I was forwarded Danielle & Jerry's wedding by the lovely Amanda of Vintage Glam. I saw it and I loved it. I also discovered their rocking engagement session so I had to feature these first. Danielle's cute little hair bow, their awesome tattoos (do I sound like a broken record sometimes?) and the almost spooky fun fair location - I love it all. Stand by for the wedding, complete with a Groomsman with a mohawk and a Bride in a black wedding dress.Read more...

If you would have told me six months ago that I'd be getting submissions saying 'I shot this session with Rock n Roll Bride in mind' I would have said you were totally nuts. In fact I still think you're a bit nuts but I guess that's beside the point. Keira & Dan had a super cute session with Studio Nouveau. The vintage camera, the bright blue wall, the awesome trilby hat - yes I love it all. You've gotta watch the slideshow as well because I just can't get enough of this wonderful stuff. Thanks to Lara & Kate of Studio Nouveau for not only thinking of me, but for being super duper adorable. Credit: Studio NouveauRead more...

This session is quite frankly gorgeous. So gorgeous in fact that I don't think my incessant ramblings can do it justice. Therefore I won't. Ramble that is. Just lookie and love what you see (eeek the chalkboard shots are to die for!) Erica thank you so much for sharing this little bit of happiness. Credit: Erica BergerRead more...

The Infinite Design team went for something totally different for Brady and Nithya's wedding trailer. The result is something with much more of a filmic feel - blurring the lines between cinematography and videography so to speak. It evokes the emotion and the vibe of the wedding in a much more subtle way. I totally love it. It brings me back to my university days studying film and makes me feel ever so slightly intelligent again! Thanks so much to Tim for sharing this special filmRead more...

Whoa sexy mamma! A boudoir shoot with a rock n roll edge? I likey. The Bride who sent these to me said her husband was 'one happy rock star' when he saw them - I bet! I don't get to feature enough rockin' boudoir shoots, if you've got one don't be shy - send it my way. Credit: Lisa Mark PhotographyRead more...

Karlie & Jamie only made the decision to get married three months before the day. A lot of their friends were getting married during the year and had spent months planning everybody else's weddings. So it wasn't until the very last minute, that the laid back couple decided to get engaged and then hitched literally straight away! Karlie's father is a pastor at their church so they started the day with a very heartfelt, personal service. They then went to a local park to have some cool portraits taken (they couple also had their engagement shoot here) and rounded off the day with a small reception in Karlie's parent's back garden. Special thanks to photographer Kate for sharing this beautiful day with me. Credit: Depict PhotographyRead more...

I love this shoot and I love the inspirational Bride in her 'something blue' Doc Martins, but more than that I love the story that goes along with this set. Photographer Jennifer Williams explained: The highlight of the shoot has got to be being pulled over by the Kern County Sheriff! Heather and I took a few shots at a bridge. Little did we know what a scene it would cause. When I left Heather sitting at the bridge while I went to get the car (her shoes were cute but not so comfortable) people called in reporting a suicidal bride getting ready to jump! Lucky for me, the sheriff thought it was really funny. When I explained we were doing a photo shoot, and there was not a run away bride wasn't about to jump off the bridge, he sent us on our way.Read more...

What you'll probably first notice about this set (apart from the Bride's wicked tattoo and the wedding's cute daisy theme) is that the photography is a little different. Photographer Katie Malone uses a variety of techniques to make her work stand out from the crowd. First we have the Holga images, an inexpensive 'toy' camera that produces distorted and low-fidelity images. The effect is dramatic light leaks (the red intrusions) blurs and vignetting (the soft dark edged images). She accompanies this with the use of infra-red (in black and white and with complete colour washes) and TTV (Through the Viewfinder) images. The latter looks a little like a Polaroid and produce a vintage looking, square image with a dark black border. These techniques aren't for everyone, but I'm sure any Rock n Roll Bride can appreciate the originality and quirkiness of the result. Thanks to Katie for sharing...Read more...

Before reading this post, it is required that you head over here and have this tune playing in the background... So, you may have noticed a few little tweaks to the Rock n Roll Bride you've come to know and love today (if you're reading this on RSS then come on over and see!) Following the readers survey of a few months ago, I decided the site was in need of a little spring clean and spruce up. I enlisted the help of the very wonderful, ridiculously talented and charming Rhiannon Burton of Under The Cherry Moon. Rhiannon, a graphic designer from London, left her job as a midwife to follow her dream of designing quirky and stylish wedding stationary. Her site is still in the very early stages, but I hope you can see from my header alone how crazy talented she is and how amazingly gorgeous her designs are! I much also give a huge thank you followed by a big sloppy kiss to my hubby who put the whole thing together for me, and put up with my tireless nagging (as only a wife can do) of Is it ready yet...? Is it ready yet...? Is it reeeeady yet...? Also, I am still plowing my way through the re-categorising and tagging of every single post, and with over 1000 under my belt it is taking some while so please bear with me! Be sure to let me know what you think of my site's new outfit!Read more...

The bonus of having two photographers is that you get two different perspectives and styles, even when you're dressed as dramatically as I was! Part two comin' at ya... Vintage cameras are all the rage right now. I've seen them used as props in various engagement and wedding day shoots. However, New Yorker Robert Christian Malmberg has taken it one step further, by reviving a photographic technique popular in the 19th Century. He uses is own Bellows camera and 'wet plate collodion' to create the effect you see below. His thinking is to make timeless images that contemporary Brides will love. Thanks so much to Robert for sharing his gorgeous and totally unique images. Credit: Robert Christian MalmbergRead more...

I am super duper excited about this wedding/wedding day shoot (as you can probably tell because I've featured about 40 photographs!) I saw this wedding on one of my favourite non-wedding blogs Rockstar Diaries. The enviable gorgeous girl behind the site also produces her own hairpieces which is how I first got a glimpse of the gorgeousness. I immediately emailed the photographer and couple begging to be able to share their god damn crazy awesome wedding. Thank you to Cristi Dame, Naomi of Rockstar Diaries and the couple Amy & Matt for sharing this kick ass skater chick wedding!Read more...

Looks like Ella & Ben had a great time during their engagement session with Razvan of Razvan Photography. The session took place in a teeny tiny town called Kalkaska which is defined as a 'trout town' due to the huge trout festival that happens there every year - who knew?! Thanks to Razvan for sharing these session with me and I look forward to seeing their DIY laden wedding after it happens in August. Credit: Razvan PhotographyRead more...

What would happen if we woke up tomorrow and there had been some kind of nuclear crisis over night? Hell, drive (or in my case fly) out to Vegas and enjoy the new scenery of course! Mindy and Scott have actually been married for 6 years, but unhappy with their wedding photographs they decided to seek the help of photographer team Nick Adams to give them a shoot they'll love forever.Read more...

Kirsten & Josh’s wedding not only had a fun, retro feel, but they really went all out with their 1950’s diner theme. I am crazy in love with the Brides entire outfit - from her Dorothy ruby slippers to her cute polka dot dress made by her Mother and friend Marnie Rogers, who designs clothes for Wintersun. The gorgeous Bridesmaid had a rockabilly style to them - especially their amazing hairdos! For the reception, the couple went all out for a 50's diner theme, where they designed and made everything themselves. The centrepieces were giant lolly jars and each table had a different type of old school lolly, which was the name of the table ("Sweethearts" "Milk bottles" "Ice creams" "Jelly beans" etc) The place cards were black & white candy striped lolly bags with everyone's names on them, each painstakingly tied with little red ribbons. The placemats were old records that they picked up in an op shop and they had little gifts for everyone on the table - mini erasers in the shape of burgers, fries, hotdogs and donuts, plus vintage metal wind up toys. Each table also had a diner style spring loaded napkin holder, salt and pepper shakers and tomato and mustard bottles. Then best of all, for dinner they served burgers, hotdogs, pizza and fries. I bet their guests were thrilled - no boring wedding food for them! The celebrations continued into the night with the couple having their first dance to 'I remember the Bride when she used to Rock n Roll' by the Stray Cats, finishing the night by swaying along to 'Earth Angel'. Thanks to the Groom's Mother Rhonda for sending me this wedding and to the couple for putting together all the awesome info for you all.Read more...

Billy & Rachel's wedding is sweet (as in sah-weet!) and reason numero uno has got to be Billy and his boys + their awesome H&M attire, closely followed by their tattoos (one of them has a tat that says 'rock n roll' for crying out loud!) Quite apart from their killer Groom styling, they all look like they had an absolutle blast and I love that... Credit: BWright PhotographyRead more...
