Maya and Collin chose Halloween season as the backdrop for their wedding. They kicked things off with a trip to Halloween Horror Nights, and wanted a day that was part goth, part fall harvest, part Day of the Dead. "We were thinking spooky romantic", Maya said. Their florist, The Little Branch pulled their styling ideas together with dark plums, branches, moss, and skulls. The look felt old-world and atmospheric without needing much direction.

Taylor and Erik wanted a wedding that doubled as an adventure. They found it in Moab, Utah, surrounded by red rocks, sandstone arches, and the perfect amount of eerie timing. Taylor told us, “We originally chose our wedding date purely for the spooky thrill of getting married on Friday the 13th, but once we realised the eclipse was the next morning, it felt like the universe’s way of telling us: Yep, you picked the perfect time and place to kick off your life together as husband and wife.”

Melissa and Heder’s wedding was gothic romance themed day in September. The couple exchanged vows at the St. Francis Chapel, an architectural gem tucked inside Balboa Park’s Museum of Us. “We love history, art, and architecture, and our venues reflect that,” Melissa says. “The chapel looks like something out of an old Catholic church, but it’s actually an exhibit. It’s unconsecrated, which made it feel like we were bending the rules just a little.”
