They were married on the beach at El Pez Tulum, a boutique ocean-front hotel, in Mexico. KO and Bre wanted their wedding to be a beachy pin up fairytale wedding and I think they achieved that wonderfully! The bride wore a vintage dress from the 1950s which she customised and had the skirt redesigned by Georgannette Chatterley. Her birdcage veil was also homemade.

“KO and I met 7 years ago at a hardcore music show”, she wrote. “I caught his eye from across the room while headbanging with a cast up to my knee and crutches. I had recently broken my ankle while jumping on a bed! A mutual friend then introduced us after the show and we chatted the night away. Bre is my nickname and when I was leaving KO (also a nickname) asked what my real name was. I told him that if he wanted to find out he would have to call me. KO called the next day and we were inseparable from then on. KO finally proposed at our house one night completely surprising me. It was sweet and simple like I had always imagined it.”

“The best way to describe our wedding would be a beach vintage fairytale”, she continued. “People have often described me as a pin up pixie and the wedding definitely reflected that. KO was great about letting me get my vision.”

“I think everything was very unique about our wedding from our guest list to the atmosphere. One other unique thing was the location. It was on the beach at EL Pez in Tulum Mexico. Tulum is its own magical place! The beautiful beach is lined with unique boutique hotels. We hated the idea of a cookie cutter resort wedding. El Pez was amazing at letting us do our thing. We had the whole 12 room hotel and 5 room guest house for 3 wonderful days with 50 of our closest friends and family. I walked down the aisle to ‘Wild Horses’ by the Rolling Stones. We were also married by our good friend the front man of Murphy’s Law Jimmy Gestapo.”

“KO and I also didn’t want a sit down dinner so we transformed the beach into a cocktail party. High top tables and white leather couches provided a relaxed comfortable setting. We had an assortment of appetizers and gourmet tacos passed through out the night and plenty of drinks!”

“The entire weddings was DIY”, she explained.” We worked on all the decorations for months before and brought them all to Mexico with us. From lace and ribbon mason jars with fairy lights to vintage handkerchiefs and strands and strands of paper lanterns. We made hand cut papel picado save the dates and did the invitations with black paper doilys. I also hand painted lanterns with lace 1920s deco like designs as favors. We got the flowers the day before the wedding from a little tiny flower stand in town. My sister did the bouquets and table arrangements the mornings of the wedding. It was a lot of work but totally worth it.”
