Isn’t the photo at the top of this post beautiful? It’s one of my best friends, Katie, who got engaged at Christmas and is getting married in March (they’re doing it so quickly and it’s well exiting!) Photographer Lisa Jane came to Reading last week to do their engagement shoot and after seeing just this one frame on her blog I can’t wait for the rest!

I also asked Lisa if she could do some new headshots for me. I’m keeping most of them offline for now, but some of the outtakes were so funny I had to share them…

What a knobber…

In other news, this is the last Thursday Treats for a fortnight because I’m off to Vegas next week! Don’t worry my pretties, I promise to be back with a bumper edition on Thursday 1st March to make up for the absence.

I also want to give a little mention to my girls at Upper Street Shoes who featured me on their blog again this week. They asked me if I wanted to design some more shoes…well I couldn’t say no to that could I!?

So, what have you been loving this week? Why not share some of your favourite links in the comments below?

Happy February! I have a feeling this month is going to be more than amazing because in 13 days I’m going to Las Vegas baby!! I’ll be there for WPPI - Wedding & Portrait Photographers International – i.e. a kick ass event in which 15,000 wedding photographers descend on Vegas for a week of learning and partying! Some of the most amazing wedding photographers are speaking… Jasmine Star, Jose Villa, Elizabeth Messina, Becker, The Greys… and so many photographers that I’ve only ‘met’ online are going to be there too (any of you reading this right now? Let me know in the comments!)

I am ridiculously crapping it nervous but also ridiculously squealing with delight excited all at the same time. Seriously, for a wedding photography nerd like me this is huge!

I’ll also be catching up with Gala & Nubby while I’m there and we are doing a shoot together. I could just about squeal with excitement. But I mustn’t…well certainly not in public anyway.

OK I better sit down before I fall down, why not join me in some Thursday Treats?

It feels like the world is spinning at an extra super duper fast speed for me right now. My mind is filled with so many upcoming projects, ideas and top-secret-things-I’m-not-allowed-to-tell-anyone-about-but-if-I-don’t-soon-I-might-burst-burst-BURST!

And breathe…

However one of these things I am allowed to share with you now is that this week I went to visit my girl Lisa Devlin in Brighton to discuss the next Photography Farm. Remember how I modelled in an ‘Over the Rainbow’ style shoot at the last one? Well for the next event, on March 13th-15th, Lisa has asked me to style the shoot and for Roo to model in it. It’s a Rock n Roll Bride takeover! My ideas are a little crazy (there’s a little insight with the image at the top of this article actually) but I’m so excited about how it’s all panning out so far. As well as styling, I’ll also be a guest speaker at the workshop, sharing some of my wisdom and tips on all things blog.

Quick shameless plug: If you’re a wedding photographer and you fancy a trip to the Photography Farm with me, click here for all the info, prices and how to book your spot. I look forward to seeing some of you there!

Mkay…I know why you’re all here – treats! treats! treats!

This week has been a little bit over-exciting. On Monday I had a meeting with Ian Stuart…yes the actual Ian Stuart. When I got an email from his office before Christmas saying he’d love to meet me to discuss a project idea he’s working on I wasn’t sure I actually believed it. In fact even as I was hopping on the train to London to visit him in his studio I still didn’t actually believe it. However I couldn’t, even in my wildest dreams, have considered what he was about to ask me. Our conversation went something like this…

Ian Stuart: Kat, we love you, we love your blog and we love your magazine. We also loved the shoot you did in Paris where you wore some of my dresses. We think the brides who read your site are amazing and just the kind of girls we want to make dresses for. In May, at The White Gallery,* we’ll be showing my new collection and we want to design a dress for you and your readers…Oh and we want to have you model it down the catwalk infront of the world’s bridal press. How does that sound?

Me: erm…errrr…shiiittt…are you sure?…me?…erm Jeez…OK then…do I have to wear heels?

Ian Stuart: Oh and the week after the show, we’ll be shooting the photo campaign and we want you to model in that too…

Me: erm…are you sure you’ve got the right girl?…oh sweet Lord…you know I’m no model right? I’m a size 12, I have quite a lot of tattoos and I have silly hair…

Ian Stuart: Yep, that’s exactly why we want you.

Me: erm…OK then…

So…yeah. That’s about the gist of it. Oh crap. Catwalk. Models. Scary bridal press. SHIIIIIIT. My life is a little bit ridiculous.

I’ve seen a very rough sketch of his design already and my God it’s going to be EPIC. I’m not allowed to share anything more about it with you just yet but believe me when I say it’s going to be very very cool. I’m also so excited by the thought that some of you might even buy it to wear it for your own Rock n Roll weddings! That’s just so exciting.

I’ll be sharing more about this project just as soon as I’m allowed to so keep those peepers peeled to these pages.

Me with Ian Stuart (!!!!) I think his tee-shirt is giving us the finger.

*The White Gallery is basically like Fashion Week for the wedding world. It’s where all the top designers go to show their new collections to the awaiting bridal press as well as boutique owners who want to order the new designs for their own shops.

AND BREATHE. Wanna click and see the rest of this week’s treats then?
