Too Stylish For Me

Kat

August 11, 2009

Bess & Matt...ahh what can I really say what would do justice to the images I see before me? The couple wed at Ridley Creek State Park with an amazing outdoorsy, rustic style fest. Of course Bess' tattoos and Matt's 'tache are what did it for me. Not to mention the dress by Megin Sherry, the check shirt (wow this Groom has some serious style) the casual garden flowers provided by Amanda Staples, the peacock earrings, the trilby hat and the cupcakes...oh yes Bess & Matt are just too stylish for me. Thanks to Amanda & Carina for sending me this glorious wedding Credit: Love Me Do Photography

Skater Chick

July 21, 2009

I am super duper excited about this wedding/wedding day shoot (as you can probably tell because I've featured about 40 photographs!) I saw this wedding on one of my favourite non-wedding blogs Rockstar Diaries. The enviable gorgeous girl behind the site also produces her own hairpieces which is how I first got a glimpse of the gorgeousness. I immediately emailed the photographer and couple begging to be able to share their god damn crazy awesome wedding. Thank you to Cristi Dame, Naomi of Rockstar Diaries and the couple Amy & Matt for sharing this kick ass skater chick wedding!

Spooky & Dark

Kat

July 9, 2009

Filipino photographer Jeffroger Kho sent me these stunning engagements which perfectly reflect his 'wild, crazy, and downright addictive' style. These are kinda spooky and dark but I seriously love them (yes even the creepy doll) Check it out... The client Mark and Johanna are photographers and very artistic individuals. You can check out their site here as well Happy Garaje Graphic Design and Illustration. Their style is really dark, desaturated, and textured. And I am happy that I was able to capture that and also reflect the clients style. The outfits are from the clients own wardrobe. They pretty much have everything already. They collect a lot of old stuff as well so it quite reflects much of their personality. I believe that this set is very Rock n Roll because it's different, downright crazy, non-conventional, and most importantly it reflects much of the personality of the client and not just a random theme just for the sake of having a theme. Thanks Jeffroger!

Superheroes

July 8, 2009

Didn't I tell you I had a lot of amazingness to catch up on? This is what happens when I have to hold off posting for just one day! Jenn & Graham had these crazy portraits taken on their actual wedding day as they decided to set enough time on the day to get some amazing shots (that's got to be every photographer's dream right!?) I adore Jenn's organic dress, it is just so stunning and of course it goes without saying that the bike shots, the Groom style (hot!) and the superhero cake topper are awesome! This has got to be one of the coolest weddings ever! Thanks to Erin of Fuller Edge Photography for sharing!

Spectacular Glamour

Kat

July 2, 2009

Glamour. Pure unadulterated glamour. From the gorgeous Bride and her girls all in their stunning custom made hairpieces from Heather Mandin to the Groom and his boys arriving at Grouse Mountain (the Peak of Vancouver) in a helicopter, the whole day just screams magnificence! It goes without saying that the locations is spectacular, but it's the ridiculous fun they look like they had that does it for me. Thank you to photographer Gracci for sharing the love with Rock n Roll Bride.

The Language Of Love

Kat

July 2, 2009

Rock n Roll Bride seems to be going all continental today, Ukrainian photographer Nikolay Kucan is up next. Due to the whole language barrier thing I'm afraid I don't know anything about this wedding, but when Nikolay sent me an email with just a link to these images I still felt them worthy of a post. I love her cute short/long dress, the picturesque town location (is it just me or does it almost look like a movie set?!) the fairytale feel of the photographs in the woods and the Bride rocking out with buskers on the street. They look like they had an absolute blast... I only wish I could share more with you.

Outdoorsy, Shabby Chic Gorgeousness

Kat

June 26, 2009

I am slightly reluctant to say this is one of my favourite, rustic, outdoorsy, shabby chic weddings ever as I seem to be saying things like that a lot..but I kinda can't help it. I adore every single details about this wedding, from the cute (almost kitch!) Mr&Mrs balloons to the Bride's stunning dress and shoes (shoes from Nordstrom, details on the dress to come once the couple get back from Honeymoon!) These will be popular with you all I'm sure of it. Sarah Yates you rocked this photography, thanks so much for all the sharing!

A Low-Key Party

Kat

June 20, 2009

Jess & Mike were really excited about having a really low-key party where their friends from all over and families could all be together and that's exactly what they delivered. The wedding was all in one place at the Valley Green Inn up in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. It was a quick outdoor ceremony officiated by Jess' uncle. The couple chose not to have rings and opted for a very simplistic approach to their flower, using little bundles of wild flowers for the bouquets. Jess made her own gorgeous red dress out of a vintage evening gown and also made all the decorations inside the restaurant which included tin can lanterns, string lights and a garland hung from the ceiling. Jess and Mike weren't too concerned with lots of family groups, but more with photos of everyone hanging out and having a good time. Colin Leaman came along to assist the main photographer Amanda and set up a little photo booth area for which Jess brought along tons of hats and wigs and other props for her guests to use in the funny photos. As an added touch, the couple requested friends and family write down three songs that they would love to hear at the wedding on their invitation replies so that evertbody got to hear something they liked at the reception

Oriental Obsession

Kat

June 20, 2009

Ever since our honeymoon in Japan, I have been obsessed with all things Japanese - whether that be Hello Kitty, the ridiculously scary horror movies, the food (my friends will vouch for this one - I don't think anyone has a sushi obsession like me) the fashion or just all things generally kawaii! This Japanese influenced wedding was sent to me by photographer Aaron Spicer, he describes the day: Kyle and Nicole were married on Sunday May 17th, 2009 in Richmond, VA at Maymont Park in the Japanese Gardens. The ceremony took place by a rustic Japanese pagoda that neighbors a Koi pond. Everything that could be done DIY, was. Nicole's mother made her dress and all of the bridesmaids dresses. Kyle and Nicole handmade over five hundred origami cranes, and gift boxes that included wasabi peas, ginger candy and other Japanese treats. Nicole's sister designed the wedding programs, as well. The bridesmaids all carried parasols, and the groomsmen all wore red Converse All-Stars to match Nicole's red shoes. Nicole carried purple lilies. The reception was held in a tent on the grounds of Maymont. It was decorated with origami cranes, lit votives and Japanese lanterns. The night concluded with a traditional money dance set to a polka dance. Yep, Japan is definitely amazing. I want to live there please!
