A French Resturant Wedding: Kat & Ton

Kat

November 29, 2012

Being massive foodies, Kat & Ton knew that serving a fantastic meal was high on their list of wedding day priorities. So for their reception venue they selected their favourite French restaurant in Brisbane, Montrachet. "In my opinion Montrachet is the best French restaurant in the city, and has been a family favourite for years", Kat told me. "Feeding our families and friends good food and wine was very important to us. The staff, both kitchen and front of house, made sure the night was perfect with superb food and exceptional service."

Cheesily Fabulous ~ Vegas Baby!

Kat

Vegas baby! Meredith send me such a great description of Reed & Alicia's cheesily fabulous Vegas-themed wedding that I just have to hand this one over to her... "Reed & Alicia planned their fun, quirky wedding in just six weeks! When they began looking for ceremony locations & venues, the two came across this small chapel located near the beach where they usually walk with their golden retriever. After looking inside and seeing the bright red carpet & a cheesy stained glass window (with a rainbow & two doves) at the altar, Reed & Alicia came up with the idea of having a kitschy Las Vegas-themed wedding in this Vegas-esque chapel. They found 60 pairs of "Elvis" sunglasses on Ebay and envisioned having their guests put on these sunglasses right after they were pronounced husband & wife, during their kiss.

Contrast & Style

This Australian wedding blew me away as soon as I laid eyes on that dress! Shannon & Carl got married in Brisbane and had a vintage glam wedding full of quirky and classically styled delights. I am loving the multi-layered, uber cute dress and accessories that Shannon rocked (including her amazing bouquet - le swoon indeed) and the locations are to die for - the glamourous ceremony hotel contrasts perfectly with rough 'n ready portrait site and the super trendy, waterside reception venue. A wedding of contrasts and a wedding of style. Thanks to newcomer Stephen for sharing one of his very first weddings with us.

Newlywed's Bianca & Sean got married in Cape Town (where they have now lived for 10 years) at a gorgeous restaurant called Pure at Hout Bay Manor. The wedding was based on a vintage/retrospective theme. The Bridesmaids all chose their own sleek black dresses and the boys wore skinny ties and sharp black suits. Bianca looked every bit the vintage princess in a custom made silver satin and lace wedding gown made by local couturier Cindy Bam and a vintage 1920s hat and veil.

Glamorous. Intimate. Chic

A City Hall ceremony doesn't have to mean a quicky wedding. Herdah & Jonathan had a pretty damn glamorous but intimate and chic wedding at San Francisco's City Hall followed by an even more glamorous but similarly unconventional reception at E&O Trading Company. Hardah wore a dress by Lian Carlo Couture and shoes by Kate Spade. The beautiful flowers and suculents were put together by Herdah's best friends and bridesmaids, the cupcakes were from Kara's Cupcakes . Stunning. Thanks to the ever wonderful Caroline & Dan for sending these to Moi Credit: Tinywater Photography

A Wedding With No Theme

Kat

September 17, 2009

The only theme behind Sarah and Dominick's wedding was to be themselves, to rock out and of course to not hide their tattoos! As photographer Lindsey revealed: The wedding had no theme. It was simply a young, hip, tattoo covered couple. What really made this wedding rock was the fact that the bride and groom were both tattoo covered (complete with each inking the other's name on their arms) and they were completely in love. The bride and groom, as well as myself, are complete individuals in word and deed. Therefore it was a perfect fit. The venue was a simple restaurant in Princeton and not a frilly wedding hall. It was a down to earth affair, with the bride wearing a blue engagement ring, and the first dance was to the Grateful Dead. The focus remained on the individuals getting married, and not about wedding day fluff. Thanks Lindsey, you rock...
