I love this shoot because not only does it look like it was a mountain of fun, but the girls that put it together are the best of friends - make it even more adorable methinks! Photographers Michelle & Hanssie had the idea for this 'retro cars and vintage dresses' shoot and enlisted the help of a bunch of their industry friends to help them. The venue, a car museum called Astor Classics Events Center, had been thinking about opening it's doors for weddings and receptions so the shoot provided the perfect opportunity for some publicity...didn't the shots turn out great? I know I'd love to get married there - what a load of awesome locations for photo ops!

Winchester-based photographer Angela Ward Brown sent these over the other day and I'm pretty sure you vintage lovers are going to adore them. The shoot took place at semi-derelict country estate near Winchester called Northington Grange, which is open to the public but it hardly ever used, except as for the odd movie and soap opera set!

This is not the usual post I put up but sometimes there are exceptions to be made. I received an email from reader Claire the other day who told me "I nearly died when I saw these dresses". Hell, I can see why. Serious swoon-fest over here. I want them all! The Barcelona-based designer Maria Lluïsa Rabell blends contemporary subtle lines and elegance with amazing technical flair and ability. Unique, out-there and original. Have you ever seen anything like these? They have such a magical, romantic feminine feel don't they?

British photographer Dolly Photography may be new to the scene but she sure knows her own passions and one of her dreams is to raise awareness and support her local community. "I come from Barnsley, a very small Northern mining town that is still recovering from the depression of the pit closures" She told me "I have loads of work I'd love to submit, but this one is close to my heart. I did a Rock The Dress shoot last week for Barnsley Hospice, a charity that looks after terminal cancer patients. They have 8 charity shops and wanted to promote the fact that they sold second hand wedding dresses - some for as little as £40 a dress!" So, she asked her sister to model for her in a gorgeous £40 dress from Barnsley Hospice and carrying a vintage umbrella that she found on ebay for £10. Her hair piece was also a bargain at £10 in the sale from Diva Bridal, Barnsley.

Gorgeous Indian brides and weddings certainly don't get enough coverage in Blogland - which is crazy because the colours, the fun and the unique traditions are certainly things that blogs usually swoon over. I have a couple of Indian friends - one that is already married and one that has been to a lot of her family's weddings and I'm always intrigued to hear about them. My favourite story was that one of my friends had to walk around the ceremony carrying a pineapple on her head and when she asked her Mum why she had to do it or what it was about she replied "that's just what we do" Ha!To this day she still doesn't know the significance of the pineapple that messed up her hair!

Jade of Jade Rose Designs was eager to share with me some of her new, gorgeous, perfect-for-Rock-n-Roll-Brides designs and I was over the moon to receive them, especially when I say her gorgeous model's (friend Erin) hair! Based in Portland, Jade teamed with Bryan Rupp Photography to create a photo shoot to inspire Rock n Roll Brides everywhere.

"When styling this photo shoot, we wanted to create a romantic vintage atmosphere with a twist. Something vibrant, elegant, and out-of-the-box. Having been to the Moulin Rouge cabaret in Paris, we tied in details and rich colors reminiscent of our visit. The rich reds, deep purple irises, and black accents were intended on creating perhaps a non-traditional wedding palette. Tucking black feathers into deep, velvety red roses and contrasting purple irises, our floral pieces emitted a tone of a classic wedding romance while being a bit off-beat. Sheet music was rolled into scrolls and synced with crystal drops for a little touch of whimsy. Gorgeous hand-painted place cards accented our ruby French brocade linen and black satin napkins gave a punch of interest. All of these elements came together seamlessly to create a wedding celebration that is timeless, a bit sexy, and just radiating romance."

Those of you, like me, who were loitering around blogland this time last year will certainly remember the immensely popular 'NotWedding' event that was held in Atlanta. The photographs of the even circulated pretty much every blog - and with due cause. They were awesome (you can see my coverage from the 2009 event here.) The NotWedding is a unique bridal event in which a handful of Atlanta’s most talented and brilliant vendors come together to stage a one-of-a-kind wedding. Complete with an unforgettable ceremony, an over the top first dance, a cake cutting, and reception, The NotWedding has become a killer production that promotes an atmosphere which inspired brides towards creative options rather than cookie-cutter weddings. From classic to sassy, this year’s event hosted four different wedding themes for brides to visit: Enchanted Forest, Southern Glam, Vintage Chic, and Global Fusion.

This exceptional Rock n Roll style fashion shoot photographed by Jessica Monnich at Highball in Austin Texas hit me right between the eyes. I've fallen in love with the vintage 1950s rockabilly stylings, the gorgeous fashion, the stunning models, the bowling alley setting...well basically how damn cool the whole thing is! I'm so excited to share this shoot and all the people involved with you..you're gonna love it! "We went with a 50's theme. The location was very hip swanky 50's feeling bowling alley on South Lamar in a bowling alley here in Austin Texas called Highball. In keeping with the vintage theme we did a place setting in the color scheme of the shoot using fiestaware which was popular during that time period. We thought Wizard of Oz Pez dispensers would be fun as that was a popular movie during that time. We also had mock cakes made up for the shoot that had a very rockabilly feel to them as well. The "bride" carried a lotus flower surrounded by sweet peas and the "bridesmaids" carried a combination of flowers including pink sweet peas and poppies." There's a little bit of a story behind the finding of this fabulous shoot and I thought in sharing it's gorgeousness I could also explain how it came to land in my inbox. As many of you know, my husband Gareth is an IT wizz and works from home. As sad as it may be, we love to watch Working Lunch together when I'm not at 'the day job'. One such afternoon there was a feature on Emma Jones of Enterprise Nation who works with 5-9 ers - ie people who are mad like me, work a full time job and run their own business from home too. So Gareth turns to me and says "You should drop her an email" and so I did. Making this connection has been fabulous for me as not only have I been featured on her site, am being used a case study in her upcoming book (hell to the yeah!) but she sends me regular updates on awesome other 5-9 ers that she thinks I need to know. LeKeux Events was one of these companies. As soon as I landed on their website I knew we'd be a perfect match and after speaking to Lyndsey over email it turned out that she already reads my blog! Aaaaanyway, to cut a very long story short (er) I saw this amazing Sugabily bridal shoot on their site and just had to feature it....you're going to go nuts for it! The dress and petticoat were ebay finds, but Lyndsey tells me she swooned over similar things on Vivienne of Holloway (who I ADORE by the way). Enjoy! The wonderful UK based Nikole Ramsay sent me these amazing images just yesterday and I was blown away! Not only by her fabulousa photography, but by the beeeautiful dresses supplied by Sarah Treble. I was sent a collection of bridal fashion shoots from Italian photographer Joanne Dunn the other day and I have to say I fell in love immediately. She describes her work as “personal fusion photography—the punk of wedding photography", and boy can I see why. These chicks are certainly Rock n Roll baby! The Italians are notoriously painfully stylish and ahead of the game and these shots definitely prove that to me - the black and white palate, the crimped hair, the tiered dress - all scream high fashion bridal style for 2010. Thanks to Joanne for sharing these with me. I look forward to seeing more of you in future!

With the day of hearts, flowers and lurrrve fast approaching, I have been inundated with Valentine's themed submissions, however this retro/pin up shoot from Jen Will may well be one of my utter favourites. The shoot took place in her own kitchen which was the perfect setting for the baking theme. "This is part of the reason I love my apartment." Jen tells us "It is the coolest apartment ever, and my love for it is part of the reason I have yet to join the adult world of home ownership. It has a bathroom that would probably rent out as a large bedroom in New York City and a classic stove that came straight from the original Be Witched TV show. No matter where I live in the future, I will always love this place. I am so glad I got to document it in such a special way!" I have to agree... and seeing these really makes me want to get my arse in gear and decorate our house! Thanks to Jen for sharing these.

Sometimes the non-bridal stuff I get sent it so freakin' awesome that it would be crime against humanity (and in this case fashion) not to share it. Karolina Skorek is a painter and photographer from Poland who's just opened a photography studio here in the UK. This amazing shoot was done with her friend and fashion designer Ewelina Sliwa. Aren't her designs just wonderful? I love the grungy, decaying feel to this attic shots. Fabulousa!
