A DIY wedding with Holga images? Oh hell yeah baby! Shelly & Jeff had a wedding that perfectly epitomised them. From the turquoise and orange pom poms and the personalised 'All You Need is Love' M&Ms to their friend playing 'Blackbird' by The Beatles and Dr Seuss' 'Oh The Places We Will Go' as gifts. From the sparrow salt & pepper shakers as a cake topper and succulents as centrepieces to the their customised 'lunchboxes' by Pink Avocado..oh yes yes yes! Shelly's beautiful dress was by Linda Asaf and I love it all! Thanks to Katherine for sending these over to me. I am in lurrrve Credit: Katherine O'Brien Photography

Rock n Roll Perfect

Kat

October 22, 2009

It doesn't get more Rock n Roll perfect than this! Sommer & Dan's wedding took place in an old mill is Somerset, New Jersey which is owned by Dan's parents. The bride wore a 1950s prom dress from Ebay and snakeskin Kate Spade shoes. The groom rocked it in a custom suit with spiderweb lining and the bridesmaids looked the part in leopard print shoes. To top off the day, Bruce, the family pet rooster, served as ring bearer and apparently he did a great job! Thanks to Siobhan for sharing this awesome wedding with us...Ooooh I adore my readers! Come on Get Happieee!

Bridget & James got married at a glassworks in downtown Louisville, KY. Doesn't their yellow colour scheme invoke a perfectly joyous feeling?! Love the orange/yellow and black combo of everything. Bridget's awesome polka dot dress came from Unique Vintage but was altered a little by her Mum who tweaked the fit and added the polka dot sash. Thanks to Stephanie for sharing her images and brightening up this gloomy Sunday... Credit: La Photographie

Latin Lovers

Kat

October 9, 2009

Will & Aine had a Latin/ rock n roll wedding with gorgeous vintage touches in Santa Cruz. The term 'vintage' is thrown around a lot when it comes to weddings but looking at Aine's stunning...and I mean stunning...dress handmade by a friend and matching hairpiece, what other world could I use? The lace, the cameo, the cut...it's swoonworthy stuff! Will is a musician and plays in a Samba band so the day had a very Latin feel - from the bright colours (I adore orange and pink together!), the details and the music - it was a real eclectic mix of styles but it worked perfectly. Thanks so much to Gabrielle for sending me the exclusive first look at this stunning wedding. If you need more then go check out her blog and the slideshow! Credit: Gabrielle Fox Photography

Autumnal Engagement

Kat

October 5, 2009

Autumn is most definitely here isn't it? Although it's getting colder (and in the UK's case much rainier) we do get some gorgeous colours and light at this time of year. San Francisco based Jerry & Ingrid Yoon were lucky enough to photograph the gorgeous Rosann & Josh frolicking in the autumn leaves for their recently engagement session. These images make me feel all together a little bit less blue about the impending season. Thanks guys, you certainly put a smile on my face this morning! Credit: Jerry Yoon Photography

Tyson & Courtney are a quirky and creative couple and so what else would be perfect for their wedding than what full of quirks and creating! The event took place at the house and yards of The Dana Powers House in Nipomo, where the couple made the day their own with all the personal touches. Thanks to the lovely Beth for sharing these with me and yes I am waiting to hear who made the dress right now! Fret not... Credit: Bath Armsheimer Photography

Wai-Ching Bride

Kat

Evan & Angela's wedding was at the Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria, BC. They had an intimate event with just 20 or 30 guests within their own bridal penthouse suite with an antique/bird theme. They set up a typewriter to be used a vintage style guest book, birdcages around the room and old-time candy for goodie-bag favours. They are both photographers as well so there were antique cameras scattered about as well as lots of shots taken with Evan's old Polaroid Land Camera. Angela's veil was handmade by an artist in Portland, OR and her dress was designed by local Seattle designer Chrissy Wai-Ching. It's a pretty damn amazing dress huh?

Orange.

Kat

August 31, 2009

Rachel & Geordie are a little bit too gorgeous to keep to myself and the orange motif that runs throughout the images - from her shoes and flowers to the Mini (bought by Rachel's Mother a week before the wedding!) and the JCB (!) - is just too damn awesome. The wedding took place in Rachel's parents' back yard and really had the stylish vintage vibe going on. Rachel's stunning 1920's inspired dress was custom made by her good friend (and clothing designer) Mireille Stettler and Geordie complimented her perfectly with his casual look. Thanks to the gorgeous and super talented Brittany for sending me these! Credit: Brittany Esther Photography

Vibrant.

Kat

Dave & Pam sure let their imagination run wild with their gorgeous wedding at Canada's Kopje Regional Park. The Bride is particular loves bright colours and so decided to reflect that in their day by organising and designing the whole thing herself. Her dress was by Maggie Sottero and the awesome stripey cake was made by Wedding Cake Creations. For the flowers they relied on the expertise of Art Knapp Plantland & Florists, which meant they got the perfect pink, orange and red (who says they don't go together!?) flower combo to compliment the rest of the decor. I love their completely non-boring group shots too! The photographers wanted to find something different and were worried that they might not in such a small town. However when driving one day, the spotted the a mechanic's garage on the side of the highway and after asking a pretty confused owner permission to use the site they had found their perfect spot. The antiquey sofa and the fun masks add a great finish to the shots and transform them into something that is anything but dull. Thanks to photographers Emmy & Aaron for sharing this hot damn gorgeous wedding with us! Credit: E/A Photography
