Colourful, Informal Wedding with a Navy Ombre Sequin Wedding Dress!

The inspiration for James and Cherry’s wedding was “doing it our way”, which for them meant colourful, informal and relaxed. They focused their attention to doing what they love – eating, drinking and dancing, and spent less time on the formal stuff. Doing the legal bit days before gave them the freedom for their day that they so craved. “We couldn’t even tell you the date we officially got married!” explained Cherry. “For us it was just a box ticking exercise – our wedding anniversary will always be the day we made a promise in front of our friends and family.”

Their day was held on a working farm, with an outdoor ceremony and reception in a marquee on the grounds right after. Cherry wore a navy ombre sequin dress from Phase Eight, with Monsoon shoes and beautiful dried flower bouquet and matching flower crown from Folkey Dokey. James’ outfit and their adorable blush pink flower girl outfits were from Next.

Glitter, Sequins & Mermaids: Colourful Club Tropicana Wedding in Ibiza

Alright, we need to talk about one of the greatest destination weddings I’ve probably ever seen: Cara and Tod’s insanely awesome, super colourful, don’t-give-a-fuck Ibiza wedding! The groom wore a silver sequin jacket and his groomsmen were in NEON PINK SHORT SUITS. I kid you not, you will never have seen a wedding quite like this one before. Oh and there were real life mermaids at their reception – NBD.

They split the wedding over two days, meaning they could have a whole weekend of fun in the sun with all their guests. “The legal ceremony was a traditional beach ceremony followed by a meal at El Chiringuito“, Cara explained, “but the after party/ reception was anything but traditional. The dress code to our guests was ‘Glitter, sequins, tropical, festival vibes’ – you can see by the photos what a fabulous effort everyone made!”

Body Positive Bridal Shoot with Sparkles, Glitter & Irregular Choice

It’s nearly New Year’s Eve, so let’s get into the alternative party spirit by injecting glitter, sparkles, rainbows and a bit of kawaii into your life with this head-turning shoot. And get your wish lists at the ready because you’ll be adding to them with no delay after seeing this.

The shoot’s first twinkle formed in the mind of Jo from The Couture Company after walking past the Irregular Choice store in Birmingham at least once a week. The shop has frosted pink glittery walls, flower installation, and a carousel (OMG!). They also did a few shots at Cereal Killer Café,

“This season, about nine out of ten brides arrived to their fittings carrying a box of goodness from Irregular Choice, so I thought it would be wonderful to collaborate on a shoot with them as they’re such a perfect complement to our crazy ass dresses and our brides’ quirky style. I met with manager Megan, who was a total babe, and she inspired me so much that I decided to invite the girls who work in the shop to be the models. Megan was a total star and totally rocked the shoot with her rainbow hair and badass curves. Lauren was so cute and curvy, with her cherubic face and blonde curls, making her perfect for our ‘Fleur’ and ‘Kawaii’ dresses. Then there was lovely Lily, who was our fiery fairy, and Claire the gorgeous brunette who rocked our ‘Poppy’ and ‘Nova’ star designs.”

Glitter, Unicorns & A New Year’s Day Nightclub Party!

It’s unusual for me to start a real wedding feature by sharing the video, but Maliya and Dimitris’ film, made by BeingThere Videography, is such a beauty that I can’t help myself. Put this full screen, turn it up loud and enjoy!

Any wedding where the bride rocks pastel pink hair, they have a unicorn wedding cake and they party in a nightclub is all good in my book. Doesn’t this look like the most fun EVER? They were legally married on Christmas Day and had their party on New Year’s Day!

Fifth Time Around Vow Renewal at a Secret Location in Berlin

Mina and Nathan didn’t want their wedding day to be the ‘one big day of their lives’, so instead decided to celebrate their wedding day every single year! This year was their fifth vow renewal (!) and it was the right amount of crazy and weird, laid back and a little industrial.

“We have lived together in many beautiful different places around the world,” began Mina, “but there is something particularly special about Berlin and it’s vibes. It’s a place where it’s seems everybody can choose for themselves how to live. It is an absolutely mixed city, culturally and architecturally, and is a place of contrast and individual perspective. Ugly can be beautiful, chaotic and messy can be perfectly organised, rude can be friendly. All of this was an inspiration to us for our wedding renewal and the reason why we wanted it to be in Berlin.”

Rockabilly Meets Mexican Fiesta Wedding

Rockabilly Meets Mexican Fiesta Wedding (43)

Mel and Lee met through mutual friends at a car show in 2010. They got talking about their cars and that was it! They wanted their wedding to reflect their day-to-day style and interests so, although Day of the Dead was their underlying theme, as far as everything else went, if they liked it they put it in the wedding! The end result was a Mexican fiesta, meets Day of the Dead, meets rockabilly wedding.

The wedding took place at The Green House Hotel, Bournemouth. “We didn’t worry about having a set theme”, said Mel. “The underlying theme was Day of the Dead, but we also just wanted it be ‘us’. We mostly chose vendors that we knew. The photographer, cake maker, florist, band, make up artist and most other smaller contributors were all ether friends, or friends of friends. We are lucky to know some very talented people! We liked how this made it feel really personal and we also made some amazing new friends through planning the wedding.”
