It wasn’t all sun loungers and cocktails while I was in Palm Springs at the beginning of the year. While my fellow headmistresses and I may have
pretended we were just there on an extravagant jolly, we actually went with a seriously big agenda… the results of which are (finally!) being launched tomorrow!!
The Blogcademy website has been given a facelift (pop by tomorrow to see it!) and we have some new and very,
very exciting new offerings. By now I think most of you have probably guessed what kind of format it will take (the camera in the photo at the top of this post kinda gives it away right?) but nonetheless, The Blogcademy: Home School will be winging it’s way to a computer near you TOMORROW! To be the first to know as soon as we flip the switch, follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook!
And because nothing is ever perfect first time, presenting: the bloopers reel!
I’ve watched this about 20 times already and it still makes me giggle like a loon. I don’t think I’m going to be able to sleep tonight..!
Tomorrow is gonna be amazing!

Vintage Furniture, 35°C Heat & Brand New Blogging BFFs
July 8, 2013
I've been throwing the word ‘whirlwind’ around a lot lately, but goodness these past few weeks have really been one! I've strolled around the streets of Manhattan, danced with a disco ball, made custom lipsticks, got a crazy Japanese glitter manicure, found my perfect wrist candy, had a coughing fit live on the internet, hosted a lunch date with our past students, eaten a tub of popcorn larger than my head, posed on velvet couches on city block corners and got locked on a rooftop... and that was just in the first few days!
We did two Blogcademy classes on this trip and I'll be blogging all about the Minneapolis adventures soon, but today it's all about my favourite city in the whole wide world - New Yaaawk!
Sixty Students, Four Days & Three Very Tired But Happy Headmistresses Later…
September 23, 2013
It's hard to believe that in just under a year The Blogcademy has taught over 300 women (and a few token men!) about blogging and how they can conquer their corner of the internet. When we first launched the workshop we thought we'd meet some people, teach them some stuff and that would be about it. Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine just what an impact attending this two day class would have on the attendees lives... and ours!
How to Host a Workshop or Live Event
January 21, 2014
Last year I attended, spoke at and organised more live events than ever before. While hard work, they are also incredibly rewarding and so much fun to do. I'm thrilled that doing them is such a huge part of my business now. The Blogcademy in particular has changed my life so much!
The first live events I hosted were parties for blog readers and people in the wedding industry, I then moved on to doing small afternoon-long, in-person blogging workshops before launching The Blogcademy with Gala and Shauna in 2012. Needless to say I've learnt a lot of lessons about what does and does not work when putting on events.
The Blogcademy: Live From New York!
June 18, 2013
After the runaway success of the livestream from Portland, my fellow Blogcademy headmistresses and I decided it was high time to do another one. So, on Monday 24th June at 1pm EST (that's 6pm if you're in the UK) we'll be broadcasting live from Blogcademy's NYC HQ!
Keep Portland Weird: The Blogcademy Recap
Made U Look Studio
May 1, 2013
After a solo long haul flight, an epic Q&A livestream and a whistle stop tour around Portland's least reputable establishments, I barely had time to catch my breath and it was time for the next leg of The Blogcademy World Tour. Portland is a weird little town, but one I felt an instant affinity with. I loved all the independent stores selling all manner of crazy creations, and the candy-coloured houses and walls obviously made my little heart sing!
