25 Non-Diamond Engagement Rings

alternative non diamond wedding engagement rings

Diamonds aren’t always a girl’s best friend. Whether it’s for ethical reasons, they’re just too damn expensive, or just because you really want something a bit more individual, there are so many alternative engagement rings to be found!

Here are some of my current favourites.

what a beautiful list! Where can I find the heart shaped band? The link takes me to the purple beauty above it.

    Thank you 🙂

My better half brought me a Rob Ryan ring in Rose Gold. It says “Love Forever” (or Forever Love) on it in Rob Ryan’s signature lettering. People are always quite surprised when they ask to see my ring and I show them. But I’m not a big bling/stone/fuss kind of girl so hubby to be got it 100% right. Diamonds are certainly not this girls best friend!!! I wouldn’t change my ring for anything ♡

I have a 6ct princess cut created garnet set in 9ct white gold that I designed. Made by a local jeweller. It means a lot to me as I used my inheritance from my grandmother to pay for it. But I love that blush topaz and the last one. 🙂

  4. Claire

I don’t have a ring. I never wanted one. Instead I have an engraved bracelet. These are some very pretty alternatives to the traditional diamonds though.

  5. Gemma

my fiancée got me a gorgeous opal ring set in white gold, as we are from the UK but live in Australia so it represents our new home.

  6. Vaseydaisy

I got a mystic topaz ring as an engagement ring this year! A marquis cut topaz in yellow gold, in an art deco inspired design. I get a million compliments and I absolutely love that it is different then the diamond in white gold that is the standard (not that there is anything wrong with that if that’s what you want of course, just not what I wanted). Love this article!

  7. I have an opal ring, which my fiance chose without my input. I’d never thought about what I’d want in an engagement ring (it was a surprise) but I absolutely love mine and would never change it. In the past a couple of my friends have mentioned swapping it for a diamond when we’re making more money – they didn’t mean to be rude, they just assumed that I’d want to do that. But in a million years I could never swap this ring for anything. It’s my ring, and the sentimental value is way more than a diamond is worth!
