Central Park Love

Kat

August 15, 2009

No wonder Central Park is always in the movies...OK so I totally stole this line from one of the commenters on the photographer's blog post but it pretty much sums up what I wanted to say about this shoot myself! Laura & Bearden had this shoot as an anniversary gift to each other. If you too fell in love in New York then be sure to get your entries in for the fabulous 'We fell in love in NYC' contest. It closes for entries tomorrow so you'd better get a wriggle on! All info is here... MWAH! Credit: Krista Photography

Will & Kerr are getting married next month in the glorious San Francisco. Originally from New York, the couple will surely have a super stylish day at Presidio Chapel and Marines' Memorial Club. Kerr is wearing a dress originally worn by her Grandmother on her first date with her Grandfather which really adds to the personal and intimate feel of this session. Note: If you too met and fell in love in New York then you better get on a enter the New York film contest. The contest is open for entries until Sunday so hurry up!

Water Babies

Kat

August 7, 2009

As always, I have a plethora of joy to share today so I think I need to get right on it. Yesterday I was described by two separate people as 'the hardest working blogger I know' so I reckon I need to keep that perception running with these little gems. I adore Jacqueline & Daniel's cute 'water babies' engagement session sent in by the delightful Jessica Purvis. Can't believe I've never seen water rings used in a shoot before - too adorable for words! Credit: Jessica Purvis

‘Nobody Can Be Uncheered By A Balloon’

Kat

August 5, 2009

I received the cutest and most excitable submission I have ever had the other day. Josephine Sicad is an girl from Singapore who is just tipping her toes into the world of photography and where better to start that by shoot her and her (then) fiance's engagement shoot (or pre nup as they call it over there.) I'm sure she won't mind but I have to share some of her excitement right here, just so you get the emotion behind the lens: While browsing through your site, I get so giggly to share my own set, too. I happen to be my own photographer (the tripod-remote-timer-way) for my own engagement sessions. Teehee! Which is why I am just giggling to share it,too. My idea was a touch of vintagey and rustic feel to it which I always love love love. We did our photoshoots randomly to places we find great backdrops (the park and some rustic places) here in Singapore and yes, including my own bike. Weeehhh! I wanted it to be simple and yet so FULL of LOVE. We had these shots taken around June, while we just got happily married last July 28 and I am still working on my edits Hahaha. Sadly, I couldn't be my own photographer for my wedding, you know I wish I could. Hahaha But I had amazing friends who helped me capture all the wonderful moments, too as it was just a 9 people wedding in fact. =) I love these for a their cute, playful joy - the experimentation of a new photographer finding her feet is totally alluring. I know there are great things ahead for the delightful Josephine and I can't wait to see more of it! Credit: Josephine Sicad Photography

Days Gone By

Kat

Emma & Chris had their engagement shoot at home with the french bulldog Colby for company. Chris' sister photographed them using film and digital to get these great shots. I have had such a resurgence of love for film photography recently, I am loving reliving days gone by with the gorgeousness of real film photography so these are right up my street. Thanks to Emma & Chris for sending me these gorgoeus shots and I can't wait to see their wedding photographs (which will be captured by the wonderful Katherine O'Brien) Credit: Kelly Lynn James for Williams-Matson

Childhood Dreams

Kat

July 31, 2009

I love it when my sponsors email me their work to feature. I am always a little bit biased when it comes to sharing the love with them (shh!) but only because they are all so FAB! Kelly & Will had an engagement session with Whitney Lee surrounded their childhood. Shrek and Star Wars pinatas, lucidly coloured candy and a 'moonbounce' all played a role in their session. They look like they had a blast and even bought their little girl Millie to join in! Thanks to Leah for sharing these with me, and if you too are interested in being a sponsor on Rock n Roll Bride, don't be scared - drop me a little email and say hey. Credit: Whitney Lee Photography

Urban Outfit

Kat

July 29, 2009

Do you this couple as much as I do? I'm sure that's pretty much impossible. The checked shirt-dress, the skateboarding, the cyan/teal old bicycle, the sunglasses, the handstands, the vintage cameras. As photographer Mary Wyer said, they do in fact look like they just stepped out of an Urban Outfitters catalogue and I really really love that shop. Oh yes, I pretty much adore Mary & Scott... Huge thanks to photographer Mary for sharing these, I look forward to seeing more stuff like this as she steps forward and takes her photography in this new pretty damn awesome direction.

All Killer & No Filler

Kat

July 28, 2009

Are you loving my posts today as much as I am? Well, not the posts exactly but the extraordinarily brilliant stuff I'm featuring? I'm pretty damn pleased with myself I have to say and this is only the beginning. I heard Chris Moyles joke this morning that his radio show was 'all killer and no filler' and I have to say, I'm going to join in that joke and say I think Rock n Roll Bride is exactly the same today. Stay tuuuuned for more more more! Deann & Nick are so cute together. Their checked shirts look super cool in a mis-matching, clashing kinda way.
