Jenny and Ryan didn’t want a wedding that felt like it could be someone else's. They wanted one that felt like home. So, they got married in theirs. Having the day in a place where their life together already existed meant they were automatically surrounded by the things that mattered to them. Their backyard became the reception space, filled with their own furniture and handmade details. “The inspiration was items from our own home and the life we had already built together,” Jenny said. “It was colourful but sentimental and romantic.”

Brie started her wedding planning from a place of 'formal flower power'. She and fiance Ryan both knew they wanted their ceremony entrance song to be Neil Young's Harvest Moon (they had an acoustic version of the Poolside cover performed by Ryan's friend on guitar) and they wanted to arrive to their reception to I Was Made for Loving You by KISS. So, they also wanted a theme which fit the same vibes. The retro, 70s influence came through strong when they started to look at colours and decor.

Hollie and Adrian wanted their wedding to feel relaxed and just really chilled out. They decided to host their reception in their own back garden which meant they could do exactly what they wanted. The ceremony was held in their local parish church, just a stone's throw from home, which they decorated with all the flowers and foliage! In fact the flowers ended up being their single biggest cost of the otherwise DIY wedding, but they provided exactly the look they were after for their day.
