Vegas baby! Meredith send me such a great description of Reed & Alicia’s cheesily fabulous Vegas-themed wedding that I just have to hand this one over to her…
“Reed & Alicia planned their fun, quirky wedding in just six weeks! When they began looking for ceremony locations & venues, the two came across this small chapel located near the beach where they usually walk with their golden retriever. After looking inside and seeing the bright red carpet & a cheesy stained glass window (with a rainbow & two doves) at the altar, Reed & Alicia came up with the idea of having a kitschy Las Vegas-themed wedding in this Vegas-esque chapel. They found 60 pairs of “Elvis” sunglasses on Ebay and envisioned having their guests put on these sunglasses right after they were pronounced husband & wife, during their kiss.”
“Instead of immediately walking down the aisle after their first kiss as husband & wife, Reed & Alicia stayed in the front of the church with their wedding party, who were all proudly wearing their sunglasses, dancing as the band kept playing upbeat Elvis songs. (Reed plays the drums in a band and recruited his fellow band members to play at the ceremony!)
To keep with the Vegas-themed wedding, Reed & Alicia chose one of their favorite spots in Portland’s Old Port for their reception venue, The Wine Bar, because of its funky decor & Elvis art! Dice were on each table, as well as in the centerpieces. Zebra print fabric was used throughout the Wine Bar as well, to add to the “flashy” style of Vegas weddings. The bridesmaids also had zebra printed umbrellas to keep them dry from the cold, wet rain!”
