Thursday Treats: Magazines and Models

instagram 2

The week has been all about the two M’s… magazines and models! We took delivery of 1000 copies of the magazine and Gareth has been packing and preparing them for shipping out to those that pre-ordered early next week! While our living room might resemble a warehouse right now (boxes, magazines and pink envelopes as far as the eye can see!) I am still soooo excited about it. The mag officially goes on sale NEXT THURSDAY (3rd) so if you’d prefer to pop down to your local WHSmiths to pick up your copy you can do so then.

And models! My goodness, when we put the call out asking for real babes to apply to be the faces of my new veil (eek!) collection with Crown and Glory we certainly didn’t anticipate just how many applications we’d receive. We’ve already had more than 50 of you contact us and it’s proving very difficult to choose already! Remember, you have two whole weeks to get those emails in, so if you haven’t applied yet you have plenty of time. Don’t let the number of entrants put you off either, you might be just what we’re looking for!

OK! Enough of all that excitement, let’s crack on with some Thursday Treats. I haven’t spend much time online this week as I’ve been here, there and everywhere, but I hope you still enjoy these links.

Thursday Treats: Getting Excited!

It feels like the few weeks before Christmas to me right now. I can’t even tell you how excited I am for issue 4 to hit the shelves and how much it’s killing me to keep what the magazine looks like a secret. I’ll be sharing the cover really soon, I promise! I know to you guys it might not seem any different to the previous three issues but for us its been a whole different ball game.

Before, we had the publishers holding our hands and taking us through everything step by step, but now we’re doing everything ourselves again. It really has been the biggest labour of love but it’s also been sooo worth it. We’ve learnt so much and made huge strides in the business behind the scenes. I am SO proud of how issue 4 has turned out and the new re-brand is looking incredible. Onwards and upwards baby!*

The next magazine hits the shops on September 3rd (that’s just two weeks away!) and the new look Rock n Roll Bride will be landing around then too. CAN’T WAIT CAN’T WAIT CAN’T WAIT!

Oh it’s been a busy old week! On Monday issue 4 went to print (omg I can’t wait to see it), on Tuesday I went wedding dress shopping with my sister, today I’m doing a bridesmaid dress fitting for my friend who’s getting married in November and tomorrow I’m having dinner with friends to celebrate Sophie and Gareth‘s engagement! Yep, I am well and truly engulfed in weddingland this week (so what’s new huh!?)

How has your week been? What lovely wedding things have you been doing? If you need some distraction for a while, feast your eyes on this lot.

Thursday Treats: We’re Going to Print!

2015_nubbytwiglet_rocknrollbride_magazine_32

Hello! I’ve just popped up from my editing hole to say “Yay its Thursday Treats time!” The next issue of the magazine goes to print in a few days so I’m currently locked down and getting serious on checking proofs, dotting i’s, crossing t’s and making sure it’s as perfect as it possibly can be. WISH ME LUCK!

People have been begging me for a sneak peek of the new design too so here’s a little teeny one for you. Doesn’t it look amazing?! That Shauna sure is talented! I can’t wait to finally hold it in my hands.

If you haven’t already, you can pre-order a copy now. Issue 4 is released on September 3rd, shipping to the UK is free and we have less than 3/4 the stock allocated for online orders remaining! If you struggled to find one in any shops near you, or you don’t live in the UK, order one now or don’t you dare come crying to me when they’re all sold out!

I also joined Periscope this week. Are you on it? I did my first broadcast this afternoon (you can watch it here) where I showed people my office, answered a ton of questions AND quickly showed one of the real wedding spreads in the magazine! It was so weird and fun! I usually groan when there’s a new social media to get to grips with, but this seems like it’s going to be super entertaining. Download the app and follow me (my name is RocknRollBride of course).

Don’t worry I haven’t booked in for a nose job… I’m talking about giving Rock n Roll Bride a facelift!

The blog has had the same logo and branding for over five years now, and with the magazine taking off like it is I felt it was high time for for a spot of TLC. Shauna and I have been going back and forth on some ideas and believe me when I say it is looking utterly incredible! Watch out wedding magazine world, Rock n Roll Bride is coming for ya!

Things are also chugging on excellently with the next issue of the magazine by the way. Remember, its’s on sale September 3rd and you can pre-order a copy right now. Over half of the stock we have allocated for online orders have already sold so if you’d like to snap one up and have it shipped directly to you, order it today!

Okey doke, here’s a round up of all the internetty things that I’ve been loving this week:

Thursday Treats: Watch Me on Ireland AM Tomorrow!

Sam Hurt at Photography farm (8)

Sam Hurd

As you read this I’m on route to Dublin where I’ve been invited on to Ireland AM, Ireland’s version of This Morning, tomorrow! I’ll be on around 8.15am so Irish babes, set those alarms!

It’s been a busy week. On Tuesday Gareth and I popped down to the Photography Farm (it’s fast becoming my home away from home!) to model for Sam Hurd‘s workshop for wedding photographers. Sam is a FANTASTIC photographer from the US so when we were asked to do it I jumped at the chance without even consulting Gareth – whoops! Luckily he was as up for it as I was. He’s getting to be a right poser you know (not quite as bad as me but that would be hard..!) Shooting with Sam was the most fun and I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos he took!

Then Wednesday I was on MOH duties again going to see more potential wedding venues with my sister. It’s SO FUN seeing how their wedding ideas are coming together already. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is going to be the coolest wedding ever. I’ve been spending all my extra time firing off enquiries to caterers, florists, photographers and videographers… believe me when I say I am very organised about this shit – ha!

I hope you’ve had a good week, take a load off and enjoy some Thursday Treats whydontya!?
