Disco meets Enchanted Forest Wedding in Manhattan

Jeremy and Jamie didn’t set out to have an alternative wedding, but it soon became clear to them when they started their planning journey that actually, they wanted to be able to customise pretty much everything. As they live and work in Brooklyn, it was important to the couple that they use local vendors and a local venue which they had an excuse to go back to afterwards. They settled on The Bell House, a multi-use event space which also hosts regular comedy shows and concerts that they love attending.

“A big part of the wedding was making sure our guests got to experience our favourite things,” Jamie began. “Jeremy was a Broadway musician before law school and we both love music so it was important to us to have live music throughout the day that really rocked. Aesthetics-wise, we’re both really into  super-saturated jewel tones so we figured we should just lean into the moody colour palette. Above all else, we wanted a day that felt super loving, accepting and positive for everyone involved.”

Black & White Tim Burton-esque Wedding with Pops of Colour

Sophie and Michael’s love of Tim Burton movies, particularly, Nightmare Before Christmas, inspired their November wedding. They were influenced by the aesthetics of Halloween Town, which is dark and creepy but has pops of colour. The bride had a black and white striped dress made for her by Rosie Red Corsetry & Couture which she wore with an OGSquad crown. The decorations were all homemade and their handfasting ceremony, led by a friend, featured the vows from Corpse Bride.

The day took place at All at The Red Brick Barn in Essex and kicked off with the couple standing up on the stage for the ceremony. “The ceremony itself was quite calm, besides a little mix up with music, as we had the legal part done last year”, Sophie explained.

If Marie Antoinette Had a Picnic Wedding at the Beach

Emma and Will rented a house for their June wedding and the bride’s father married them on the beach. Their friends sang to them during ceremony, Emma’s niece was their flower girl and she choose sequin dresses for the bridal party because she wanted everybody to sparkle!

The bride has a deep fascination with French history and style but getting married in French chateau was not an option so they replicated the look in Maine. “The theme started as Marie Antoinette goes on a picnic, so pale pink, French blue and gold”, Emma wrote. “I collected French porcelain and planned out all the details. Over time we added in more details like cherry blossoms that symbolise hope for us, and we incorporated nautical touches with lobster cookies and oyster shell name cards.”
