Don’t get me wrong, love is a wonderfully glorious thing, but the forced “We’re so in lurrrve, let’s spend lots of money on overpriced bouquets and go to a packed restaurant with everyone else that’s also in lurrrrrve” attitude around Valentine’s Day isn’t really my bag.
Gareth and I are much more likely to stay in with a takeaway than go out to a fancy restaurant, and while he buys me ‘just because’ flowers all the time, I don’t think he’s ever bought me some on V-day. He likes to be unpredictable and I think that’s way more romantic anyway.
In saying that, it is nice to give a nod of “I think you’re the best” to your other half on Valentine’s, but doing so doesn’t have to make you cringe. So I went on a hunt for the most non-butt clenching cards and prints I could find… Oh and one set of marshmallows, because who wouldn’t want to get custom marshmallows as a gift?!
I’ve also partnered with Etsy on this post to give someone a £50 voucher to spend on their website! Just scroll down to the end to find out how to enter.

I would probably buy something to keep me warm whilst at the same time not looking too much like a hibernating bear. I’m SO Cold and I need a chunky knit wonder woman Cape that I can wear at home (and to the corner shop, let’s be honest) and feel like warm blood is running through my body again!
a big warm cozy jumper
I would get my honey something. He’s always getting me pretty things.

I’m a single lady, so need to swish around in this because I want to and it would make me feel fabulous.
I’d spend hours searching for a perfect wedding day gift for my fiancée for organising our perfect-for-us wedding in Vegas =).
I’d buy handmade earrings I have my eye on for my bridesmaids but have no money to buy them at the moment!! They are little hand blown glass balls filled with real Scottish white heather….a symbol of good luck and fortune for them to keep and a memory of my Scottish wedding in the hills. But will also look beautiful with their dresses and fit well with the Scottish country flowers and theme of my wedding day should they choose to wear them on the day!
I have a couple of weddings coming up, so it would be great to use towards gifts. Or just buy a basketful of the literature-themed jewellery I keep coveting- in particular there’s a beautiful bird-shaped brooch overlaid with a page from ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ which I keep nearly sneaking into the basket each time I buy something for someone else! We used bird motifs in our wedding décor so it always raises a smile when I wear clothes or jewellery featuring them too 🙂
I have been collecting mementos, photos and letters that my fiance and I have exchanged since we met. I would buy a beautiful art deco style box to stash them all in and present it to my fiance on our wedding day.
Definitely a knitted hat with a knitted beard attached. And a matching one for my chap 🙂
I’d put it towards my fab handmade etsy wedding dress – final version yet to be settled on…
patchwork
Perhaps a lovely satchel for my darling or a throw to cozy up our home.
A vintage style dressing gown x
Powder blue birdcage veil to match my pink n blue flamingo print rockabilly wedding dress. Hell yer.
My guy is not the marrying kind but your site keeps my dreams alive!
To celebrate our 10th year together I would buy him something with robots or Star Wars from Etsy, because he’s the loveliest nerd I know!
I would buy some fab decorations I’ve seen for my wedding in September!
A cosy, woolly sweater to cheer me up in this winter gloom.
I would get a handmade wooden memory game for my sons birthday, we would all love playing with it as a family.
I’d buy some Star Wars customised shoes 🙂
This stunning 1950s dress: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/213707674/1950s-red-silk-faille-one-shoulder?ref=cat_gallery_40&ga_search_query=1950s+red+dress&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_search_type=all

A personalised piece of jewellery for my bridesmaid
Ooooooh I would defs spend it all at the super super talented MadHatterArtwork etsy shop. Especially the “boys tears” vintage tea cup
After my wedding hair trial yesterday I’d use it to buy something fabulous to go in my hair! If there’s anything left I’d put it towards photobooth props for the DIY tardis ‘photobooth’ that hubby-to-be built for my 30th a couple of years ago and is upgrading for our wedding & wedding party!
I’d have to treat myself to as many skull candles as possible, after you posted about them I’m obsessed!!
i would spend hours and hours stocking up on things I really shouldn’t be buying but that I must have and own!!
It would probably end in tears as I no doubt would have too much in my basket so would need to whip the credit card out!!!
I would put it towards a unique gift for each of my best girls. There is so much amazing choice on there!
I’ve seen some knickers on Etsy that would make my bum look like a fox’s head so I’d probably go for those. My fiancé and I love foxes (we went through a phase of singing What does the fox say at each other, and dancing stupidly) and I could really do with some cute undergarments for V day, I know he’d totally appreciate it.
I would buy a couple of these. Potentially for bridesmaids… Maybe just for me. Not decided colours yet. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/214118547/a-party-v-charming-dress-prom-party?
I am planning on buying my bridesmaids an infinity knot ring for them to wear on the day and then keep as a symbol of our friendship. The only ones that I’ve seen that I really like are on Etsy, so it would help to spread the ever-increasing wedding costs!
I would buy a Piggie ring.
The all you need is love cake topper for our Liverpool themed wedding in September and a few bridesmaid gifts to
I’d buy indie nail polish and customised shoes
I would buy crafting things
Pastel skull candles all the way!
A personalised piece of jewellery
Id buy some Disney inspired clothes/jewellery to take to Orlando, Florida with me! 😀
If I was the lucky winner I put it towards a gorgeous gift for my granddaughter, something like this would be perfect. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/151249138/personalised-bridesmaid-flower-girl-maid?ref=sr_gallery_8&ga_search_query=flower+girl&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery
I’ve been on the hunt for a non traditional wedding dress for a long time! I would use the voucher towards something one off but that I could wear again! 🙂
i will buy some beautiful skull candles i already saw on etsy to put them all around the bath tube and have a romantic bath with my babe!
I’d treat myself to some handmade candles x
I’d buy a big glittery fake stag head to hang on our bedroom wall. Etsy is full of them and I’ve lusted after one ever since we bought our house but can never quite justify the cost.
I would buy something new and lovely to dress my bed.
chunky jumper

I would buy a lovely present for my brother who is getting married very soon
Some lovely warm gloves to help me when clearing all the snow we have.
Is my daughter’s 18th soon so would buy her some vintage jewellery 🙂
A big chunky jumper to keep me warm
