Modern Vintage Style

David & Camden’s wedding portraits made my day. You’ve got the love the combination and contrast between the uber modern setting of the ‘first look’ portraits and the indoor setting with that dramatic lighting, followed swiftly by the fun, retro and cool outdoor portraits with that awesome car! The pictures pretty much tell the whole story here…and I posted loads. It was actually hard to cut it down to just this many! Enjoy…

ps I love love love her vintage gloves!

With Christmas literally hours away (eeek) you’d be forgiven for thinking I’d be winding down for the year and blog land would slowly have become a lonely little place. Naaahh my darlings! 1920’s Glamour Puss

This stunning vintage shoot was put together by Vicky Rowe ( Styling) of Vintage Teasets, Bella & Fifi and Floriture (flowers),  Clifton Cakes and photographer Rosie Parsons. Other shout outs needed for the fabulous hair and make up gals – Donna Owens, Sarah Brock & Becky Simpson.

One of the best things about this whole set has got to be the fabulous fashion huh? It looks so authentic and wonderfully unique. They used reproduction and actual vintage dresses supplied by Lindsay Fleming, Elizabeth Avey and Leluxe Clothing. The awesome feathered and diamante head pieces were supplied by Sheena Holland (the crochet wire knit pieces were supplied with the Lindsay Fleming dresses).and wait for it – original 1920’s Manolo Blahniks! Oh hell yes! Well done to everyone involved – truly a triumph.

Simply Extraordinary

Photo shoots like this are why I love blogging sooo much. I just feel happy looking at them! Stacey’s simple gown looks perfectly Rock n Roll paired with that kick ass huge red flower, her awesome icy blond hair and ink.

Ok, It’s time to swoon now

Sweet Tooth

I actually featured newbie photographer Shannon McLaughlin‘s own wedding  waaaay back in February – many of you may recognise her as Mrs Candy Corn from Wedding Bee. Well, like many of us recent brides, the thought of giving up all things wedding once she’d tied the knot was too much to bear so she decided to venture into wedding photography herself…and oh how pleased we are that she did! She has only had her professional camera for a little over a month and look how awesome she is already!

The recently engaged Veronika & Bryan acted as models for this shoot. Veronika owns her own vintage shop called Sweet Tooth Vintage through the fabulous Etsy so she had lots of amazing outfits to wear. I am also loving the various props and locations used for this shoot – an environmental centre in Philadelphia, the couple’s own home (including their insane number of pets!) and a cuuuute tandem bike!

Contrast & Style

This Australian wedding blew me away as soon as I laid eyes on that dress! Shannon & Carl got married in Brisbane and had a vintage glam wedding full of quirky and classically styled delights. I am loving the multi-layered, uber cute Paul Hunt dress and accessories that Shannon rocked (including her amazing bouquet – le swoon indeed.) Her shoes were from Miu Miu and her beautiful hairpiece was found at Chelsea De Luca. The bridesmaids looked equally vintage-gorgeous in their dresses by The Magical Adventures of Dolly. The locations are to die for – the  glamorous ceremony venue, the Tattersall’s Club, contrasts perfectly with rough ‘n ready portrait site and the super trendy, waterside reception which took place at Riverlife, the old Naval Stores beside the Brisbane River. A wedding of contrasts and a wedding of style.

Steam Punk

I have to say, I don’t really know what steam punk is…but from what I gather it’s this – a mad hatter, crazy colour, super duper ott, satin, goggled, gothic extravaganza! Is that somewhere close?

Sleepy Hollow(een) Wedding

I don’t get to feature enough gothic style weddings so when Carmel & Drynn’s rustic yet opulent gothic affair landed on my desk I jumped at the chance to share these.

The Bride told me…
I found my dress at Gothic Wedding Dresses and our flowers were done by Punch Portland. The inspiration for our theme was based on Tim Burton-esque Sleepy Hollow, classic Victorian but with a dark feel. We are kind of “darker” individuals so we wanted that reflected but wanted to do it in a classy tasteful way. We didn’t want to scare our guests too much! We picked Drynn’s hat up at a vintage store the feather piece & my headpieces were done by Cricket Quills.

Vintage Glam & Fun

Chris & Carly’s vintage glam wedding was planned with fun in mind..that was it – lets have a blast! The pair didn’t want traditions or fuss to play a part, instead focusing on great style (white bridesmaid dresses oh yes!), a ton of character and a party that they could claim as their own.

Just Delicious

Amy & Lance are just awesome. Can you believe Amy actually made her hairpiece and shoes…and guess what? She runs her own Etsy store so you could even get something similar yourself. I am also a little bit obsessed with the red velvet sofa and the bright red apple…good enough to eat…literally!

Grand & Unusual

Happy Monday my lovelies. Being away from my computer for 2 days means I have a hell of a lot of stuff to now catch up on (good for you!) including announcing the finalists for the Love Me Do Photography contest – check back later today to check them out and vote for your favourites to win!

Starting off the week in style is this stunning red haired bride. The shoot took place in a funeral home of all places (her father works there) but the setting certainly made for a rather grand and unusual backdrop. Yummy indeed.

Wed Like Rockstars

You know what, I was supposed to wait until tomorrow to share these but I just couldn’t. It was like having to keep a secret and I’m no good at keeping secrets!  I’m sure many of you have been waiting with baited breath to see these – hell, I know I have been dying to get these out! It’s worth the wait though I assure you.

Carly & James tied the knot at a winery in Sanger, CA. Her dress was an authentic vintage tutu style dress and feathery veil and James didn’t even want to shave on the day – he rocked it though right!? So without further ado…prepare to be blown away by greatness. A Rock n Roll Bride classic if ever I’ve seen one.
