Rock n Roll Bride Live: Spring 2021

I think it’s safe to say that the inaugural Rock n Roll Bride Live was a HUGE success.

With 200 attendees, 25 exhibitors, 10 inspiring speakers and three packed-out workshops…this wasn’t a wedding show – it was so much more than that! Our attendees flew in from Austria, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and came from all over the UK to descend on Hackney Town Hall for a magical day of connection, inspiration and making new best friends.

People whooped, cheered and cried during the talks. At the party, the queue for the photo booth was halfway across the room. The bar – lit up with fuchsia neon – served prosecco, sparkly pink unicorn gin from Firebox and rosé wine from bottles designed by Veronica Dearly. We tucked into delicious canapés from Party Ingredients and our sequin selfie wall was adorned with a giant rainbow FUCK YEAH neon sign (show us another wedding event that would ever have that – we’ll wait…). Everyone left with a gorgeous goodie bag so packed with treats that it weighed them down!

We are SO EXCITED to announce that tickets for our second event, taking place on 20/02/2021 at Hackney Town Hall from 12-8pm, are now available for purchase at the early, early (yes, double early!) bird price of £55 per ticket or £90 for two!

You’ll be able to meet and chat to the peeps behind some of my favourite alternative wedding brands and businesses and throughout the afternoon there will be a series of talks, panels and discussions to help you plan your wedding with passion, attitude and CONFIDENCE.

The day will round off with a party where there will be drinks and canapes for everyone and every single attendee with leave with a mega goodie bag, the contents of which will be worth over £70!

Doors open at 12pm. The event runs until 8pm.

Hackney Town Hall is fully accessible, please drop us a line if you have any concerns or questions about this before you book.

Payments are all processed through PayPal. You will not receive a physical ticket. Names will be checked off list on arrival so if your PayPal account is in a different name, please leave a note with your order.

Tickets are non-refundable except if the event needs to be cancelled or postponed due to Covid-19. In this instance, we will offer you the option of transferring your ticket to the next event or we will issue you with a full refund.

Line up is subject to change and we are not liable for any changes due to sickness or unforeseen circumstances out of our control.

The Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza is the One Wedding Fair You NEED to go to!

One of my favourite (if not THE favourite) wedding fairs in the UK is the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza in Birmingham. We’ve attended it for the last few years and I’m so excited to let you know that not only is the show is coming back this Spring and we’re going to be there again too!

If you’ve ever wanted to flick through the Rock n Roll Bride x Veronica Dearly Wedding Planner, grab a copy of Rock n Roll Bride magazine (everyone gets a back issue in their goodie bag and we’ll be selling the current issue for a discounted price on the day), or try on our veil collections with Crown and Glory then this is THE wedding show for you. I’m always always up for hugs and selfies so come on, don’t be shy! This is the only wedding fair we’ll be exhibiting at this season so this is one event not to be missed.

This weird yet wonderful weekend of wedding madness is taking place on the Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th of March at The Bond in Birmingham. If you’re the kinda gal who likes to see things in person before committing to booking or ordering then you need to come along because many of my all-time fave wedding suppliers will also be there.

This Spring event will feature over sixty of the most amazing alternative exhibitors showing off their dresses, cakes, shoes, stationery, hen party accessorises, jewellery, celebrants, menswear, photography, button bouquets, floral displays and anything else you can possibly think of!

A Jewellery Making Party with Tatty Devine!

I have been a massive fan of Tatty Devine ever since I discovered them as a teenager. I dreamed of one day being able to adorn myself daily with all their pretty plastic creations. That love affair has continued well into adulthood and the Tatty pieces I own will forever be some of my ultimate faves.

So when the babes at Tatty Devine got in contact to ask if I wanted to visit their Brick Lane store to do a Halloween themed jewellery making workshop it felt like all my Christmasses (or should that be Halloweens?) had come at once.

On Tuesday evening Sophie, Ronnie, Lisa, Paige and I excited arrived at their shop just as it was closing for our private party. We were all sat around a table and instead of normal place settings there was a custom spooky glittery name necklace in each spot. I may have audibly squealed.

Ronnie even got TWO because they weren’t sure if she’d prefer Ronnie or Veronica.. and she got to keep them both! Jealous much? I should have casually mentioned in advance that I also go by the name of Kathryn… and Rock n Roll Bride… and Princess of the Manor…

If you’ve been following the blog for a while you’ll know that for the last couple of years we’ve done a LOT of wedding fairs. They’re super fun (I will ALWAYS love meeting you guys!) but also super exhausting. So this year we’ve decided to just do ONE and that one is, in my humble opinion, the best one out there – the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza in Birmingham!

Organised by Jo of The Couture Company, Sassy of Assassynation Photography and Yasmin of Curious Coco Designs. this is Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza’s 5th year. They they are returning with an impeccable array of everything that is different, creative and unique in the world of weddings. For half a decade the show has brought together unique exhibitors and couples alike, showcasing the most diverse wedding talent in the country.

This season they’ll be welcoming 70 incredible suppliers including Crown and Glory, Working Clasp, Jamball, Black Cherry Cake Company, Conjurer’s Kitchen, Alternative Ceremonies UK, DiscoWed, The Couture Company, Wish Upon a Sparkle, Gaming4Weddings, Doris Loves, Hardfelt and MANY, MANY MORE!

No teeth whitening/ weight loss/ plastic surgery companies

I’m not gonna lie, I’ve always been intensely unconformable with the presence of companies peddling ways to permanently alter your body in the run up to your wedding at some of the larger shows. Luckily there is NOTHING LIKE THAT at the Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza. Praise the lord!

No pushy sales people

Similarly, the show has a no pushiness policy meaning the exhibitors are encouraged to be chatty, helpful and charming, but not to push offers on you, thrust leaflets in your hand or generally be obnoxious arseholes. I know a lot of you can feel quite anxious about going to wedding fairs, but everyone at this one is lovely, warm, friendly and genuinely interested in hearing what YOU have to say (and not the other way around!) Eclectic Wedding Extravaganza is like a weird little family and I love that about it so much!

A Lush Hen Party

Did you know that Lush do private parties after hours? I know right, how amazing is that!? When I made this discovery I knew I had to find an excuse to book one, and Sophie’s hen do a couple of weeks ago was the perfect opportunity!

Dressed in our sparkiest finery, we descended on the Canterbury Lush store just as it was closing not knowing exactly what to expect, but sure that it would be a hell of lot of fun. We had the entire shop at our disposal and the two ladies who hosted us were, in expected Lush employee fashion, super welcoming and enthusiastic. They even let us bring in our own prosecco and snacks.

Sophie’s amazing dress is from Missguided, her sash was made by Oh Squirrel.

The evening started by us making a blueberry face mask, which we all got to take home in our goodie bags. Next we were all seated around a large table and each given a hand treatment and massage with the Rub Rub Rub scrub. Soft hands a-plenty we then played a suitably embarrassing hen do game of each having to mould something naughty out of their Fun rainbow soap. We then voted whosee was the rudest as I’m very proud to announce that I was the winner – ha. I even got a prize!

After a final -ahem- amended game of pin the tale on the donkey (hint, there was no tail and no donkey) we were each handed a shopping basket and told we each had £10 to spend! Oh my goodness, a supermarket sweep in Lush? Yes please! I bought myself some of my favourite Rockstar soap and a couple of bubble bars. Our picks where then added into our individual goodie bags which we all got to take away!

WEDx is a brand new seminar for wedding professionals. I am honoured to have been asked to speak at their inaugural event taking place on Monday 8th May at Wyboston Lakes Executive Centre, near Cambridge.

Fair warning: I’m not a professional speaker. I prefer to chat from the heart rather than spiel off an over-rehearsed speech. But if you want to come and hear me share my journey from starting a secret hobby from my laptop, to spearheading a six figure publishing business, then I’m your gal! Specifically I’ll be talking about collaboration and how working with others has been the best thing I’ve ever done for my business and why. After all, no-one can do this shit on their own!
