A Sunday Kind of Love – Eyelash Extensions with The London Dolls

This Week’s Love List…

♥ tidy house, tidy mind ♥ making amends ♥ Mexican food, cocktails and giggles ♥ taxidermy dreams ♥ Living Jewels ♥ making lists ♥ ticking things off lists ♥ USA! USA! USA! (only 9 sleeps to go!) ♥ closest clean outs ♥ long phone gossips ♥ coffee mornings ♥ all you can eat sushi (!) ♥

Best of the Rest…

Eyelashes. If you’re anything like me there’s nothing like a big fat pair of fluttery falsies worn on a night out to make you feel a million dollars. I’m also one of those people who feels totally naked if I go out without several layers of my ‘false lash effect’ mascara on. Please tell me I’m not the only weirdo like this?

False lashes rock but I’m pretty rubbish at putting them on myself…plus at between £5-£15 a pop they’re a pretty expensive habit huh? So when I was invited by Beth of The London Dolls if I’d like to try out her semi-permanent eyelash extensions…well I pretty much jumped at the chance!

The process took just over an hour and didn’t hurt a bit! I wear contact lenses and have quite sensitive eyes but the whole thing was much less of an ordeal than I expected.

Beth attached the individial lashes to my own lashes, not the skin of the eyelid like you would with normal false eyelases so again, no pain or discomfort at all! The glue used is pretty strong stuff (similar to medical glue that hospitals use to glue wounds together) so it ain’t going to budge! You can wear as much eye make up with these babies as you wish and can remove it using water-based eye-make up remover. These lashes ain’t going anywhere…

The lashes last between 3 – 6 weeks and simply fall out when your own natural lashes do. You can also get infill’s every couple of weeks (which works out cheaper than getting a whole new set each time) if they start to thin.

I went for the dramatic ‘glam’ look (I don’t do things by halves!) and Beth even put a few pink lashes on the corners for me! There is no need for mascara when you have these babies in, making them perfect for brides who are worried about the dreaded mascara-runnage if it all gets a bit too emotional on the wedding day.

Eyelash extensions with The London Dolls costs just £50 (introductory price.) Beth is works from her flat in North London but will travel to you to do your lashes at home (or at the office!) anywhere within London at no extra charge.

Happy fluttering!

I’ve been addicted to eyelash extensions for 4 months now and I LOVE them! You look gorgeous Kat. 🙂

  2. Yup! My friend did mine for our big day, I however am a picker and they were all out within a few days, like hair extensions and nail varnish, they look great for a few days before I am fidgeting and picking. Make you look and feel very Hollywood, would certainly recommend them! X

  3. I have very long eye lashes and ever since trying ‘drag’ eye lashes in my teens I avoided eye lashes. On my wedding day my fab makeup artist persuaded me otherwise and they looked lush. I’m now all for them !

    Neda x

  4. Oh, no! It’s too bad that every year in Sept/Oct we spend a couple of days in London… except this year (we’re heading to Nottingham instead).! I would have certainly looked for Beth!
    Love, love, love from Italy!
    Irene.
