Jackie always knew she wanted a pirate themed wedding, even before she met Y'ves. So when it came to this couple saying "I do" there really was only one way they were going to do it! The wedding was held on The Kajama Tall Ship, docked at The Harbourfront Centre on Queens Quay West in Toronto. They had their ceremony on the deck at 12.30, they set sail at 1 'o clock and everyone de-boarded at 5.30.

I have something really beautiful and unusual for you today, I just know you're going to love it! Kristin and Ky were hitched at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Florida. Their outdoor wedding was made as colourful as possible with the addition of paint... lots of paint! The bride wore a full face of geisha-style face paint, her dress was splattered with it (which she did herself), they painted each other as part of the ceremony and they had an artist on hand to do their guests too!

Carrie and Neil had a red and white wedding with rockabilly and polka dot touches! The day was held at Highbury Hall in Birmingham and was full of DIY décor. "We would like to think we were far more relaxed, friendly and laid-back than other wedding we have been to", began the bride. "So many weddings we have been to seem so stiff and uptight as a whole. We wanted a fun party atmosphere with a live band playing lots rockabilly, plenty of food for people to stuff their faces, and encouraged dancing until your feet dropped off. The word 'formal' never entered our vocabulary."

The wedding of Margot and Jared was held at Artwork Network, an art gallery in Denver. The ceremony was officiated by the groom's younger brother, Kyle. But this wasn't the only thing that made their wedding special, unique and personalised. "I think from the minute we started actually thinking about what the wedding would be like, we both just wanted it to be fun", explained Margot. "A party for all of our closest friends and family. As unstuffy as possible. From there the details just fell into place. Food trucks were wayyy cheaper than traditional caterers, we both love pie, we both love whiskey, and we love throwing parties."

Andrea and Franz were married in Germany on New Year's Eve. They're both from Germany and so wanted to get married there, but they live in Australia now so they planned the whole thing from the other side of the world.

As far as simple and breathtaking weddings go, I think this family focused elopement in Big Sur, California wins everything. It was just Ulysses, Cyntia and their two gorgeous children, Pheonix and Galaxy in attendance. Their officiant, Colette Cucchia, was there to marry them overlooking the water and their wedding photographer captured the whole thing beautifully.

Cathie and Claire were hitched at Glenmore House. Their wedding was bright and full of fun! The pair both rocked amazing outfits, Claire in a red Candy Anthony dress and headpiece and Cathie in a corset from Fairy Gothmother and trousers by Vivienne Westwood. At their reception they had a popcorn cart, bunting, vintage suitcase for cards and vintage vases and jam jars for the flowers with tea lights.

Helen and Toby's rainbow wedding took place at Coombes Farm in Lancing. The didn't have a huge budget, £8000, but they made it go far with plenty of personal touches and DIY projects. The cakes, flowers and stationery were all done by friends and they didn't hire a fancy caterer to feed their guests. Instead of gifts they asked their guests to each bring their favourite dish!

Sara and Dave were married in November. They had been together for 14 years and have 5 children so having a wedding had never really taken priority, but after visiting the amazing Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza Wedding Show in Birmingham, that all changed! "We met when I visited the local tattoo studio where Dave worked", began the bride. "We got chatting and basically things progressed pretty quickly. We both shared similar interests including, of course, tattoos and body piercing. We definitely live life to the full and how we want to. We have 5 super kids, 3 boys and 2 girls. Again they are very original in their own ways and are certainly free spirited."
