Being big foodies, Billy & Laura knew they wanted to serve up an amazing feast at their wedding. But they wanted to do it in their own way, so a Full English Breakfast it was! "Overall we just wanted our wedding to be the best party anyone had ever been to", wrote the bride. "We wanted great food, music and laughter. We definitely wanted our food to be different as we’d attended 8 or 9 weddings the year before and had (albeit very tasty) the same meal over and over."

Loving all things retro, Lucy and Michael always knew that would be the theme of her wedding. When it came to actually planning their big day though, they wanted it to be unique so they threw in some colourful Mexican influences for good measure! They had a mariachi band, their decoration was colourful and they even served a Mexican inspired buffet feast! The groom's love of The Beatles couldn't be ignored, so the bride walked down the aisle to one of their sings and their tables were named after Beatles albums.

Pearce and Angela love all things vintage and retro, so their 1950s wedding theme came easily to them. They wanted a theme that their guests could be a part of (with fancy dress!). The celebration was held at Craig Y Nos Castle near Brecon Beacons in South Wales. "We loved the venue because it was quirky, wonky and theatrical so it suited us down to the ground", Angela said. "It was once owned by a very famous opera singer, Madam Patte, in the 19th century, who used to throw lavish parties and entertain the great and good back in the day. It was actually completely different to what we initially had in mind for a venue, but when we walked in we just knew it was perfect!"

With a budget of just £4000, Ryan and Connie planned a beautiful 1950s inspired wedding. The bride wore a dress made especially for her by Honeypie Boutique, shoes from Next and fun Tatty Divine jewellery. The bridesmaids' vintage inspired dresses were by Vivien of Holloway. "We love colours, patterns and prints so we wanted the wedding to reﬂect that", said Connie. "All the bridesmaids chose their own coloured dress and I had a bright pink ice cream bag!! We wanted to use local suppliers as far as possible and keep costs low by making things ourselves. We also wanted the day to be colourful and bold but also relaxed."

A true DIY wedding, Claire-Josephine, Nick and their families made a lot of the details for their big day themselves. The stationery was made by the bride's aunt and the groom, and the favours by the mother of the groom. The cake was made by a member of the church choir and the bride helped design her own dress and headpiece which were made for her by her friend Keli Thompson, who has just launched her own wedding couture company.

Markéta and Sam said "I do" within the Ruins of Castle Košumberk in the Czech Republic. Their colourful theme represented the two of them, and overall their theme was love and hearts! "We love colourful things and bright styles so our theme for the wedding could be called a heartfelt kaleidoscope meets 50s twist and shout!", Markéta said. "Hearts were easy. I love Melissa shoes and I just loved my wedding shoes. When Sam proposed I ordered them just two days after. They have a big cute heart and so we decided a heart theme for the whole wedding sounded good.

They were married on the beach at El Pez Tulum, a boutique ocean-front hotel, in Mexico. KO and Bre wanted their wedding to be a beachy pin up fairytale wedding and I think they achieved that wonderfully! The bride wore a vintage dress from the 1950s which she customised and had the skirt redesigned by Georgannette Chatterley. Her birdcage veil was also homemade.

But they wanted something to remember this special time in their lives so they booked Joan and Jon of BellowBlue Photography for a photo session that completely optimised them. This was not a styled shoot, it took place at their own home, decked out in all it's retro finery. They used their own car that they drive every day. The barber shop is where Randy works.

Carrie and Neil had a red and white wedding with rockabilly and polka dot touches! The day was held at Highbury Hall in Birmingham and was full of DIY décor. "We would like to think we were far more relaxed, friendly and laid-back than other wedding we have been to", began the bride. "So many weddings we have been to seem so stiff and uptight as a whole. We wanted a fun party atmosphere with a live band playing lots rockabilly, plenty of food for people to stuff their faces, and encouraged dancing until your feet dropped off. The word 'formal' never entered our vocabulary."
