, I’m back in my office, catching up with approximately 10364 emails, making plans for issue 3 of the magazine (gosh it comes round so fast!) and planning some fun DIY projects which I’ll be sharing on the blog over the coming months. IT’S ALL GOOD.
Talking of the magazine, have you got issue 2 yet? What do you think? I’d love to see some selfies of you with it on Instagram and Twitter. Make sure you tag me (@RocknRollBride) in the photo and there are extra bonus points for any with puppies in… after all there are cute canines on the cover (surely that’s got to be a wedding magazine first?) My favourites will be published in the next issue which is out in May.
I have so much internet-ty goodness for your this week, so grab a cuppa (I’m drinking mine out of my new flamingo mug!) and dive in!
Hey beautiful! This update comes to you from a very sunny, very lovely Venice Beach. Try not to hate me too much, I am here working – I promise!
This weekend sees the first live Blogcademy workshop of the year and I can’t wait. We’ve got a cute venue, some awesome décor items (perfect for Instagrammin’) from Touch of Magic and 20 eager beavers ready to learn all about blogging. If you’re a bit of a last minute Larry and you’d like to come along we can still fit you in. This is our only US class until September so if you’re considering learning with us in-person, hop to it.
This week has been a BUSY one. I’ve been here there and everywhere (not to mention flying across the world!) so this week’s Thursday Treats is a bit on the lighter side. But everything in here is worth a click so I hope you enjoy it regardless!
Have a great weekend everyone. I love you all endlessly.
It’s hard to believe that this time next week I’ll be in LA where it’s currently 25 degrees Celsius! I’m there to teach the first Blogcademy workshop of the year and we’re staying right by the beach which is just what my sun-starved skin needs right now!
After the class, we’ve decided to head to to Vegas for a few days. Last year was a biggie in Blogcademy and Rock n Roll Bride-land, so it’s a well deserved treat. Gala, Shauna and I actually only came together as a trio for the first time in Vegas in 2012 so going back there together is going to be like a glorious full circle. And even though none of us like to gamble or party very hard (a glass of wine whilst rocking our PJs in our hotel room is much more our style!) Vegas is still one of my favourite places the three of us have hung out. Plus this time we’re going to see magicians… and Britney!
As usual while I’m travelling, the blog will still be updated at least once a day so keep popping back to get your wedding fix. Oh, and issue 2 of the print magazine hits the shelves on March 5th (it will also be available via my shop page) so be sure put that date in your diary too!
A little sneaky preview of one of the real wedding spreads inside issue 2!
It’s come around so damn quickly but today I’m off to see “the book” (I’m sooo The Devil Wears Prada right now) and to sign off issue 2 of the magazine! I have to say, I think this second edition might be even better than the first. I had to write and pull together issue 1 really quickly, so having a bit more time to really make things perfect was such a treat!
And the cover! Oh my goodness, just you wait until you see it! I can’t share it just yet but have one word for you… puppies!
The second edition hits the shelves of WhSmiths, Morrisons and independent newsagents on March 5th and it will also be available to order online on the same day. As issue 1 sold out for online orders in less than 72 hours I’d also suggest setting a reminder in your calender, I’d hate for you to miss out again! Alternatively you can skip the queue and treat yourself to a subscription! Not long now…
