Thai Restaurant & Rock Bar Wedding with a £4000 Budget

Sarah and Ben met on MySpace in 2007 when they were just 15 and 16 years old. They had a long distance relationship, seeing each other every weekend, until they went to the same university and moved in together. “Since then we have adopted three cats, moved house four times, and spent over 11 years together”, they said.

With a £4000 budget and a desire to get married without anything too fancy, expensive or posh, they planned a perfectly ‘them’ cerebration for January this year. “We wanted the day to be very us”, said Sarah. “Nothing too posh or over the top – we just wanted everyone to be happy, eat good food, get drunk and have fun partying with us.”

“A lot of our friends commented on how before our wedding day they hadn’t enjoyed attending friend’s weddings because they were so structured and formal. I believe we managed to have a relaxed although organised wedding day which allowed everyone to be themselves and have fun.”

Mississippi Beach Wedding with a Vera Wang Dress and $1 Bridesmaid Dresses!

Krissy and Mike describe their outdoor wedding as “kinda romantic, southern, nerdy and unique all in one” – sounds cute and right up our street!

Krissy looked effortless in a blush pink Vera Wang dress and vintage jewellery, despite forgetting to put her veil on when she was getting ready! “Well in all the nerves and excitement we forgot to put my veil on”, she laughed. “After the ceremony my maid of honour came running to me to tell me and at that point I was on cloud nine and didn’t care so we popped it in for a few photos.” Her bridesmaids wore purple and grey from David’s Bridal (which were $1 each in a closing sale!) and Mike looked suave in a Marc Jacobs suit – they both wore Vans on their feet – comfort and style in one!

Their ceremony was held on the lawn of The Chimneys, a restaurant in Gulfport, Mississippi with a beautiful beach view. She chose to have both of her parents walking down the aisle. “Both of my parents walked me down the aisle and it meant so much to have them beside me,” Krissy says. “I had a bit of a walk so I couldn’t see Mike until I got closer but the look on his face made every night of planning and all the tears of doubt if I was choosing the right colours for the cake worth it! We literally couldn’t even stand still because we were both so nervous and shaking! There was a nice breeze coming over the water from the beach, the feeling in the air was truly breathtaking and I couldn’t have asked for more.”

Laid back Bohemian Wedding in an Amazing Kansas City Restaurant

Ivy and Nate wanted their wedding day to be a party focused on good music, good food and even better drinks; a brief they absolutely SMASHED. Their wedding was held at the beautiful and ornate The American in Kansas City and it just keeps getting cooler from there.

They had decided not to have a ceremony on that day, opting instead of a private one at their house on a later date. This meant that Ivy and Nate got ready together with family and friends, “It was really nice because we experienced every part of the day together,” Ivy explains. “I know everyone says this but the day goes by so fast, so spend as much time together as you can.”

Ivy and Nate look like total bad asses in their wedding outfits, with Ivy wearing a Giambattista Valli dress she bought from Net-A-Porter. “I was out of town a lot in the build up to the wedding and just never made the time to go and try on dresses with family and friends. In the end, I did a lot of looking on wedding blogs to find my dress – I bought four, and ended up keeping this one.”

Nate wore a custom made suit from Manuel Couture, from Nashville. “Manuel has made suits for countless celebrities, and I think Nate was most excited about owning a Manuel suit!”
