Revival

July 21, 2009

Vintage cameras are all the rage right now. I’ve seen them used as props in various engagement and wedding day shoots. However, New Yorker Robert Christian Malmberg has taken it one step further, by reviving a photographic technique popular in the 19th Century.  He uses is own Bellows camera and ‘wet plate collodion’ to create the effect you see below.  His thinking is to make timeless images that contemporary Brides will love.

Thanks so much to Robert for sharing his gorgeous and totally unique images.

  1. Gorgeous! I love that there are photographers out there still using vintage techniques. You can mimic almost anything in a computer now days but it’s just not the same.

  2. LOVE this one… by the way I love your blog too… Would you mind if I posted a link to all of your bridalshoot/trash the dress posts on my blog so people can check these out for inspiration??
