I’ve had my Instax camera for a few years, but recently I’ve fallen head over heels in love with it again! From Omaha to LA and from Vegas to New York, my trusty Instax has traveled with me to document my friends and frolics along the way.
In these days of phone cameras to rival SLRs and Instagram to make us all feel like editing pros, there is still something so exciting about clicking that clunky button, hearing the whirring sound and waiting (for what feels like forever) for the picture to appear. They don’t always turn out how you expect, but that’s all part of the fun!
I was struggling with wondering how to display my favourite precious prints (as far as I’m aware no one has yet produced an Instax-holding photo frame) so Gareth came up with this…strips of MDF, painted white, for me to attach my current faves to and hang on our kitchen wall. Isn’t it cool? Now I can be reminded of my travels and my BFFs whenever we eat!
I own the Fuji Instax Mini 7 which takes credit card sized prints. The Instax Wide Format Camera is also pretty cool, a few of my friends own it and I’m dying to add it to my collection soon! The photos are double the size and would look awesome in individual photo frames I think.
So tell me, do you have an instant camera? Do you use it often? How do you display your prints?
I use Lomo Lomography Fotoclips to display mine. I love my instax mini too. If anyone finds a great instax album please let me know!
good stuff here, I love it, reminds of back in the 80’s with polaroids 🙂
I have a couple of Polaroids but the film is no longer in circulation. I have tried using Impossible Project film but it is so expensive! I’ve been toying with buying a an Instax (full size) for a while, the only thing putting me off is how bulky it is.
same here – a mosaic of photos made with the clips:)
loving my little white instax
I have a polaroid 600 but film is a pain to get hold of, I miss it though
I have the same one you have, and LOVE it. I have a stack of pictures proped up in a small vase type thing and I change the front one often, or I stick them in my journal. I reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllly want the Wide too.
I can’t drill many holes or else I’d try the MDF. I use the simple string and clothes pin method for my prints!
I got fabric coveted little wood boards and I just pin them on the board.
Just bought 100 films to let the guests at my wedding to use.
LOVE mine – have a whole load of pics pinned onto a big canvas in a heart shape – it’s great because if you want to change them you just take one off and pin on another one http://kirstylarmourblog.com/2011/10/fun-photo-projects/
ooh cute ideas everyone!
I use mine to pimp my diary. Some of them I just stick on my wall & all the rest I keep in an instax photo album. (you can look for them in ebay! They look so cute!)
@Kirsty: what a lovely idea! 🙂
@Smidge: Have a look on ebay! I bought mine there!
Love,
Femke
It’s definitely at the tippy top of my birthday wish list, so hopefully I’ll have one by July! I love how you displayed your pics, and I’m so honored to be a part of your display! ;D
Freakin’ love it. I totally want to do something like that on my wall.
I spy princess lasertron ! 😉
I just bought the wide instax on Wednesday and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!! Thinking of getting a notice board and pinning some string and getting mini clips to hold the photos. There is something about the linear way Gareth has done yours which really appeals to me 🙂
