At its core, Jessie and Matt’s wedding was one where their guests felt involved. From inviting them to dress in their most extravagant outfits, to asking them bring their favourite flower with them (which were then gathered up on arrival to make the bride’s bouquet), these thoughtful moments made everyone feel included.

The inspiration behind this was simple – they a fun celebration with friends and family that featured an uninterrupted flow of drinks! As guests arrived and were waiting for the main event, they had freshly shucked oysters on demand, served with sparkling wine as a cellist played versions of their favourite songs.

The ceremony, held under a beautifully painted moon backdrop, was officiated by a dear friend turned celebrant, Ingrid. The couple exchanged their vows and read letters expressing their love and dreams for the future. The cellist played Can’t Help Falling in Love as they arrived and Don’t Stop Me Now as their jubilant exit anthem.

The floral decorations were also a labour of love by their wedding planner and friend, Mattea. Chosen morning-of at a wholesale market and painstakingly arranged before the event kicked off. Doing it this way not only saved money but made them arguably, even more special. However if was a very labour intensive process!

“My favourite part of the wedding was that I got to spend the day simply being in love with my beautiful bride”, the groom told us. “I feel like that was our job for the day from the first-look photos, to the ceremony itself, to the dance floor. We could just indulge in enjoying each other’s company amongst our nearest and dearest.”
