Elopements and micro weddings are such fabulous options, with lots of benefits when it comes to your nuptials; more time for you and your partner, less planning which can mean less stress, an opportunity to create exactly the vibe you want, and often a lot less expense than a full-blown wedding! But no matter how big or small your wedding, what you chose to wear is an essential part of the day.Read more...

Part elopement, part micro wedding, Brenda and Nick wanted to get married abroad, but not entirely on their own. Rather than eloping just the two of them, the couple, who are from Wisconsin, invited eight of their best friends to come to England with them as their bridal party! When Hannah and Nate decided to tie the knot, they knew they didn't have a lot to spend, but that wasn't going to stop them having the wedding they wanted. Both line cooks, they were lucky enough to be offered the restaurant where the bride works as their venue, which they used after hours. Everything else was homemade and their secondhand outfits were pieced together from pieces found at Poshmark and Goodwill, totalling less than $50 combined!Read more...

Getting engaged is the most exciting time. What’s less exciting is when you actually start planning the wedding and realise you might need to remortgage your house to pay for the damn thing. It’s no secret that weddings are expensive. No matter the size or style, they’re a luxury - and luxuries always come with a hefty price tag. It’s not that there are vendors lurking in the shadows waiting to rip you off. It’s just that this shit is expensive. It just is.Read more...

Alternative brides customise everything. Dresses. Accessories. Playlists. Ceremonies that make your nan raise an eyebrow. Maximalism is finally having its moment in weddings, and nowhere is this more apparent than with flowers. Couples aren’t interested in shrinking themselves into tradition anymore. They want colour, attitude, drama and a bit of glorious chaos. Florals are the fastest way to take a blank space and turn it into something loud, expressive and unmistakably you. And with online flowers services making big ideas easier than ever to pull off, maximalist wedding florals have officially gone from “maybe one day” to “add to basket”.Read more...

New York Bridal Fashion Week has wrapped, and this season it was all about reimagining the bridal rules (something we are, of course, a huge fan of at Rock n Roll Bride!) One thing stood out to us the most: the next generation of brides are more focused on self-expression, comfort, and the meaning behind their choices. The biggest shift? Texture, tactility, and detail took centre stage. Designers are crafting gowns that feel alive with things like pleats, layers, feathers and even sculpture. There was pleasing amount of colour too! The modern nearlywed isn’t content with a plain white dress. She wants depth. She wants movement. She wants to feel something.Read more...
