Elegant and Quirky Brooklyn Winery Wedding: Jaime & Marty
October 17, 2013
When it came to planning their New York wedding, Jamie and Marty didn't really know what they wanted. It wasn't until they found their winery venue that it all fell into place. The rustic yet urban space completely set the tone of the day.
An East London Wedding with an Industrial Vibe: Bianca & Paul
August 28, 2012
I often daydream about what our wedding would be like if we were to do it now (embarrassing admission alert!) and I think I've hit the daydream wedding jackpot with Bianca & Paul. The industrial vibe of their Shoreditch venue is just perfect perfect perrrfect. The space in question is Village Underground, an "evolving project building an international platform for creativity and culture" as the website describes it. SWOON.
Simple & Cozy London Knees Up: Lee & Lauren
February 6, 2013
Red flowing locks, a faux fur coat, deep red flowers in her hair... as soon as I spied the beautiful Lauren on photographer Emma Case's blog I knew she was definitely a Rock n Roll bride. And then I saw the entire wedding and I literally couldn't wait to get it up on these pages - as soon as possible!
Lee & Lauren were married in November at Stoke Newington Town Hall. They has their reception at The Artisan of Clerkenwell, a pub/restaurant in North East London. They did things their own way. They picked a non-traditional venue, they homemade as much as possible and only invited people that they really wanted to be there. This wedding was every bit the modern fairytale.
Eclectic Basement Wedding: Louisa & Richie
April 10, 2014
This is definitely a wedding I wish I was at. Louisa and Richie sure do know how to throw one hell of a party! The styling for the celebration was really centred around their venue - the basement of Shoreditch Town Hall called The Ditch. An unusual choice maybe (and one with no natural light!) but it fit perfectly with what the couple wanted. Louisa's dress was designed by Catherine Deane. She wore Badgley Mischka and her veil was vintage.
Eclectic East End Wedding Tea Party: Cassandra & Howard
October 14, 2013
Cassandra and Howard were married at The Roost in Dalston, London, a photographic studio and shooting location. Because it wasn't a traditional wedding venue it meant their whole day was really chilled out and non-traditional, but also that they could completely plan it the way they wanted. "We’d had a really small and intimate wedding ceremony in Cornwall with just our immediate families so we wanted to throw a vintage wedding tea party for friends and relatives here in London", began the bride. "The Roost was an amazing find. It's a former Victorian pub in deepest, darkest Dalston converted into a four floor photographic and film shoot location. My heart skipped a beat the first time we viewed it. It was perfect. I just loved the eclectic vintage vibe and ‘out there’ style of the place. From the gorgeous House Of Hackney wallpapers, to the giant props, old film posters and quirky paintings on the wall. We were just blown away."
Reclaimed Wedding at The Green Building: Alison & Michael
June 10, 2013
Alison and Michael were married at The Green Building in Brooklyn. They got together after chance meeting at Kate's Paperie in New York, a Craigslist 'Lost Connection' that actually worked and a long online relationship. After finally getting together and then getting engaged they planned the wedding in just three short months.
"When planning the wedding I became charmed by the idea of parlour weddings, the way folks used to do it before the Big Business of weddings", Alison explained. "So we wanted to create the look and feel of a living room for ours. We wanted to take items from each of our apartments and create a cozy and personal space where we could gather our nearest and dearest to watch us make this amazing commitment."
