A Cancelled Wedding But a Perfect Marriage: Kiley & Nathan

Kat

March 6, 2012

Kiley & Nathan's Seattle wedding is sooo my cup of tea its unreal! Not only are these two clearly bad ass in their personal styling but the simple wedding focuses on what's really important - them, their wedding and their marriage. After an intimate ceremony on a beach, they planned their reception (pictured) for 6 months later. This wedding isn't full of 'details' or the pretty things us wedding bloggers usually go gaga over...no, instead it's full of the most important thing...the love! Ahhhh! "We got married July 20th in a small ceremony at sunset on Ocean Beach in San Francisco, where my husband is from," Kiley wrote. "It was amazing and perfect, very casual (I wore cut off shorts and vans!) and very us (Taco truck catered, bonfire and S'mores). But we also wanted to celebrate with all our friends and family and get a chance to dress up so we planned our reception for January 20th 2012, our 6 month anniversary, in Seattle where I am from."

Stephanie & Kevin’s Rockin’ Party Wedding

Kat

May 11, 2011

Stephanie & Kevin were married at Alveston Manor, Stratford upon Avon. The day started with an intimate ceremony and reception for just 20 guests. The couple then had a massive evening party with 200 people. "Only having 20 guests in the day we wanted it to be relaxed and just about the family and us the way we wanted to do it, then 200 guests in the evening to really party," the bride told me. "We did it our way and had great fun."

Jenn & Mark’s Uber Cool New York E-Sesh

Kat

December 20, 2010

Jenn & Mark's New York engagement sesh. is pure Rock n Roll. This couple are just way too cool and I know their wedding will be killer - I'm looking forward to seeing it already! Jenn's passion is photography and Mark's passion is music - the perfect Rock n Roll union. The shoot took place around High Line Park and the Lower East Side - arguable some of the coolest areas in the city. This shoot makes me pine for a trip to NYC really soon...just check out that light! I'm hoping to go in 2011 with some girlfriends.

Julia & Yuriy’s Rockstar Engagement Session

Kat

May 21, 2010

There are certain photographers that I equate to rock star status and Sean Flanigan is definately one of these. So you can imagine my excitement when he sent me Julia & Yuriy's recent engagement sesh for a potential feature. Would I like to blog them? Hell to the yes I would! Not only are this couple hella gorgeous but the simplicity of these images (no props, rad vintage car) makes Sean's amazing technically ability stand out even more and creates an utterly endearing and well, even more awesome set of images. I approve!

A Vintage, Rustic and Uber Chic Yorkshire Wedding

Kat

March 21, 2010

One of the greatest things about my job as a blogging maestro is all the wonderful people I get to meet...and it's even better when we get to meet in real life! The delightful Emma Case is down in London for a few weeks and so emailed me and suggested we meet up go out for Sushi. Now, those that know me will be well aware that I'm not one to say no to Sushi! We met up last Tuesday and immediately hit it off, talking non-stop about wedding planning, photography, blogging, husbands, proposals, flowers, music...you know the drill! I was particularly excited to hear about some fabulous weddings she's shot over the past few weeks and lucky for you I got first dibs on sharing them all with you (score!)

Rock that Frock

Kat

March 3, 2010

This fun all day trash the dress shoot was sent over by UK photographer Natasha Hurley. I really love seeingg the evolution of time thoughout these images - from the early morning light in the garden shots, to the late afternoon sun in the graffiti shots and the evening time darkness with the contrast of the artifical lights in the final urban images. Quite appart from that, the bride Miranda looks like she's having a ball and I love love love her heart shaped pink sunglasses.

Hannah & Ali’s Quirky, Art Deco and Too-Damn-Freakin’-Cool British Wedding

Kat

February 8, 2010

Do you remember Hannah & Ali's awesome 'at home' engagement shoot complete with their awesome kitty cat? Well I was over the moon to receive an email full to bursting with their quirky, vintagey wedding goodness from their photographer Steve Gerrard just the other day. I am loving Hannah's Jenny Packham dress and headband (le swoon indeed) and the bridesmaids look just too damn cool for school in their All Saints dresses. Their wedding took place just before Christmas at The Daffodil in Cheltenham, a fantastic converted 1920’s Art Deco picture house Steve tells us, The vintage theme continued throughout the wedding and I have to say I wish more couples would go down this route. I think it’s so cool and stylish. Hannah and Ali both looked amazing, but their guests also made a huge effort and win the award for best dressed guests ever! Yep this is defiantly one of the coolest UK weddings I've seen in a while (well...a few days maybe - I get sent a HELL lot of cool weddings!) Thanks to the wonderful Steve for sharing with us. A Schoolyard Elopement

Kat

February 8, 2010

Tiffany & Tyler's images is one I knew I had to blog as soon as I laid eyes on it. I love all the different elements at play here - the doggie, the Converse, the awesome dress...everything! The couple, who met at school, eloped and called their photographer friends Ashley & Stephanie that very morning to pop down and take some shots for them. They chose locations such as their old school to make the photographs really special. These two (and Nikki, their adopted greyhound, makes three!) were a true joy to shoot, and Ashley and I are so happy they chose us–they are the true quintessence of White Rabbit Studios! Fun, artistic, flirty, bright, and definitely a bit offbeat–all things we love. And, really, could we have asked for better sunshine? I think not. We chose two different locations–first, the (unfortunately) soon-to-be-closed East Clinton Elementary School, and then we reconvened for a few quick, fun shots (and delicious gelato!) at the ever-fabulous Sam & Greg’s in downtown Huntsville. Thanks to Ashley & Stephanie for sharing this amazing elopement with us today Credit: White Rabbit Studios

Makah & Andre's engagement shoot makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside; and as I sit here in my Slanket and fingerless gloves (I kid you not) I am so excited that they shared them with me! The South American couple met at the party of a mutual friend and they got married in December. After seeing these I am very excited to see their wedding photographs now too...I hope they make me feel just as snuggly warm. Thanks to Makah & Andre for sharing these with us

Light Up

Kat

January 3, 2010

Is it just me or did Christmas just zoom by!? The build up is always huge and I can't believe it's all over with now. As blog-land slowly wakes up after a much needed rest (not me..too much of a blogaholic I am...take two weeks off? Are you nuts?!) I'm still swooning over the many Crimbo-related submissions I've been receiving. Catie & Dave's engagements stood out as soon as photographer Lisa sent them to me. Not only is Catie a huge fan of Rock n Roll Bride (she gets instant kudos and jumps the the front of the featuring queue for that one) but the couple's shoot is nothing short of spectacular. The Christmas lights really bring the shots alive and how can I resist the fact that to propose, Dave got 'Will you marry me?' inked on his arm, thank God she said yes! Thanks to Lisa for sharing these and to Catie & Dave for being aweome. I can't wait to see how their wedding turns out in October.

And so we Danced

Kat

December 22, 2009

How exactly am I supposed to find the world to accurately describe these images and do them justice? I'm not sure I'm up to the challenge. The gothic glamour, the sense of feeling you get from these is just..well...amazing. The images certainly do all the talking here. They tell their own story. Photographer Annie told me: The idea for this shoot wasa real mix of rock n' roll and art. We incorporated Tom Petty's song, "Last Dance with Mary Jane" into a photo shoot with 2 agency models (Mirela Paraganglija, and Nima Nezhad) and a fantastic bridal gown designer. We shot it as though it was Mary Jane's wedding day/last dance...as though it was her final send off. Models: Nima Nezhad & Mirela Paraganlija Wardrobe Stylist: Lim Utariat. Makeup: Julianne Chai Bridal Gown designer:Kate Cheung Thanks to Annie & Benjamin for not only shooting such awesomeness but for sharing it with us today. I am so excited to see more from you in future. Epic.
