Carly & Steven's day after shoot brings joy into my world today. Hello again you gorgeous creatures, I hope you didn't miss me too much this weekend (although I was pretty rubbish at staying away - my phone kept me up to date quite nicely with Twitter and Facebook!) Stand by for the announcement of the year...Yes I, Kat Williams obsessed with all things blog am taking the weekend OFF! "Holy crap" I hear you cry, "How is such a thing possible?" Well you're right, this will be my first weekend away from the blog since...well...January I reckon. How ridiculous is that? Gareth & I are heading to a family event and whilst I would normally work my fingers to the bone the week before scheduling posts over the weekend so you wouldn't miss me, I've decided that I really could do with a bit of a break and this weekend away to just concentrate on me and Gareth, not worry about moderating comments, replying to emails or checking my twitter. Therefore if you do need to get hold of me you'll just have to wait! Have a good old weekend people. Love you all! But hang on, I couldn't leave you with nothing could I? Jill & Andrew knew they wanted an Art Deco style wedding as soon as they got engaged. Jill in particular really looked the part in her Priscilla of Boston dress, gorgeous custom birdcage veil from Unveiled Bridal Designs, stunning necklace by Ranjana Khan and customised J Crew shoes. Jill told me all about their day: Andrew and I both love the Art Deco period of art, fashion and music. From the first moment he proposed with an estate amethyst rose gold ring from the 1940s (Louisiana), we knew our wedding would be vintage inspired. We love black and ivory and used these colors to create our classic wedding story. Peacock feathers, swing music, and birdcage veils for the belles of the bride all set the stage for our soiree. We fell in love with Savannah because of the ornate iron work, stunning mansions, Southern & European charm and historic standing. Savannah itself represents both of our roots, myself being from Georgia, and Andrew from England. The Mansion provided the perfect backdrop. Both being foodies, we chose tiers of artisan cheese to create our wedding cake from Murray's in New York City.Read more...

Oooh what a set of tasty treats I have for you this week. As ever, I have been blown away with the joy that blog land and the internet has spread this week. First off an extra special mention to Naz of Oliver Rue who sent me a little delight in the post in the form of some 'rockstar' magnets and the most adorable handmade card which is now adoring my fridge. I love Megan & Brodie. I loved them as soon as I featured their Rock n Roll engagements a few months ago. So when Alica of In the Now Weddings & Events emailed me to share this kick ass wedding she'd helped to organise my first thought was "Hey, I know them!" When Megan & Brodie decided to get married, they knew they wanted it to feel homey and old fashioned, with a little rock and roll thrown in. They decided to have the ceremony and reception at the uber trendy Marvimon House, an awesome sustainable loft space in downtown Los Angeles. The pair are both vegan and we wanted to have a 100% vegan wedding. They served a delicious, locally grown, vegan buffet, Megan made 150 cupcakes and 8 dozen cookies and their friend (and maid of honor) homebrewed all of the beer! Megan's dress was a sample-sale-purchased Elizabeth Fillmore gown(Tattered Tulle from her Spring 2005 collection) and Brodie scored an absolutely amazing 60's suit from Jake's Vintage. They constructed a DIY photobooth, made 3 sets of favours, did all their own flowers and had the best kids table ever! This Australian wedding blew me away as soon as I laid eyes on that dress! Shannon & Carl got married in Brisbane and had a vintage glam wedding full of quirky and classically styled delights. I am loving the multi-layered, uber cute dress and accessories that Shannon rocked (including her amazing bouquet - le swoon indeed) and the locations are to die for - the glamourous ceremony hotel contrasts perfectly with rough 'n ready portrait site and the super trendy, waterside reception venue. This roller derby bride (who met her friend and photographer Lilly whilst playing roller derby for the Rat City Rollers in Seattle) married her long term boyfriend at a 1920's/1930's Bonnie & Clyde inspired wedding in Kubota Gardens, a Japanese garden in Seattle. The entire wedding party was in vintage 1930's garb, as were many of the guests. A getaway car in the form of a 1930's hot rod was provided by a good friend of Randi and Todd's: Jerry Chinn, who is a local prop house owner and collector of vintage vehicles. He was kind enough to pull over a couple of times so the photographer could get some really great shots of them with the car. I knew Amy & Jesse's wedding would be off-the-hook with it's intense awesomeness as soon as I saw and blogged their engagements a while back. Surely a couple this offbeat and rockin' couldn't have anything but a super crazy, kooky, inspirational and incredible wedding day could they? However, even I was blown off my chair when I laid eyes on these little beauties. Their DIY, carnival wedding was not only ridiculously creative and awe-inspiring but the couple themselves literally looked like a candy covered explosion of kick ass attitude and fun all over! (By the way I fully realise that my explanation of my thoughts on this wedding probably make little or no grammatical and linguistical sense - however my intense excitement over getting to blog these appears to have rendered by logical brain dysfunctional!) Fern & Ben organised their eco wedding themselves with the help of their families. Fern's uncle even made the gorgeous cake. Everything from the invitations (recycled paper with hand-pressed flowers) to the ring bearer's pillow (Fern sewed it herself) was a DIY job. Ben even designed Fern's engagement ring from eco-friendly jewelers (rose gold with a single chocolate diamond.) They chose to get married on the land where Fern was born. The material for the gorgeous napkins were all different patterns and colours and every table had a sharpie at it so the napkins could act as a guestbook, each piece will now be turned into a quilt with which they will always remember their wedding day. A couple of other unique aspects from this wedding were the slideshow (they pinned old pictures of themselves on a clothesline in the trees) and the fact that Fern's oldest sister married them. The dress that Fern wore was a designer dress that she borrowed (she's a model). It was an original, one of a kind Melissa Sweet sample. The flowers were different assortments of wildflowers and no table or bridesmaid had the same arrangement. The ENTIRE bridal party even went barefoot! They had a bagpipe player before the ceremony which was very, very cool and beautiful. Their reception was super fun with a bluegrass band, good-luck sparkler dance and plenty of dancing.Read more...

Who couldn't love the quirky, vintage, rustic, eco wedding of Amanda & Matt? I am particularly gaga about the wheat bouquet and boutonnieres and Amanda's beautiful cameo bracelet. The pair wed at theirhome in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia. They rented a tentand despite the torrential downpour most of the day, things worked out really well in there. Friend and caterer, Nikki Kleinberg, catered the wedding using mostly foods grown in the urban farm Amanda and Matt maintain adjacent to their backyard. These two are super into self sustaining, eco-friendly means to living in the city. Amanda made her own flowers and centerpieces and friends played the music for the wedding ceremony plus they even dj-ed their own reception. Paulus and Natasha's pre wedding video by the ridiculously talented guys at Axioo is so incredible that I literally couldn't wait to get it up here. Words almost fail me. The way the stills and the moving image merge seamlessly is just so perfect and the way music builds and builds to that incredible crescendo at the end is so moving! This bride actually bought a prom dress to wear on her big day as she wanted a little black number! It fitted in perfectly with their venue (an estate) and it's beautiful and old demeanor - it was full of antiques which suited the couple and their style perfectly. The reception was outside held and decorated with butterflies and moss which certainly made for the perfect backdrop for photographs. With an English family who love football (soccer!) they had to get a game in there. The bride even bought wellies - black and pink of course - to play along in the rain too.
