Pink Pin Up Las Vegas Vow Renewal

Staysi and David did the formal wedding thing the first time around, so when it came to their vow renewal, they decided to go FULL Vegas elopement style. As they’re both from Las Vegas, they wanted something fun and larger than life to celebrate ten years together – and they smashed it.

“We are both very into pin up/rockabilly culture, so we wanted our looks to be totally us, just a little more formal!” Staysi explains. “I have bright purple and blue hair and so designed and made a 50s inspired wedding dress for myself, with a matching mini me dress for my daughter, Wynter Lee. David is a great sport and knew he had to find something equally as fun so he went with pink pants and a pink flamingo shirt!”

They got married at the Fremont Wedding Chapel, officiated by Elvis – obviously, who else?! “Our favourite part was Elvis singing my daughter’s favourite song, Viva las Vegas. It was such a fun part of the ceremony, with everyone singing along and dancing. Our daughter being involved was the best thing about planning it – whenever she sees pictures or hears stories about our wedding she always gets so bummed she was the only person not there. she was so excited about being our maid of honour in her pink dress!”

Sumptuous Venetian Vow Renewals With a Stunning Red Dress

We love to celebrate love on Rock n Roll Bride, which is why it’s so nice to see alternative vow renewals as well as original ceremonies on here too. Jenny and Alan’s is no different – on the 30th December 2016, they took to Venice with their four children to renew their vows (made on New Year’s Eve 1991!) and looked every inch the gorgeous pair. Their inspiration was “25 years of marriage, four fabulous children, amazing city celebrations, and setting the tone for our future…”

“Our four sons flew into Venice on the morning, so we had not seen them before the ceremony. We had to trust they had arrived and been whisked from the airport on time!” Jenny remembers.  “As everyone else disappeared we walked slowly up the stairs of Ca Segrado, which they’d lined with candles. The sound of Italian opera could be heard as we got to the doors of the reception room which was flooded with sunshine and we couldn’t see the boys. Then I caught sight of the peak of my youngest son’s hat (he has a Peaky Blinders look going on!) Both Alan and I were really overcome at that point with emotion and we said it felt like we were getting married for the first time. We hugged the children in turn and then sat on our chairs at the front.”

Intimate Bohemian Beach Side Vow Renewal in Gran Canaria

Fittingly for last week’s heatwave, we have Kenzi and Joel’s romantic beach elopement on the blog today, and it is HOT. They took to Gran Canaria to renew their vows in an intimate ceremony, the photos of which are an absolute bohemian dream.

Gran Canaria Wedding Photographer SuperWeddings accompanied them to the beach to capture the passion between the couple. Having first met them at a workshop, Sebastian says “Everyone was so excited at how cool they looked. Kenzi was just stunning, and Joel had the coolest beard and tattoos on the island for sure.”

Intimate & Sparkly Desert Vow Renewal

Karina and Kellard met at a Halloween party in 2005 and were married in the summer of 2012. Five years later, on their wedding anniversary, they decided to renew their vows in Las Vegas.

The ceremony (unfortunately not photographed) took place in Sloan, NV, situated 18 miles southwest of Las Vegas. “This was our 5 year anniversary vow renewal”, said the bride. “Our inspiration was Vegas, the desert and doing something Intimate and sexy.”

“On our wedding day my husband promised me that he would love me until the end of his days, So I asked that he and I share new vows every five years. I love to be dramatic, fun and unique! He plays along because he loves seeing me happy and I can’t thank him enough.”

Karina designed her own dress and had it made by First Impression Sewing and Alterations. “My dress was one of the most unique things about our renewal. I designed it myself.”

Geeky Five-Year Anniversary Vow Renewal in a French Convent

Lysiane and Thomas got married on 28th July 2012. Five years later they decided to renew their vows. As their original wedding was quite traditional, they wanted their vow renewal to really feel like ‘them’, and celebrate their geeky sides!

“We are both nerds, so we didn’t have to look far to find inspiration,” said Lysiane, “but our main theme was celebrating our love and family and the path we’ve walked since we got married. I think every couple knows what it takes to be happy, and we’ve overcome mountains and tsunamis (plus a kid!) Also we wanted to do the simplest thing ever, not bothering with social pressure and conventions as we did for our wedding. This time, we wanted it to look like us, be like us, and feel like family.”

They had just 30 guests (to make the day more intimate) and spent only €4000, helped massively by the fact they didn’t have to hire a venue,. “Our vow renewal was held in my departed grandmother’s house which is a former convent and that we are actually going to buy from my dad since he doesn’t want to keep it! It’s the place I spent holidays when I was a child and where I lived as a student since it was near Toulouse University where I studied. I wanted to get married there so bad in 2012 but everyone advised against it so we ended up in a vineyard (great place but no childhood memories there). So when we started planning our renewals, there was no way we could have gone anywhere else but in my grandma’s convent!”

Gothic Funeral Vow Renewal in a Spanish Monastery

Andrea and Gabbi met in a job interview (Gabbi interviewed Andrea for a position on the film Shrek!), while living in San Francisco. They fell in love and were married in Sayulita, Mexico in May 2004. In fact they loved it so much they have now lived there for over 11 years! They decided to renew their vows on their 13th wedding anniversary and wanted the celebration to have a dark, gothic, funeral theme. There were just four of them in attendance: The couple and their two children. They also had their friend Jan who performed the ceremony and People True Love Tellers who took the photos and created the video.

“We have always been freaks and I always loved the idea of a black and red wedding gown, and walking down the aisle to Guns ‘N’ Roses’ Rocket Queen,” began Andrea. “At our first wedding, in a beach town overlooking the ocean, wearing white felt more right, but this time we wanted to ignore tradition entirely. We had already done the traditional wedding and so had the freedom to be playful and truly represent ourselves and who we really are. We also loved the idea of this being a funeral for our first 13 years of marriage and the start of a new commitment to each other as a family.”
