I saw Steffany & Anders engagement photographs and amazing (like, seriously amazing) proposal video on their photographer Emily’s blog and instantly knew I had to feature them. These two are the actual cutest! Steffany told me the whole story…
“My story is something like, “OHMYGOD he proposed and it was SO CUTE!” And then I cried.
I still can’t believe he went to so much trouble. I always assumed that when/if he proposed it would be at a restaurant (which makes sense because we both LOVE to eat!) but instead he enlisted the help of five of his friends and made me the most amazing and thoughtful game ever. The game actually has a name – Dinner Love and the Quest for Soup! It’s named for my food blog, dinnerlove.com, and also for my love of SOUP! You can’t really tell in the video, but he put so many pieces of us in that game.”
“The maze is San Francisco, where we both live. The object of the game is for me to collect food and level up. The foods that I collect differ at each different level-there are cheeseburgers, cupcakes, margaritas and finally soup (all things that I enjoy immensely!) At the beginning of the game Anders is asleep in his bed in the middle of the maze, but after the first level I wake him up and he and I wander around the city maze and collect the foods together. As we progress, Anders professes his love for me and these little hearts start to follow us around. After the last level a ring pops up on screen. As I played through the game, it honestly didn’t occur to me that he was about to propose. I was a bit drunk and he designs video games for a living so I sort of just thought he’d just made me an awesome game!”
“When the ring screen popped up and I turned to see him on one knee I LOST IT. I started crying like a child. I couldn’t hear very much because I was just so overwhelmed but I do remember him asking me if I would continue to “level up with him”. Yes yes yes! Amanda & Byron got married in April at The Lake House Inn – Perkasie, PA. The couple met while working at the Trocadero Theater in Philadelphia. He was the though security guard and she was the box office girl/cocktail waitress.
Their proposal story is so adorable I had to share it before you see their awesome tattooed wedding. “On a hot summer day in July 2008 we decided to drive to Hamburg, PA and hike up to the Pinnacle, which overlooks the vast Lehigh Valley” Amanda told me. ”We are not avid hikers – we just like nature.
We started the hike up the trail which began as a small incline then transitioned to a steep climb. Our hike turned into more or a crawl (mostly for Amanda) as we pulled ourselves up the ridiculously vertical trail. After a few breaks and questioning our fate, we decided to hike back down the trail and find a nice place to relax and have our picnic. The climb down was just as difficult – but filled with laughter and exhaust we were having a wonderful time.”

#It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…#
Specially outside my front door, as it is currently snowing…woo! Will we finally have a white Christmas this year? That would certainly be awesome indeed. Let’s see what I’ve been spending my time doing this past 7 days shall we?
♥ The wonderful Gala Darling is one of my biggest blogging inspirations. She wrote this letter to me (well to all her readers, but it’s so poignant to me and how I’m feeling right now that it might as well have been addressed to moi) to let us know how great we are. It totally made my week so I have to share it with you too. Be sure to listen to the audio version, where she reads it in her cute kiwi accent. I heart her. Thanks you Ms Darling!

♥ Why fewer blog comments aren’t a bad thing
♥ Being in the UK, the new FTC announcement for sponsorship transparency doesn’t apply to me. However this article has persuaded me that writing one may be the best blogging decision I could make.
♥ We bought kittens! We have to wait until February 7thto get them because they are still only a monthand a month and a half old. I love them so much already! The one on the left is a boy and the one on the right is a girl. The are Maine Coons and will be heeeuge when they grow up (check out the girl’s daddy!) Any help with names will be greatly appreciated. Want to see more piccies?
