Today’s Sunday Kind of Love is going to Elsie Flanningan. I featured her awesome 1960’s flower brooch headband tutorial yesterday, and today I wanted to continue the love-in by bringing her Blog Love E-Course to your attention.
As well as brides-to-be’s I know a lot of my readers are also bloggers. Whether that be bride bloggers, photographer bloggers, professional wedding bloggers or personal/lifestyle bloggers. Our blogs are our babies and we all want our babies to flourish and grow don’t we? Elsie’s course is here to do just that.
Elsie’s currently runs two successful blogs, A Beautiful Mess, and her new wedding blog, Le Wedding Party. A Beautiful Mess alone gets between 20,000 – 30,000 visitors a day! In this e-course Elsie shares her hits, hips and tricks to building a better blog – everything from finding your voice, getting more readers, taking on sponsors, finding time to blog, dealing with drama (!), photography for bloggers and much much more! (full run down here)
I’ve devoured this course over the last few days and I can’t help but rave about how awesome it is! I literally feel like I could reel off paragraphs and paragraphs to illustrate how inspiring her blogging experience is and how relevant her tips and ideas are, but I must hold back so you can find out for yourself. Here is just one little snippet from the chapter about finding your online voice to whet your appetite…

“I know, I know… You’re supposed to “just be yourself”. That’s obvious, right? Well, here’s the thing. Communicating online is completely different from communicating in person. There’s no tone, there’s no inflection, there’s no expression. You have to create a personality through text and photos. To be clear, you should definitely communicate your real personality and not a made up one (that’s weird!)… however, it’s just different. Personalities are complex and a lot gets lost in translation. It’s up to you, the blogger, to learn to convey a genuine personality with your writing style.”
“This is a pretty intensive session full of personal advise and (gasp!) opinions. I couldn’t even begin the write this session without loads of personal experience and things I’ve learned the hard way. I think it’s important to know that there are so many great writing voices in the blog community. Each is different. My object isn’t to teach you to blog like me, in fact I don’t advise that at all. One of the most important things that you can gain from this e-course is more clarity about the sort of blogger you want to be and what makes you unique! So without further ado, let’s dive in…. ”
