In Bloom: A Spring Time Pastel Bridal Shoot with a Punk Rock Edge

We’re a big fan of of all the colours here at Rock n Roll Bride, so for the cover shoot and editorial for the March/April 2020 edition we decided to embrace the pastel vibes of the season but to give it our own Rock n Roll twist. Our magazine subscribers LOVED this shoot and so today I wanted to share the full thing anyone who wants to see more. 10 pages just wasn’t enough HAHA!

We worked with a couple of new team members this time too. Cat of Cat Food Cakes made us the most awesome rainbow cake, while Katherine of Katherine Bly Floral Design took the brief and ran with it, creating us these stunning cloud-like installations made from dyed gypsophila.

If you’re a little bit girly but still have some edge, then you’re going to love this one. YES you can still be soft and pretty and hella punk on your wedding day. Enjoy!

Queen for a Day Editorial for Rock n Roll Bride Magazine

Originally published in issue 30 of Rock n Roll Bride magazine (Jan/Feb 2020), our ‘Queen for a Day’ editorial was all about celebrating how fierce you are going to be as you sashay down the aisle. We wanted to use giant crowns, gold and some really unique florals. As soon as we found the stunning Fitzrovia Chapel, a bedazzled little jewel of a place hidden away in the streets not far from Oxford Circus, we knew it was the ideal location. Oh, and in case you were in any doubt, a big fuck off crown is always a good idea!

OK, on with the shoot! Model [aka the Queen]; Anu was the perfect muse for this shoot – WHAT. A. BABE!

Neon Dreams for Rock n Roll Bride Magazine

One of the most creative and enjoyable shoots we’ve ever produced, one of my favourite models we’ve worked with and at one of my favourite locations. Seriously, our editorial and cover image for issue 29 was a DREAM to put together. I really do have the BEST team in the world.

You will have seen the Neon Dreams shoot in print already but, as always, there were hundreds of beautiful shots that didn’t make the spread. So, I wanted to share more of them with you today!

You can still grab a copy of this issue if you missed it here. We have very few left though so if you want one, hop to it!

I said it when we launched this issue, but I feel like I should say it again: I am so damn proud of what we achieved with this shoot. Not, just the technical aspects of shooting with neons (let’s face it, that was all Lisa!) but by working with a transgender model, Talulah Eve.

The whole reason Rock n Roll Bride magazine exists is to give a platform for anyone who doesn’t feel like they fit in… anyone that doesn’t feel represented in the mainstream wedding media. If you feel like an outsider then we welcome you with open arms!

Pink Power: A Pink on Pink on Pink Editorial for Rock n Roll Bride Magazine

I’ve wanted to do an all-pink bridal shoot for a long time, Like, my team and I were probably discussing it for a year or so before we actually managed to do it! Turns out you guys agreed that it was a great idea – the cover for this issue was one of the most commented, shared and liked of the year and this issue is now completely sold out! WOW.

I love using colour as the basis for our shoots and this one is one of my all time favourites. I’m obviously a pink kinda gal, and if you too fancy rocking your signature colour down the aisle instead of traditional white, I hope these images will inspire you,

As always, now the issue is off-sale, I wanted to share some more shots that didn’t quite make the print spread because there’s always so many great photos that it’d be a travesty to keep them to ourselves! Enjoy!
