No joke, I've been looking forward to seeing this wedding for weeks. I met up with photographer Emma Case a little while ago when she was down in London and as we wondered around Topshop (obviously the first place one might head when in central London!) she was eager to tell me all about this amazing wedding she'd just shot. Can you imagine my excitment when Jen & Bijan amazing wedding landed in my inbox? Jen, the bride began her email "I am an American living in Berlin, and recently married. My husband,Bijan, is German-Irani, and I think our wedding was as multi-cultural and untraditional as we are." I was smitten...and their story just makes it even better. "My background in event planning for President Obama (!) and Vice President Biden came in very handy for a diy wedding" Jen told me. "Bijan and I haven't been to many weddings, nor have we been married before, so we kind of made a lot of stuff up as we went along. The actual ceremony was on Friday, March 26, and the reception was the following day. My best friend, Scout Tufankjian, is a photojournalist and doesn't actually usually do weddings but as her gift to us she agreed to be our wedding photographer. Bijan is born and raised here in Berlin, and we really wanted our photos to reflect our everyday life and the things we love about Berlin. The graffiti pictures are taken along an old section of the Berlin Wall called the "East Side Gallery," and was one of the places Bijan took me on my first day here. With his Persian background, he has always been a fan of shisha (flavored tobacco smoked out of a water pipe)- I also share his love for it, and on our way to the party, we decided to take a break for ourselves and get a smoke at our favorite shisha cafe. I have to say there is something about Danie & Ilene's wonderful wedding that makes me totally and completely happy...I can see why Ilene wore ballet shoes - she must have been spinning around all day with joy! The wedding took place at the sunny South African venue of South Hill. Ilene wore a Robyn Roberts dress with her ballet shoes and looked everybit the ballerina princess.Read more...

I love a quirky London wedding just as much as the next person so I whooped with joy when Connie & Jonny's was send my way. "We wanted to bring all our friends and family together for a massive party to celebrate us getting hitched" the bride began. "We kept certain traditions - getting everyone to sit down and have a big feed, and speeches etc, but we weren't keen on all the flowery formal bits, so to keep things lighthearted and personal we had the lovely ukelele band. We put our friends and family on a routemaster bus back to the reception (at Lena Restaurant, 66 Great Eastern St, London) Amazing food, great party space downstairs with loads of champagne. A friend drove my dad and I to the town hall in his VW camper van, and took Jonny and I (with music booming, a healthy supply of champagne) back to the reception (we drove back via regent’s park and stopped off in the sunshine to take it all in). Not really up for flowery delicate invites, we got Hanway print centre to print us some bright orange postcards. Will & Myriam's ceremony took place at Pencarrow House in Cornwall and then it was all back to the parent's house for food and drink! "There's not much to tell" Will began "We did everything the way we did because we had known we wanted to be husband and wife for ages, so it was more a question of getting the day out of the way! We didn't want to make a fuss about the day, or do anything cheesy, we just wanted it to be 'a fun and casual get-together with romantic bits' and we had an ultra-minimal budget" Myriam wore a dress from Monsoon, Will's bespoke suit was found at Ferguson Nash in Warwick and their hilarious tee-shirts were from the aptly named Fuckuall.Read more...

Summer & Frank got married exactly a year after their first date. The wedding had an Autumn theme and was held at a local park. Their reception was at one of their favourite hang outs - Fatty's in Astoria. "I started looking for parks in our area where we could also hold the reception." Summer told me. "We're both very casual and outdoorsy, so we didn't want anything formal--we wanted the focus to be more on the happiness of the day. The cost for renting local parks is a shocking fraction of more formal venues, too, and you can bring in your own catering, which gives you more options for food. I've got a fairytale Chilean wedding to kick of this Easter Monday for you today. Last weekend Francisca & Juan Pablo got married at the gorgeous Fundo San Miguel in Colina, Chile. Francisca wore a pastel pink, 80s (in a good way!) style vintage Oscar de la Renta gown which she matched perfectly with a pair of shoes she'd had forever! My last wedding from Bob Miller (for now! - if you missed them here's one and two) is the gorgeous relaxed but energetic wedding of Beverly & Neil. Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham AL (apparently one of the most haunted places in the US!) was suggested to the pair by their friend and eventual wedding coordinator, Sarah Crawford. After visiting Sloss, they both agreed this location would provide the unique, relaxed, and energetic atmosphere they wanted. Working within a very limited budget, they felt that choosing an unconventional location would allow them to bypass some of the traditional wedding etiquette. "The location also said a lot about our interests" the groom told me. " I'm an Architect (student) and Beverly is a Graphic Designer. The soaring smokestacks and steel columns and beams (all decades old) provided an amazing setting. I've discovered one of my new favourite photographers! So much in fact that I emailed him to ask for not one, not two, but THREE of his weddings to feature...so hold onto your hats because over the next few days you're gonna see some serious awesome. First up is Tony & Katie's laid back, funky backyard wedding. Although the pair live in New York they opted to hold their wedding in Kentucky where all their family are based. I have to be honest, I've been gagging to share Aubrey & Marshall's wedding ever since photographer's Stacie & Geoffrey (you may remember them from their own - way too damn cool wedding) sent me a sneak peek...not only because of how rad this wedding actually is, but because I have secretly been harboring a photographic crush on Lang Photographers (I'm probably their biggest Twitter stalker!) Aubrey & Marshall diy-ed their whole wedding with very little budget - they just let their creativity run wild! Everything from the origami to the curtain, from the invitation to the pinwheels was constructed and created by the pair and I am dying over here! Julie & John got married in September 2008 at Luss Pier in Loch Lomond, Scotland. Although originally from Manchester, they chose this location as it was perfect for their ideal wedding - small and intimate - with only about 30 of their closest friends and family. They hired a boat from Sweeney's Cruises where they had their ceremony and drinks. Afterward they walked along the beach to the Lodge on Loch Lomond where they had their meal and the rest of their evening.Read more...

After seeing Emma & James' funky engagement session I couldn't wait to see the wedding and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Emma dress was a 1930's inspired design that was handmade for her in champagne crepe backed satin by 'Rags to Bitches' which is a vintage boutique on Tib Street in the Northern Quarter of Manchester. She teamed this will gorgeous peach, sequinned shoes from Karen Millen and a gorgeous vintage style headband which was made from glass beads and pearls from a bridal shop in Poynton, Cheshire called Timeless Bride.Read more...

I am really starting to fall head over heels in love with Matt Johnson Photography...and I'm not afraid to admit it! His images are subtle, unobtrusive and captures beautiful weddings with all the justice they deserve. Elodie & Greg's wedding was one I fell in love with as soon as I saw the first frame. Her amazing vintage-inspired outfit, jewellery and so-now white lace gloves make me smile with glee and his rad groom style puts every other groom to shame! The no-jacket/waistcoat look is totally Rock n Roll and looks way-too-cool when matched with his boys in braces. The details of this wedding are to die for - from the birdcages, the white heart motif, the retro 'admissions' sign, the outdoor chandelier. Awesome.Read more...

One of the greatest things about my job as a blogging maestro is all the wonderful people I get to meet...and it's even better when we get to meet in real life! The delightful Emma Case is down in London for a few weeks and so emailed me and suggested we meet up go out for Sushi. Now, those that know me will be well aware that I'm not one to say no to Sushi! We met up last Tuesday and immediately hit it off, talking non-stop about wedding planning, photography, blogging, husbands, proposals, flowers, music...you know the drill! As daylight broke, Anita, Alan and their guests rose for the exciting day that lay ahead of them. Anita put on her dress, designed especially for her by a local dress makers had her hair & make up done by her Aunt and picked up her flowers all donated by friends. The event started the day before, with everyone coming together to set up and organise for the next day's festivities. "On Thursday, after Seba and I spent two days on vacation exploring Castro, we met up with Anita, Alan, and about 30 of their closest friends." Kyle told me "We carpooled from Castro to Quicavi, another little seaside town, where we would take a boat to Voigue. But first, we had to load that bad boy up. When all was said and done, I was nearly certain that we would sink. I have never seen so much stuff packed into such a small space. I mean, pretty much the entire wedding, minus the tent, was being transported. "I’m so happy to finally be able to blog about Caroline & Ben’s beautiful London wedding. There are so many things I loved about this wedding, from Caroline’s stunning Jenny Packham gown and headpiece, to the gorgeous Market Suite at the Fox & Anchor where Caroline and the girls were getting ready, through to the beautiful ceremony at Islington Town Hall and reception at The Crypt.
