When Christina & Mitch turned up to their engagement session with their beloved ‘68 Corvette in tow, photographer Clayton Austin was instantly inspired and channeled Steve McQueen as the idea behind the shoot. As a little bit of a petrol head myself, I can totally relate to how Clayton described the day.

What’s not to love about this shoot? Alex & Kaori’s downtown LA engagement session was the perfect expression of who they are as a couple – lovers of LA and fashion (they are both designers.) I will never stop loving the Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon shoes (I have them in yellow & black) and Alex’s fabulous red & white checked shirt and black bow tie combo. In fact this pair have got to be some serious fashion inspiration to at least a few of you!
Not looking for the traditional engagement session, Melissa & Colin went to Rhys Albrecht for an original concept…and he came up a treat! “I pitched 2 ideas to them.” Rhys explained “First, an 80’s inspired squash court shoot with knee socks, headbands and short shorts. Second, and this is a direct quote from my initial pitch to them, “a modern twist on the classic après-ski look. I’m picturing ski boots, tights, long johns, touqes, skis, parkas, etc. With bold colors. Like, if you could imagine Vogue merged with Nylon Magazine to do a “How to Glam Up Your Après-Ski” issue.” And third, a more subdued winter look with slightly absurd accessories…like giant faux-fur hats”
Fashion designer Kelly & her fiance, Martin’s engagement is a total joy of faux fur, retro chic! Their amazing-sounding Halloween themed wedding will be taking place in October this year and after Kelly told me she’s not only making her bridesmaid dresses but her own wedding dress I was literally already chomping at the bit to see the results! In this, their engagement session, Kelly looks amazing in her red tights, vintage faux fur coat (from a Salvation Army store) and headband (a gift from her future Mother in law.) Congratulations guys!

Marianne Taylor  is one of my favourite UK photographers, not only because she’s an utter sweetheart (we’ve enjoyed many a night out and done an amazing photo shoot together) but because she always sends me her most Rock n Roll weddings and couples!
Rose & Brendan are exactly the kind of funky couple I love – cool, chic and super stylish (I think I recognise Rose’s funky platform black shoes as a pair I lusted over in Topshop). Whenever I feel sad that I’m not in America with all your cool, creative types I will look at this session and be reminded just how damn awesome us Londoners are too!

Aldous & Leah’s engagement session with the incredible MangoREDÂ blows me away! The vintage tones, the phenomenal set design…the whole feel is just awesome.

Melody & David are a super cool Rock n Roll couple from Belgium who certainly added that little bit of cool to their engagement shoot. They brought along things that really meant something to them to use as props and the result is a quirky, retro vibe to die for.

The fabulous Chelsea Nicole  has just launched her new Fusion Video venture, offering videography to her lucky couples. She sent me this a-a-amazing example from Kory & Trent’s engagement session in a dry lake bed, Las Vegas, NV. Doesn’t the video really bring the images to life?

I think I need to move to New York. All the cool kids are moving there – including the photographer behind this fabulous engagement session, Lindsey McKinley. The tattoos (of course) the radical yellow bow/net thingy, the long haired groom to be and the Coney Island setting convince me at NYC is definitely optimisation of cool.
